  6. Elise, The devestation. It's horrifying. The recent war absolutely destroyed families. The crew and I went to see what we can do to help. He pulled alongside one of our nation's vessels and worked with them to transport some of the refugees. Rene talked to some of the soldiers, getting information on just how extensive the damage was. We didn't see the worst of it. One of the families we helped lost their mother in the conflict. The father is now having to raise two girls by himself. We're doing what we can to help, donating money, resources. Some of the refugees are being set up in some of our settlements, where hopefully they can get back to living life, even if it is in a new place. When we returned to our ship, I think I heard Jean, you know Jean, our big burly master gunner, crying down below deck. It's been difficult for everyone. All my love, Emile

  18. Matthias manages to snag a Stun Bomb (Deals 5 damage and the stunned-effect to all opponents when used.). He notices that Luke sees what Matthias does, but he says nothing to the druid. "Our good man Wilfred here will lead you to Grayson." All of the Tridentians look at William. Clearly they've dealt with this "man" before. And so Wilfred leads the Heroes, sniffing out the trail for Captain Grayson. After an hour, Wilfred takes the Heroes along the walls, and behind a bushes where they see... "Wilfred!" Grayson whispers. "And you brought Heroes. Here, quickly, get behind the bushes. I assume you've already met the others. No offense to Wilfred, but I have no idea what William sees in this dog. He keeps saying it's a man. Alright, you see those two back there? The scared witless man is our contact. Galedo is his name. He's locked up for something, I don't know what. I could take that one man by himself, but he's sure to call in some help. We need to free Galedo so he can help us get inside the Dens' residence. Any ideas?"

  21. "He's good at what he does." William looks at Wakorian. "He hails from Dastan, doing some work there before coming to Tridentia. He's a no-nonsense type of man. He was pretty cautious about even doing this, thinking we should continue to fortify the island. But even he realizes that we are not a warrior culture and becoming one on the island would change who we are." "I hope Grayson can convince you." Vindsval finds a small hairbrush, some grapes, a large Box of grenades- "Don't grab those," Traci interjects. "Those are for Rex. Once you guys are back, we can bring them to him and show Rex a map of the residence. The servant is supposed to be bringing one for us."
  22. "I understand how it looks," William counters, "but these are not good people. They've sent the raiders out to harass us and our people. They invaded our island and homes." "We've been in conflict with the Dens since the begining. It's not the best option, but it's the only one we have." "When we originally arrived in Tridentia, everything was peaceful. We used the dyes from berries to make clothing. We slowly expanded further into the land, but not even far. Then Calder Den, II started draining the color from the island, claiming it was his. The Heroes, including Vindsval here, stopped him. Then the remaining Dens, finding out what had happened to Calder, began to send pirates to attack our trading ships. They even raided the town." "Our commander, Grayson, is currently meeting one of the Den's servants. He's supposed to help us get inside and get to Calder Den, I. He can provide a first hand account of the tyranny of the Dens." "Yeah, but he should have been back by now..."

  24. "If they don't, hopefully they can now." "Yes, I'm far too big now to scramble up onto your shoulders," Luke says. "Now, I reason Heroica usually doesn't contract out its Heroes for assassinations, but hear me out on this one," William starts. "For a long time we've been plagued by the Den family. Calder Den, II was the first we had a run in with, back when we first called on Heroica. The third time, his father Calder ordered raiders to start harassing our ships. The raiders grew bold and attacked the island even. Luckily, with the help of Heroica we managed to beat them back. Their captain, Luthan, was imprisoned, and is currently awaiting sentencing. He did give us information on who it was attacking us." William walks over to a window and looks out at a majestic building in the distance. "That building there, Vindsval, you may recognize. It's where Calder Den and his grandson live. You went there with other Heroes to deliver a golden lotus flower to them." "The flower, if you don't know," Jackson chimes in, "has healing properties. The artists he called on used the flower to paint some of the house. We've had spies in their residence give us intelligence." "You might be jumping ahead there, Jackson." William looks back at the Heroes. "Yes, that did happen. Since the raids stopped, we as a town decided to go on the offensive for once. Captain Grayson, the leader of the militia, came here with Jackson, Traci, and Rex--our specialist in all things distance-- and started to scout out the area. We've been able to get one of the Dens' servants to become an informant. When we found out the Dens look to strike us again, we knew we had to call Heroica to stop the Dens. Luke and myself immediately came to Carthago to overlook the operation." "I've gotten pretty close to the house and looked around. It won't be easy to take the Dens down, but we have to try, or they are going to continue to harass Tridentia until they finally destroy it."
