  1. Good evening! If someone would be able to ship a sealed box to Germany, please shoot me a pm with an offer :) Looking forward to hearing from you, you lucky guys up there :) Best regards! Markus
  2. Great work all of you! Excellent wizard's shop, Matn! (As it is 2:53 in the morning here, i will keep myself short. ;) ) My backstory and the pic will be up in 2 weeks or something like that as i'm on vacation right now... So many inspiration here in Tuscany / Italy, i miss my bricks!! Keep up the great work so Avalonia will prosper (once more)..! Best regards!
  3. Great title. Thanks! But i need to do more with it to get such a title, don't i? Me too. I had prepared the final chapter halfway when i got the offer to stay a week in Tuscany. So i'm not quite sure how it might end. As i have time on this i might try some new things with cheese. Just too great, these pieces. All in all: Thanks for the encouragement. I will finish this as an free entry. But it may take time and i'm not sure how long.. Best regards!
  4. And there he has to say that he won't be able to make it in time. And as i am not eligible to enter with an WIP (which i wouldn't want either), that's it for me with Challenge 3. I might enter the stuff as an free build. The guardian is finished since Sunday but the final quest stage needs some polishing. And as i got the spontaneous offer to stay a week in Italy i rather have to pack my luggage then stacking bricks. Unfortunately. Best regards, your entries rock! (Though we might have a hard time with Kaliphin.. :/ I'm sorry, i'm not able to help - my apologies!)
  5. This guy here nailed it. As always. Use cheese slopes to get an oval as well as the pupil. Just like the cheese slope goddess over on flickr does - maybe working with something like this. (best i managed to find in very short time, hope it helps a bit) Best regards!
  6. Thank you for all your nice words! It's just a mine. Thanks for your confidence that the rest will be as great as the start. (It will be better, much better Anyone that saw my WIP of one of my smaller guardians may know what i mean. Shameless plug. ) I don't know when i'm able to post chapter 2 but it might take till tomorrow. We'll see. Best regards!
  7. Dang! We have a Avalonian champion. If this entry doesn't come out best of the Avalonian entries, i don't know what to say. You almost made me stop building for challenge 3 with this thing and i thank you for encouraging me to keep building. But when you posted the final thing i thought about quitting for the 2nd time. Which is my way to say: Awesome! (And as you have seen, i didn't stop.. :) ) Finally someone is using a large amount of dark red in a house (and it's roof). I have this planned for months and a large amount of dark red cheese slopes is eager to take it's place. ;) Furthermore: Wolfpack! Wooho! But: I dislike the placement of the guards with the wolfs on the right of the tower. They are too.. normal there. And then, your church. In short: It's great. In long version: It's awesome ;) Great landscaping and a great building! So, critique, as we are on a very high level here: The doors in the church in my opinion tend to destroy the great look as they look a bit rushed. And: Your story is too simple. You have great guardians, i want more fighting! This nocturnian Drow might be on my side with this! Best regards, ZC. You did excellent!
  8. Lovely! Great story, so unique. Great photography, the flower is great! And these techniques..! (For the record: Are you german? Or german speaking?) Best regards!
  9. Awesome job here! I don't know, what's best: The moc, the photography, the story or the whole presentation? I think, this might be the top entry as of today.. (Nooo, i would love to have the joust ) Best regards, keep up the great work!
  10. This thing is great. So much details here, nice colors, really nicely done. And the dark red is just great with the Avalonian colors. (The only thing bothering me - no critique to you: As everyone is building houses in this - DCs - style, they seem to get generic. Not bad, but too many buildings in this style. Might work on this problem.. ) Best regards!
  11. Great photography and characters! The entrance is awesome as well are your guardians. Only thing bothering me is the stained glass window. It's too simple when you compare it to the rest of the build. But: Awesome, as always. Challenge 3 might be the most contested one. Best regards!
  12. Do i need to write "Awesome!"? No, i don't. As all of your work is.. So see this as a "thank you". For inspiration and incentive. Great techniques as always and the floor in the dwarvens throne room might in one way or another get recycled in my final challenge 3 chapter. Thanks for striking me with ideas half past 7 in the morning :) Best regards!
  13. Dang, awesome. And i got a horse :) If you don't mind, swap my head with this one: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpx68 . And: Assemble the hairs with the head first, then put them gently on the torso. The head isn't completely on the torso, that's the trick. Hope, you have the mentioned head, otherwise i'm truly satisfied! Great work assembling Avalonia! (Now we only need as much entries for challenge 3 as people are on this shot ;) My next chapter might take till tomorrow. Much work to do today! Best regards!
  14. Rather late i started my Challenge 3 entries. You may find them here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=69469 Currently online is chapter 1 of 4 (or 5). Since the deadline is saturday i might produce a build per day, who knows ;) The story is.. promising. Stay tuned! (wohooo.. he teases once more) Best regards!
  15. Chapter 1: Stored in the heart of the earth. Here i was. Following the advice of one of my wise archmages i began my journey around the elemental earth crystal here. In front of my mine. Reportedly the miners unearthed some ancient ruin when they tried to dug a new mine shaft. Along with some unfriendly guardians that were trying to protect something. I had to get to the bottom of this when Archmage Septua found out that this might lead to one of the four crystals whole Historica was after. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I will post the following chapters in this thread. Stay tuned, three days to go ;)
  16. YES! I already HAD a doppelganger! (de Gothia, you know who i'm speaking of )
  17. I just want to sign ZCs first post. Everything said there: Great work you did here! I especially love the medium blue (?) and dark brown combo and i think i might try this with some maersk blue.. (yummy!). ;) And combining the lawn gnome with the series 1 forestman torso turns out very very nice..! Of all the great details there is one tiny thing that bothers me: I dislike the double windows on the left side of the gardeners house. I think, a brick in between would have made the thing a bit better. But thats critique on a very high level.. :) Best regards!
  18. So. I finally got an idea. Nothing revolutionary but not bad. A small teaser: Any guesses? Best regards!
  19. Tough question you have here. I broke down the sixth attempt in a row yesterday evening but as far as i know myself that's standard. 11 days till the deadline, too much to get me really motivated. Or skillful. I dont know. Problem is, i have no striking ideas atm. Filled quite a bunch of pages in my notebook but nothing that's great imo. (ZC: Your church is most demotivating, when you're disliking your own ideas..! ;) ) I won't promise but I'm pretty sure that i will come up with something great as i am a guy who gets great under pressure. Let's look for inspiration once more. Glad that we have a national holiday today. Best regards!
  20. I just have to sign this: I would feel honored to be featured in your moc! Best regards!
  21. Ah. Now i know what you mean. It was intended to be shop windows. These are the mentioned Harry Potter windows but instead of using the known frames i constructed a custom one using a lot of snot and these as "railing". Very elaborate but i dislike the normal frames and would take my solution over the official one everytime. If you want, i can provide some pictures as this building is still standing in a cabinet.. Greetings!
  22. Thanks for all your nice comments, never found time to respond.. May i know which oriental doors you mean? Best regards!
  23. From Moria, Avalonia i present Sir Sagittarius: Best regards! May the best win!
  24. Hail from Avalonia. Active builder for sure though i have to manage building for Avalonia and normal life quite a bit which currently results in less builds. Feedback is great, also the inspiration i can draw from GoH. As a designer having such a amount of creative people in one place is great. I'm hoping that GoH continues as this is currently my only lego project and the main reason for visiting eb everyday. GoH is also responsible that i started building again which is also a great plus. Despite posting very few things i feel quite included. I think transparency is a great point. I would love to see my points f.e. in the official topic of my build when i'm building for a challenge. Or a Top5 which is definitely more encouraging than just knowing who came in first. It may discourage people that get very few points but i think it would also improve various skills as you can differ which things are great and which not. I also would love to see a contribution to the challenges from the leaders, maybe outside of the official competition. I think that would encourage many people though i understand that it's very time consuming to have a life, build other things, lead a guild, ect.. As Hersbrucker says, the prizes are great and are a great bait but for me, it's the community and not the prizes why i love this project. To finance possible future prizes you could for example open an account where people could send money to in case of wanting to support GoH. I think that should not be underestimated and many builders would take part in this. Its 3am so i definitely have to go to bed, hope i could help. Good night and best regards!
  25. Not a bad idea, Captain Beerbeard. Though I think that posting in this thread would be more effective as also the guys that don't build for challenge 3 would have the chance to comment.. You might say that then the other guilds would see your build and then know what to beat which is definitely a point but i think that this definitely gets less important because of the different styles and elementary types.. To answer your question: I still don't know whether I will make it in time but I'm hoping so. Despite of this i would love to help you all with your builds if you want me to.. No problem at all, especially when I'm not entering (which I don't hope). So.. Feel free :) Best regards, hoping to see some wip-stuff!
