When is LDD/PAB updated?
Lalror replied to RubeusHagrid's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
LDD Update This confirms that there will be an update soon. At first, all it looked like to me is a brick palette change, but when they mention "major changes," I can't help but wonder what they have in store for us. -
OpenStreetMap Lego city?
Lalror replied to Dilvish's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The idea is good, I would love to set up some digital Lego world completely created by AFOL's, that we could all contribute to and build in. The problem is that currently, we would have do something more like a LDD RCB for it to even get close. If there was a dedicated server, that could hold the model, and allow people to come and edit the "world," then it would be a lot easier to do what you are talking about. Still, a great idea, and I hope that Lego, or anybody else has some way of making this work. Maybe blowing up the properties mode in LU the game, and allowing multiple people to contribute would work. ~Lalror -

Hey, I too am looking to the digital world as there is far better selection than what I have in physical bricks. That said, I am also using LDD some and its great to have new people, not only joining this site, but that are fans of LDD! Hope to see you around! ~Lalror

LDRAW.XML missing in LDD4
Lalror replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Now, just ask them if we can use the tools that they use to export to other file formats, and I will be content. -
Heh heh heh, I can admit that I was a little bit dazed by the pink for a few minutes. But it does look pretty cool, and I guess I will say hello to hello kitty! ~Lalror

Thanks for the info. I didn't know there was that much info on the program already. Now, if only we could get some news for LDD5... ~Lalror -
[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests
Lalror replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I am working on what is basically a compilation of feature request. The rendering is already on there, and in my opinion, its a good idea. I also agree with you about the edge lines, sometimes they look too big, or to small, or are not the right color. -
Great to have you here! Man-U rocks!!! Its really cool, and I am glad that you found out, how big of a community there is for AFOL's. Its always good to have new members, and I hope to see some of your moc's soon! ~Lalror

That is possibly one of the things I enjoy most about LDD, the colors. Its nice being able to use colors that are found only on Hero Factory pieces, and it really gives a lot more options in terms of creativity!

When is LDD/PAB updated?
Lalror replied to RubeusHagrid's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Although I am not a huge fan of Bionicle/Hero Factory, I am kinda curious as to what the Recon Team is. I guess time will tell, thanks for the info Brickdoctor! ~Lalror -
[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests

Definitely need a positionable camera, and maybe a camera fly mode. Currently the navigation method for LDD isn't great, but isn't terrible either. 1st person view would be nice as a fig, or 3rd person view and you could actually control the fig. Either way, it anything could always be improved. Just wait and see! ~Lalror -
Welcome to the forum Dongo! Hope to see you around, great to have you here. ~Lalror

How so, I remember for mine, the file that I needed to edit was blocked by my computer, so I had to copy that file, edit it, and then delete the other one and replace it with the one that I had copied for it to work. Also, some people have trouble viewing the files. What exactly do you mean by not working? ~Lalror

If you take a looks at any of the faction gear, you will see that there are practically no real Lego pieces used. Also, I remember hearing the devs for Lego Universe mention that they had a program that the LUP's used and that after a day they got the hang of it. It didn't sound like they were talking about LDD, and these pictures don't look like it either.

Wow, for this being your first moc in 15 years, I must say this is better than anything I have ever seen. Great job, I hope to see more!

I was considering doing that, or trying to eliminate the base altogether, but I kinda wanted a cool chassis, and so I used a simple 2x10 to give it what I thought was a good looking appearance. Its also a similar to some old cars that I have seen which was what I was trying to do. Thanks for your kind words, I hope to try to do some more LDD moc's here soon. ~Lalror

Lego Universe has a lot of custom pieces that Lego does not actually produce physically. So I am positive that the LU mode is not directly related to the game. The Lego Universe mode was never used as a development tool that I know of for the game, but instead, was named after the games building mode which was similar to LDD save for the fact that it contained all of the pieces, and had all of the colors. Hence the name Lego Universe mode. Hope this helps! ~Lalror
