  1. Yep, ten points, tied for ninth place.
  2. Yes, we did. (you tied for eighth place with eight points)
  3. If you're low on bricks, I would start the quest and start taking pictures of the sets you've already built from all the angles you might need them in, and then deconstruct them and build the rest of the sets as the quest progresses. It's what I've done for all my quests. (In Quest 4 I really had no idea what I was doing and built as I went. In Quest 17 I already had a basic idea of how to build each room - they were all in the same fort, after all - and after the party had finished in one room I'd deconstruct the set and build the one for the room they were going to. For Quest 31 I sort of railroaded the party through each scene in order to keep up with the other two Dastan Quests, so I built things ahead of time, but I was still deconstructing and building as the quest progressed.)
  4. It was always meant to be this way; it was always Brickington who dominated the fight. Now we finally have the technology to recreate my original vision for the fight. Brickington vs. Bishop, Special Edition: the fans are gonna love it!
  5. Mother of John the Baptist.
  6. Um, no, you didn't lose. The battle's still going. Retcon!
  7. Important GM Note: George-Lucas-scale retcon! As pointed out by Palathadric, I missed the fact that Sir Brickington had been attacking from the Back Row during two of the times he was struck by Mugs, which means that the battle is still continuing, and not only is Sir Brickington not Knocked Out, he's actually dominating the fight. I believe the calculations of the previous Rounds have now been fixed, but you should probably check them over just to be sure, considering that I just managed to mess up a fight between two Level 4 heroes with no elemental or status effect modifiers.
  8. Argh, I didn't notice that he'd switched to the Back Row. Look at that, I managed to mess up a fight between two Level 4 heroes with no elemental weapons or status effects.
  9. OoC: The Damage was calculated as if Defense was 25, there's just a '7' typed there instead.
  10. Speaking of all these Wren Quest characters, I know the Barbarian Contestant had no name and Cronk decided to call him 'Phil'; was that just of the top of your head, Cornelius? (I think that was around the time we found the cleric's office, right?) As for my names, in Quest 4 I was keeping with the Hinckwell/Ziegfried/Invision/Shadeaux/Bonaparte/Ji Pei scheme and starting with the usernames of staff members and running them through medieval name generators: Isaac Shawe, being a Shadeaux, got his name from ImperialShadows. The knight in the bar whose name I've forgotten ( ) got his name from WhiteFang, who has a knight sig-fig. Martin Largus, being a Hinckwell, came from Mark Larson (Hinckley). I think the elves were originally named for Star Wars staff members, since they were the closest thing to obviously evil characters and KimT was the Dark Lord of Denmark. Their names are a bit less obvious as to the source, but if I remember correctly, Keveak came from both KDM and KimT, Seaian came from Stash. Then I ran out of Star Wars staff members so Ricroar came from Ras, I think because I saw some posts by him in the Star Wars forum and he was sort of an admin at the time (Event Admin) so he seemed a suitable substitute. Similarly, Normorn came from Not Shadows, who was also sort of an admin (Shadow Admin was the rank, if I remember correctly) and his role on the forum fit in with what Normorn's was in Heroica. I think the elves in Quest 17 were just whatever elvish name sounded good after I put a random letter into the DnD name generator. Emperor Alandri Fowler came from Alan Dean Foster, who was the first person to mention the existence of an emperor in Star Wars, in the 1976 novelization of Star Wars. I named the Lion Knights' flagship the Chimaera, so I named its admiral Mathias Thraune, from Grand Admiral Mith'raw'nurudo. Every other significant NPC in Quests 17 and 31 is, I believe, a Lion Knight, and all their names of course come from the "L. K./C." naming scheme.

  16. Technically the objective complement 'ready' and its infinitive modifier 'to propose to Sandy' are modifying the direct object 'storyline', not the subject 'I'.
  17. Results of Round Two of Brickington vs. Bishop: Arnulf Bishop vs. Sir Brickington - Miss Sir Brickington vs. Arnulf Bishop - Sentinel As you retreat, Arnulf, you stab wildly at Brickington, but fail to hit the Knight who takes cover behind his shield. 18. "Master Emorith, take a Tangleweed. Master Carvenhall switch to Shy Shell A. Master Nihia, switch to Shy Shell C. Master Unth'or, keep on Shy Shell B. I've got the Gloom Widow again." I attack the Gloom Widow from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow.
  19. Congrats. But your good luck will disappear if you hit 20 and start to max. I'm serious: Just one Level 16 Necro and one Level 20 NPE Wizzy: 5 White Bags! (EP, Inc, Plane, Plane + EP, DBow) All maxed chars ever (sixteen, I think? I've lost count): 10 White Bags. (CSword, CSWord, DBlade, Scammy, Scammy, Golden Skull, Golden Femur, Inc, Golden Femur, Golden Femur)
  20. I'm helping Flipz with his and I'm busy in real life right now. I've got my next quest's storyline mostly scripted out and ready to propose to Sandy, but I'm not sure when I'll have time to host it.
  21. Results of Round One of Brickington vs. Bishop: Sir Brickington vs. Arnulf Bishop - Critical Hit ((4*2)-3=5 Damage dealt) Arnulf Bishop vs. Sir Brickington - Damage (4-3=1 Damage taken) Brickington, you charge at your opponent, as he does at you, and you open the battle with a pair of hits: a hard one to his left side and then you get in a second that mostly grazes his hat before he can back away. The battle continues! Combatants: Sir Brickington (Brickington) 19-year old human male, Knight Level 4 Power: 8 (Level 4 + WP: 4) Defense: 4 (SP: 2 + SP: 2) Health: 13/13 (base HP: 10 + Level bonus: 3) Gold: 135 Equipment: Great Sword Mk. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal, or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking.
  22. And calculating the Rounds is a lot easier, which is why I think any new QM should start with a quest for players under Level 14. I did that for my first two quests. (granted, the reason I did that was because there were no players in the game over Level 7 when I hosted Quest 4, but I still recommend it) I was calculating the last Arena duel's Rounds, and I go, "Roll the dice, adjust for Level, Row, SP - wait, that's it?".
  23. vs. Prepare for battle! Combatants: Sir Brickington (Brickington) 19-year old human male, Knight Level 4 Power: 8 (Level 4 + WP: 4) Defense: 4 (SP: 2 + SP: 2) Health: 13/13 (base HP: 10 + Level bonus: 3) Gold: 135 Equipment: Great Sword Mk. II (WP: 4; greatsword), Triangle Shield (SP: 2), Winged Helmet (SP: 2; headwear) Inventory: Great Sword (WP: 3; greatsword), Bedroll, Shovel, Smoke Bomb, Grand Potion, Soma, Venoms (2) Arnulf Bishop (Shoker86) 30-year-old human male, Rogue Level 4 Power: 8 (Level 4 + WP: 4) Defense: 3 (SP: 3) Health: 10/10 (base HP: 7 + Level bonus: 3) Gold: 38 Equipment: Longsword (WP: 4; longsword), Tricorne (SP: 3; headwear) Inventory: Bedroll, Remedy, Potion, Venom Both of you, choose your targets and the Row from which you want to fight. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal, or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking.
  24. I do the same, which leaves me without any actions in the editor from the previous Round, so for me it is actually easier if the party retypes their actions instead of posting, "I repeat". (I'm pasting the new Order over the old action in order to make it easier to tell whose action I've already updated) But usually I'll have two tabs open to the quest, so it's not really that hard to scroll up and see who did what in the previous Round.
  25. I'm really not sure why I kept trying to do it... I knew she was going down soon and wanted the Vit/Spd/Wis, but still... I'm over the ragequit (and I still have my Necro left, although I obviously lack a couple Life necessary for a CWand for another Priest), but both because I've been dying so much and because I'm busy in real life right now, I'm taking about a month's break. I'll be back after that, and maybe open that Abyss key and a couple Draconis consolation keys.
