  1. Oh, that does seem familiar. Changing that definitely makes sense. "You rolled a Miss? Too bad, no XP for you!"
  2. I'm not completely sure about this, but I actually think that at one point early in the game, Flee was dependent on a roll, and that that was changed later on. I remember considering having Sisco/cralegoboy try to Flee the Direwolf battle in Quest 1 and not being sure if it would work.
  3. Tons of low-Level unfavored enemies with a party of AoE attackers, a Hunter's free XP.
  4. Wow, that's a lot of Scary Crows. And everyone but Skrall has a sort of AoE attack.
  5. Oh, that does make sense. If your opponent is going to sit in the Back Row, you have to move forward to the Front Row and open yourself up to taking full Damage if you want to deal full Damage.
  6. Right now, ranged weapons in the Arena only negate any penalty resulting from your Row, not the enemy's Row. So if you're using a ranged weapon, you can attack from the Back Row without Damage being halved because of your position (just like in a regular battle), but if your opponent is in the Back Row, Damage will still be halved because of that. (also just like in a regular battle when the enemy is Knocked Back or when you've rolled Damage while in the Back Row)In other words: You use a Ranged Weapon from the Front Row against an enemy in the Front Row - your Damage dealt is not reduced. You use a Ranged Weapon from the Back Row against an enemy in the Front Row - your Damage dealt is not reduced. You use a Ranged Weapon from the Front Row against an enemy in the Back Row - your Damage dealt is halved. You use a Ranged Weapon from the Back Row against an enemy in the Back Row - your Damage dealt is halved. You use a Melee Weapon from the Front Row against an enemy in the Front Row - your Damage dealt is not reduced. You use a Melee Weapon from the Back Row against an enemy in the Front Row - your Damage dealt is halved. You use a Melee Weapon from the Front Row against an enemy in the Back Row - your Damage dealt is halved. You use a Melee Weapon from the Back Row against an enemy in the Back Row - your Damage dealt is quartered. Yes, this is complicated, and we could very well have made the rule, "Ranged Weapons are not affected by either combatant's Row". But we felt that that would be unfair to players who normally get a defensive buff for fighting in the Back Row.
  7. Docken would get 240 HP.
  8. Also note that Cursed affects max HP, not current HP, so if the current HP is more than three points lower than the max HP, then the max HP will get lowered but the current HP won't. (Of course, if the current HP is is two or fewer points fewer than the max HP, then the max HP will be decreased by three and the current HP will be decreased since it has to remain equal to or less than the max HP.)
  9. Not when I consider that one of the veterans is Boomingham.
  10. We did have a concept for a Swashbuckler class somewhere in the Expert Class topic. I think it was WBD's. I wanted them to be Encouraged whenever they could make a pun related to the attack, but I don't think that was ever added to the concept.
  11. No, the advertised free poster was a Yoda Chronicles poster, lots of green with a big image of Yoda.
  12. I would hold on to the Flail for now, Pie, at least until after we finish Guffington 2. (If you're coming and if Zeph takes you.)
  13. I look in the direction indicated by Hybros, spotting the healer clad in green."I agree with Master Gibbin, we would make a formidable party. I'm not familiar with the Druid, but a dedicated healer is always a good thing to have."
  14. Yeah, there's been a lot of speculation that that would be a piece reused for Endor Leia in an Ewok Village. There is that exclusive that Marcos Bessa teased on his flickr a couple weeks ago, which he said was from a theme he'd never worked on before. Commenters thought that that referred to the Tower of Orthanc, but as it turned out, it didn't, and Star Wars is still a possibility...
  15. "Excellent, thank you."I remember that Master Nihai had one when we recently quested together in the Fields of Glory. I believe he's still around here somewhere. Tall Raider, shining golden armor, sandals with wings on them. I also saw a couple in Miss Hightribe's inventory when I looked to see what she was willing to sell. "Other than those two, I think the other heroes who possess Grating Stones are away on quests."
  16. No, Sandy just rearranges the equation slightly. Instead of (base Damage/Row)-SP=Damage, Sandy uses Health+SP-(base Damage/Row)=remaining Health. The answer is still the same, and the Damage is still halved for Row before the SP is subtracted. In the case of the Free Hit in question, most QMs use ((14/2)-7=0 Damage) while Sandy would use (38+7-(14/2)=38 Health). The answer is still the same: Tarn takes no Damage.
  17. I approach the group of Rogues trading gems. "Good day, Master Hybros, Master Gibbin. "Master Holla, that dagger of yours is powerful, but it must cost quite a bit to keep it maintained. Would you be interested in this Grating Stone?"
  18. 0 Damage. You have to divide the Damage in half for Row before you reduce it by SP.
  19. I said "Somewhere around 200-250".
  20. No, because JohnPaul calculated it as (14 Damage - SP: 7)/2 = 4 Damage, reducing Damage for SP before dividing it by two. (Your calculation and joeshmoe's calculation are both right, but different from JohnPaul's.) I probably would've used it on the Crossbow to upgrade for WP: 14 to WP: 15 (Right now WP: 15 is as high as I'd want to upgrade a weapon instead of focusing on defenses.), so it would have been used as 150 Gold. Your next upgrade is 290 Gold*, so I'd gain 50 Gold and you'd save 90 Gold...I'll sell it for 220 Gold. *Even though I don't think you'd use it for this next upgrade.
  21. Ooh, I have a Grinding Stone. Not sure how much I want for it. Somewhere around 200-250 Gold, probably. Not sure if she's selling, though; wouldn't sell me the Bright Polish.
  22. Oh, that's right, with the Pheles Rod, you can save me from the evil QM when my Aura is up! And JimB has the Eye-poking Sai, too, so we can Blind everything. I agree, wait a quest, go for 50.
  23. Oh, okay, that makes sense. I'm just thinking about the party we can put together for Guffington 2; having a tank isn't much use if you've got the Aura. Could still work, though, if you're going to switch to a different weapon after Special Mirror - get the Special Mirror into effect, allow the negative effects on Atramor to wear off quickly, then switch to the Flail to set up enemies for Guts to take down. Hybros Assassinates stuff, Docken tanks while Atramor recovers and heals if necessary. Repeat if necessary.
  24. Are you planning to switch to Sorcerer, Pie, or...?
  25. Since the game began in 2011, there have been 78,908 replies in the Heroica subforum. For comparison, the current leader in replies on EB is the Star Wars forum, which has had 172,254 replies... dating back to 2004. Heroica has vaulted the Mafia and RPG forum into second place on the board in terms of replies, ahead of Historic, ahead of Town, ahead of Pirates. So, yeah, this forum is due for a few slow days.
