  1. Wohoo - now that sounds intriguing! Cannot wait to see photos of these extra special manatees!
  2. Damn! I've got to start building!
  3. Hi Arlo and welcome to Eurobricks! Indeed this is a wonderful resource for everything LEGO-related. Feel free to write a bit more about yourself: How old are you and what is your main interest in LEGO (City, Star Wars, Technic...)? This might be interesting for others. If there are questions or problems don't hesitate to ask here or contact me or any other staff member.
  4. Sorry for getting to your question late: To be fair to alle the contestants I propose NOT to use decals. Feel free to show your decals next to the model nevertheless.
  5. I do have another piggy guy as well, but for the same reason like you I won't sacrifice him just for the legs. (Even if I have to pay 5€ just for them ... ) The bright light orange Torso cand be found in older (2012) firemen sets or series 14 tiger lady or LEGO Batman movie Eraser. The bright orange hands were the problem: They are pretty rare, but I found them for 2€ each. Brasso is perfect for removing the printings without harming the ABS underneath. When I build up the pedestal for the Statue of Liberty I had to use 40 plain tan 4x4 radar dishes. They were (and are) fairly expensive that color and hard to get by with this amount, so I chose to buy Viking's shields and removed the printing with Brasso. Here are some photos: This is what you need: Take the towel, put a small amount of Brasso on it and then: RUB! After a while you will get this: -> -> and finally this No scratches, no marks. It is easy with shields, but minifig parts are more complicated to handle with all their corners and edges. I wouldn't dare to de-brasso a chrome part though. For the elves set:You are referring to this set? It comes with a magazine. I'm not sure if the minifig head really is magenta, but I will give it a try. EDIT: Bought the 'set' - it IS magenta! And you tell me after I ordered this head for 'just' 2,90€
  6. Me too! Here's what I have been doing lately (with a little help of Brasso ): And the road I still have to travel... I still cannot believe I sold the piggy guy from series 12 for peanuts without realizing I was missing the bright pink feet.
  7. Wait. Isn't that supposed to happen with ... well, most of the LEGO parts?
  8. Thanks a lot, Milo! I didn't know umbrella, teapot and hourglass even existed. Are these friends/Disney/elves accessories?
  9. Sure. PM sent. But how the ... did you get triple points?
  10. Thank you for the kind offer! I had to check first and it seems I only have older coins. So yes, if you can provide me with one of each? I do have the polish coins.
  11. One would be fine. The nicest one please.
  12. I always look for foreign coins. The one I haven't got from the U.S. would be a 1$-coin.
  13. Be my guest. That coupon is valid for 5 adults. So we still have room for another 4 who want to join in last minute.
  14. Will you ever read what I wrote? I still have a coupon to get in for 22,50€. But if you insist to pay just 10€ less...
  15. I am looking for the mini Beetle... ...but I don't think anyone will not keep it, right?
  16. The unspeakable did already happen: Bonaparte finally had to cancel his appearance. (see above) Lucky you, he would have stayed in your holiday flat. If your roommates don't mind, she's more than welcome!
  17. Good, you mention it. I own an SBrick and don't really know what to do with it. Your help and guidance will be appreciated!
  18. Create a BrickHeadz of yourself? You will be famous for Singapore at the event.
  19. Touché! But this time there are no boundary rules.
  20. So do I. The video is indeed a nice treat for all the modular AFOL fans. Can't wait how the 25th modular will look like!
  21. You decide. For those who aren't aware how the Brickheadz are built, look here. But you don't have to build it this way - this is a fun contest after all. So remember not to take everything too serious. But I don't want to take every pressure from you: Nevertheless we will reward the results. 1st - 3rd place will be chosen from a jury that is all of us.
  22. If you don't find them here in the trading post, you should look for the bricks in the Fabrik, mentioned over here.
  23. For those who haven't been to the Fabrik yet: 9€ / 100g is not really cheap! Think before you buy - 100g are very easily achieved when browsing the shop drooling over the parts selection. Most common bricks are far cheaper at Bricklink or even S@H. Choose the lightweights and the hard to get pieces. Sometimes they sell bricks you will not find elsewhere. I remember transparent 2x4 bricks and lime trees. There will be enough eventees to guide you through. Or help yourself with your mobile phone and Bricklink's weight info. For example a 2x4 brick weighs 2,32g. For 9€ you'll get 43 bricks and for a single brick you pay almost 21c. At Bricklink most colours sell for 7-8c, but if you want a bright green one, you have to pay up to 10€ per brick! I repost the most interesting part of the link from zusammengebaut.de, image is from Claus-Mark Hahn: And now I'm rethinking my shopping list. Round tiles, 1x1 pyramid plates!
