  1. I was going to say that I didn't think it was a baseplate, but more of a group of (regular?) plates bound together. But looking at it again, I do believe you are right -- it seems they are baseplates, and more than just one.
  2. WOW! Just... WOW! Thumbs up! Very high up!
  3. I hope we get Black Falcons and Forestmen  Both factions could be part of a "Kingdoms 2" line/theme, with new sets for the Lion Knights and the Dragons too. I think the Dragon Knights were just great, but Lego really let the faction down -- their buildings were just lacking! If/when we get the Black Falcons, I hope we get modern versions of great sets from the past like 6074 Black Falcons Fortress -- much like 7096 King's Castle looked like an "updated" version of 6080. But more, MANY more minifigs in each set, please!
  4. Nice city you got there! I like the layout with the Fire Brigade on one side of the Grand Emporium and the PetShop on the other! The city is crowded with vehicles -- it must be due to that nice Bolt car dealership!
  5. I don't want to sound like the party pooper, but... Well, I've been thinking about this ever since the first Lego LotR pics came out. And even though the big ToyFair pic did improve the LotR line for me, I still have to say I'm not excited about the LotR sets. The minifigs are just great, a must get for anyone who likes Lego or The Lord of the Rings. But the sets? Well... Gandalf Arrives seems nice, but only because it's got Gandalf and Frodo and it's the least expensive of them all. The Mines of Moria, Attack on Weathertop, Shelob Attacks and Uruk-hai Army seems just meh to me -- nothing special. Apart from the minifigs, that is. I'm not crazy about minifigs; I just like them as much as the next Lego fan, but so far, they DO seem like the highlight of the entire line. The Orc Mine and The Battle for Helm's Deep are probably the only sets that really stand out for me, and even they make me think twice before putting any money into the line. Oh, well. I do want every minifig, so I guess I'll be putting some money into this line anyway. But I do hope that the first reviews and in-hand pics make me a little more cheerful about the whole Lego LotR line. And I also hope the second wave of sets gets a lot better. At least in the preliminary pictures. Harry Potter has some great sets and minifigs. So does Star Wars. Pirates of the Caribbean? Great minifigs, two great ships, but meh sets (in my humble opinion, that is). The Lord of the Rings line seems to be going down the same way PotC did, and that's just not good. Not good at all. Anyway, I hope I do bite my tongue when the sets are out. Sorry if I sound a bit(!) too grumpy. It's just that so far I don't see anything but the minifigs to be cheerful about.
  6. Not in the book, but he may have a cameo in the movie(s) -- the White Council attackes Sauron ("the Necromancer") during the time of the Hobbit, and Saruman was in the Council.
  7. I hope we get some exclusives, like Uruk- or Riders of Rohan-army building sets -- like the Kingdoms 5-minifig army building ones, maybe with a troll here and a new horse there.
  8. http://www.theonering.net/ is mantained by people who are very close to Peter Jackson, so I wouldn't doubt it's real. But I haven't seen anything on Lego.com yet.
  9. How come the new LEGOlas poster has not been frontpaged yet? http://www-images.theonering.org/torwp/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/LEGO-LOTR_Legolas.pdf-1-page.png
  10. Thanks a lot for the pics!
  11. Wow, very nice! Beautiful carriage you got there!
  12. Wow! Nice town you got there! I love the "soundtrack" -- really makes you feel in a city!
  13. Wow! Now that's a mean machine! Looks badass - both the interior and the exterior! Great work, man!
  14. I'm Brazilian and I live in Brazil, where Lego costs up to x2, x3 or sometimes x4 times its actual price
  15. Quick because I have to grab lunch: I'd LOVE if Europa becomes the next Castle/Kingdoms/Pirates theme when these themes come back (sometime after LotR).
  16. Found this today at BleedingCool.com. Check it out and tell me what you think -- http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/01/10/best-star-wars-lego-corporate-response-ever/ I just think they both have good arguments, but I do buy the "corporate response."
  17. Thanks a lot for the review. It was great -- enlightening! I can't wait to have this set in-hand!
  18. Thanks a lot for the pics, WallyThe Cat! Appreciated!!!
  19. Thanks so much for the review so far -- great review and awesome pics! Although tomorrow is Monday (bleh!), I can't wait for it to read (and see!) the second part of your review!
  20. Wow! Very nice MOC! I love it! The working TV is just amazing! Great job!
  21. Thanks for the report, but... I'm sorry, I couldn't really read it. The moment I saw the first couple of damaged pieces, butterflies went flying in my stomach. Although important and informative, the report is not for the faint of Lego heart...
  22. Thanks for the review! This set looks really nice!
  23. Hi there! Nice design. I like how it looks and the mods you did to the original. Only thing I'd change is the double doors for a single "wood" door (like those of the MMV and 7946). Thumbs up!
  24. I asked Lego on Twitter about Kingdoms in 2012 -- you can find the answer in this topic here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60208&st=495 In short, there will be no Kingdom sets in 2012 but for the Kindoms Joust.
