I can see battlepacks of the Last Alliance hitting the stores! Maybe a mix of Elves and Men, or packs for Men, Elves and Orcs. Now that would be great. I'm still waiting for some Riders of Rohan battlepacks too.

I hope we get more Old Trilogy sets in 2013. The ones from 2012 just rock!

That's the one I meant As I said, Lego designers don't usually keep an eye for that. As your MOCs are so incredibly detailed as they are LT, I thought I should throw my 2 cents in. But I see your point too. K-e-e-p-o-n-b-r-i-c-k-i-n-g!

Impressive work as always, LT! You got an eye -- or two! -- for detail. I like the interior of your supermarket, but the way that shelf is, there's no way your minifigs can get anything from it! As silly as it may sound, for Lego designers don't usually care about that, what if you moved the shelf a bit, leaving the back of it to the back of the building (and the front of the shelf facing the front of the supermarket)? Just my 2 cents, hope that's any help.

Fantastic, awesome, shocking, stunning, amazing! Just curious: is there an LDD of it? How was it planned?

Perhaps because silver is less valuable than gold. I'd say Lego is in its third Golden Age, that's for sure. Or maybe a diamond or platinum one. As nostalgic as I am, I do believe the sets we get today are far better -- both in design and quality -- than the ones from my adolescence in the 90's.

What look to be the 2012 "must have" sets
Artifex replied to Faefrost's topic in General LEGO Discussion
11 years? Talk for yourself! I've waited for Lego LotR since I first knew about Lego. And about The Lord of the Rings! -
Thanks A LOT, Harnbak! I was finally able to access the site and download the software after your advice! Thanks again!

Thanks for the link, but it's still not working. I've tried accessing the website with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Nothing =(

Thanks for the nice tips! That hamburger just made me hungry!

Hi there! I can't seem to be able to reach the BlueBrick web site -- is it down? If so, is there any link from where I can download BlueBrick? Thanks in advance and sorry if I broke some forum or etiquette rule.

Lego turning 55 in 2013... So what do WE get?
Artifex replied to Artifex's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Care to develop? Do I smell inside info? News from 2013 sets? Please say it! -
Good luck with the new place. I wish you can get that layout ready in your new place no time!
-
Wow! Now that's an impressive build! Did you use round studs for the entire interior of the tower structure?
-
Thanks! Is it just like every other Lego store? I mean, there's no trouble finding Lego exclusive sets and most (all) sets, is there? Sorry if my doubts sound dumb, I'm just trying to find the best store. The Westfield Lego stores are the same size that of Bluewater? EDIT: please don't mind my last post. I just googled the store up and read reviews and watched a couple of videos. Nice place!

Hi there! What's the best place to buy Lego in London? I know there's an official Lego Store at the Bluewater shopping centre, but is there a store just as good closer to London? Or in London? And are the prices there fair? Hamleys is not usually the place with the best prices.

I just downloaded LDD. Lets see how that works.

What look to be the 2012 "must have" sets
Artifex replied to Faefrost's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is definitely one of the best years to be a fan of Lego! I love almost every set you mentioned (I'm not really into Ninjago and Star Wars), so here's my top five: 1 -- Town Hall. Big, massive, solid building. Impressive in almost every feature. 2 -- Haunted House. Big, scary and one of the top Lego designs ever! Great minifigs too! 3 -- Desert Skiff. I'm not really a Lego Star Wars collector/buyer, but this set really got me. Simple and awesome -- simply awesome! And what a great assortment of minifigs! 4 -- 5001130 The Battle of Helm's Deep Collection. Ok, I know I'm cheating. This is actually two sets in one. But how can you get one and not get the other? The Uruk-hai army is a runner up for the best set in 2012! And the rohirric castle is just... Rohirric! What's there not to love it?! 5 -- City Garage. It's a garage. It's a service station. It's big. It's got 4 nice cars. And one of the cars is this awesome van. 'Nuff said! 6 -- Bonus sets. Any of the "big cars": Ambulance, Recycling Truck, Tipper Truck, Garbage Truck... And there's a special mention here to the Heavy-Duty Helicopter. These are my favorites. As for the sets that have already written their name in Lego history, I'd go with: 1 -- The Lord of the Rings. 'Nuff said. 2 -- Monster Fighters. I love the "don't take me serious" approach of this theme! Vampyre Castle is amazing! And don't forget the Vampyre Hearse and the Ghost Train! 3 -- Friends. Look at the colors and designs of this theme. They are just awesome! And the tools? Wow! The City Park Café will sell a lot even if only for the cooking and eating tools! 4 -- City. The big cars have it. People will be buying tipper trucks and recycling trucks till there's no room left in their city garages. Which are all around the town hall... 5 -- Star Wars. Fans of the Old Trilogy are still drooling for the skiffs, palaces, X-Wings and Tie Fighters Lego put out this year. 6 -- It's only a bet, but... Wait to see the 2012 winter village set... -
Is there a computer tool to help plan a city/town layout? And if so, does it have Lego road plates (that we can turn and move as needed)? Please share your links. Thanks in advance! EDIT: just found this very interesting website -- http://www.lionsgatemodels.com/index.htm and this software here -- http://www.ngltc.org/train_depot/td.htm

Is there going to be a second wave of LotR sets in 2012? The Hobbit is coming out on December, so I guess there's something yet to be seen, but it would be good to have some confirmation...

When Lego turned 50 in 2008 we got the 10184 Town Plan... I believe there will be a set celebrating Lego's 55th anniversary next year -- but I'm not sure what it will be. I don't think it will be a new town plan, but it will probably be something along those lines. The more I think about it, the harder it gets to guess what Lego may (or may not ) be planninng. This year's modular building is the town hall, which we also got in the 2008 town plan. We also got a hospital (well, sort of) and a garage (with a little service station) in 2012. Perhaps the next modular will be a movie theatre/cinema and the "anniversary set" a circus or zoo with lots of animals. Yeah, I know how silly that sounds. A circus? A zoo? I don't think there's ever been any Lego set along those lines... What makes them perfect candidates, isn't it? Ah, the wishful thinking... What do you think? Is there going to be a 55 anniversary set? And if so, what will it be? EDIT: I was just wondering... An apartment building is another thing we seldom -- if ever -- see.

I'm out of words. If OI had any, they'd be awesome, impressive, fantastic, amazing... And many others on those same lines. It looks so good I can feel the humidity! -
This is one of the best town displays around, and definetely one of my personal favorites! Congratz for all your hard wordk, LT! I know this is much more than "work", a real thing born out of love.
