    Help on ideas?

Or writing? How about a trailer with a crane arm, or a trailer carrying wreckages (cars, etc.). Or perhaps you could find a way of making a sheet to cover something on the back. You know, like it's a secret.
  2. I presumed it's because he was put on the 'bad kids' list. I don't know though. Whereas I've been building solid for about 10/11 years. It's not necessarily how many bricks you have though, it's what you do with them. Less is more and all that. Which is better: a simple elegant MOC with a small piece count; or an overcrowded, 'ugly' MOC with vast numbers of pieces used for the sake of it, doing nothing for the MOC in question? Contest's are mainly about having fun and sharing what we can do, not just about winning. Obviously someone has to win, but other participants should be pleased that they at least entered, and shared something they've achieved.
  3. There you go, Capn. But if we're getting technical there should be two. One to carry the generator, one to carry the projector. ;-) For what it's worth, the basic troops of the GGA are Militiagungs. ;-)
  4. In fact, villain hideouts would be a good idea. Like Riddler's hideout (but obviously with more than just a gate ;-) ), you could have the Penguin's Iceberg Lounge, Mr Freeze's meat refrigeration plant, the Joker's clown-themed lair and the Ventriloquist's, erm, apartment.
  5. But there's a good reason for stickers. They keep the price we pay down. Too many printed pieces would cause a rise in production prices and thus a rise in retail prices. That's why, for example, Exo-Force sets can't have printed pieces because the
  6. Ant-Man I've heard of elsewhere as well. Still, that's a nice run of films. Some of them seem a bit do-them-for-the-sake-of-it for, but all have potential. If only we could get as many DC films...
  7. Yeah, but they were cool, light-up, bio-scanning marker pens. ;-)
  8. Perhaps someone with a reasonable amount of authority here. hint hint
  9. Perhaps. It might also be a bit of this: The Shado Mobile from UFO.
  10. Like the cardboard blaster-thing? I actually think that novelty items can help to further a line, for example stationary. Although the cardboard blaster-thing does have me questioning that.
  11. Iron Man's supposed to be fighting Mandarin isn't he? Anyway, I know there's supposed to be a JLA film coming, so I'd like to see that done properly. Hmm, Avengers. Yeah, that'd be good. Perhaps with Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-man and Wolverine amongst others.
  12. And Fantastic Four 2. I forgot about that one as well.
  13. Ardal O'Hanlon's playing one. But the Cyberman and the Daleks (and possibly the Master to a certain extent) are classics and iconic. They make the show as much as the Doctor does. Docotr Who without the Daleks is a bit like Batman without the Joker. Yes, new monster's are important, but the old enemies tie the show together. Without returning enemies, the new series would feel stand-alone to the classic series. Here's some interesting trivia, the producer of the first series was reluctant to use Terry Nation's Dalek story for the second story of the series (back in 1963/64). But no-one could think of anything else, so they had to use the Daleks. And nothing was ever the same again. Favourite episode? Classic: Genesis of the Daleks *y* Modern: I don't know, they've all been of such high standard and calibre, it's difficult to chose. I think 'Love and Monsters' was better than a lot of other people thought. It was pretty funny.
  14. This? The C-9979 Landing Craft. Yes. ;-)
  15. But... that can't be Vegas. Grissom and co aren't investigating a bizarre and puzzling murder! ;-) CSI for anyone that didn't know.
  16. I know. I agree with Xenologer. Not a problem changing the piece, but the problem lies with mixing the old and new slopes in sets. But like I said, I get over it by building symetrically and in MOCs I try to use one type of slope, or at least 'hide' the other. I agree it's a bit annoying, but there're ways to get round it. You could always look at MOCs from further away... ;-) The last two are still brick-made, as are the Bionicle playsets (albeit to a slightly lesser extent). But then again, if you're saying that Lego are trying to appeal to different markets with the three examples you pointed out, what are thjey doing with Star Wars, Batman and Space? Appealing to different markets...
  17. Wow! Nice. I like the bulkiness of the whole thing, but it's not so much that it looks 'fat.' I really like the cockpit area. It's nice and simple, but has a nice level of detail in the simplicity. The greebles are good too, especially on the underside. Side doors are good on APC (IMO), but in this case I think the shape screams out for a back door alone. Side doors would just make it too different from the good shape it has now. It reminds me of something from the front view, but I can't think what...
  18. The pieces are changing with the times, and these changes may well further the utily of the piece. For example the 'wing' I posted earlier can (I think) be placed on top of other pieces directly, rather than having to be raised.
  19. Made of polystyrene... Me? Definately Star Wars. But that's not to say I don't like Star Trek. The classic series at least. I've never really taken to the others. Plenty of the classic episodes are really good, and 'City on the Edge of Forever' is just *y* . But, I know more about Star Wars and I've seen more of Star Wars, so the preference lies there. I'm sure if I'd grown up more with Star Trek, I'd prefer that. Here's a good fact. There're some people who've done degrees in the Force, and you can buy English/Klingon translation dictionaries. :-D "That is illogical captain." X-D
  20. I have yeah. Pretty good, especially Nightbeat. Not sure about favourite figure, but my favourite character is definately Shockwave. *wub* That said however, I do quite like the G1 Grimlock toy. I don't own him though.
  21. Yeah, the motorway under New New York (New Earth). Apparantly, this episode used the most CGI of the whole series. For the motorway bits probably. Found these: Fictional Mr Saxon website (Possibly non-BBC, possible spoilers) Lazlabs webite (Dr Lazarus) Fictional Martha Jones Myspace
  22. I have to go quite far away and then zoom in on the computer using a selection/crop tool. :-| I tend to just photograph on my windowsill, because I get a nice amount of outdoor light and a ready made white background (unless it's a tall MOC). It's the brightest place I can find, but it's by no means ideal. You can look at the results in my Brickshelf (how's that for self-promotion ;-) ).
  23. Quite a few pieces now have started to crop up with reinforced studs. None spring to mind, but I know there're a few. Another thing is the 'tube' of 2x2 and 2x3 bricks having a small hole in the middle as per 2x4s, and yet another is the addition of stud notches to these pieces:
  24. So, Episode 2: The Shakespeare Code Not a bad episode. I liked all the Doctor/Shakespeare back-and-forth with quotes. That was pretty funny. The Sycorax one had me laughing. It's good that no mentions of the other times the Doctor's met Shakespeare (off-screen) were made, neither contradicting nor confirming anything. And the Doctor is Queen Elizabeth's arch-nemesis :-D Next weeks looks good too. A darker side of New Earth, and the Secret...
  25. Actually there is an Iron Man film scheduled, I think, for next year.
