  1. Very nice with an interesting color scheme. Your doctor scared me a bit just walking around with a knife like that.
  2. Oh, sorry, I think I was the one that said "IGAs are too big, kthxbye." Well, you've convinced me. Looking good with the revisions.
  3. Ah, that's what I need! Thanks. I'm think I'm going to attempt a BT3 MOC... although my lime green is woefully small, I might be able to come up with something.... I don't have the new BT torso either, havta get creative.
  4. Hiya! This is a homage (or spoof, maybe) to one of my favorite sets in recent memory - Space Police 3 5984 "Lunar Limo." So, I built my own with a spin on it: - Reversed the black and purple accent color scheme to white with purple accents. - Made it curvy instead of angular. - Enlarged the interior - proper to a luxury limousine! - Added a real way to get in and out (no "hand of God") - Kept details reminiscent of modern cars and limos, but also worked in details reminiscent of luxury boats (spoiler, cabin detail on left side. - Made an even bigger trunk. - Instead of the "Brickfather" and henchmen, made it a civilian vehicle. Limo for a celeb (Britney Montana, meybe?) with agent and driver. - Kept some of the wing locations / styles and proportions. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for looking! The best way to view this (so I don't have to resize everything) is with the higher res photos and tagged items here at my Flickr album! But if you like MOCPages it's there too. A teaser shot (sized for EB) here: Hope you enjoyed and thanks for looking!
  5. SICK HAWTNESS. Well done. Don't think I've seen that color scheme in a while, if ever, and I love seeing color schemes for the first time. Slick slick with a couple nice nice details to round out. Engine is in the "why didn't I think of that" category. This reminds me - I have a orange / black Sci-Fi MOC I haven't posted yet! Ha! Gotta get to that.
  6. Most of my thoughts are already here. But for sake of volume: 1. Galidor if it counts. No need to debate this? 2. Roboforce. Had some okay pieces, but really ugly design. A lot of early LEGO mech design wasn't too hot, we know that, but many still look okay or at least interesting to a homage standpoint now - some of the classic space and Spyrus. Roboforce had the "robo-chicken" and a color scheme that wasn't even consistent through 4 sets... I did like the mini-figs though. 3. Mars Mission. I don't know why I don't like these. I actually like the white / orange color scheme. Maybe it was the useless jelly aliens? Maybe I wanted another classicy space theme instead of Mars Volume 2? I don't know. In hindsight now I wonder how much I like consistent color schemes... I bash RoboF for inconsistent scheme yet don't MM looks kinda boring - everything is either orange / white or lime green / black. Confused myself.
  7. Stellar! Great homage to the original set and is full of nice details. I love the rock (cheese slope) ladder and don't think I've seen that before. This reminds me that I have a lot of Forestmen figs / pieces and don't think I've ever MOCed with them before. I think I need to do that soon!
  8. I like them. Keep building. Oh, you might try a soft toothbrush or something, your cars are extremely dusty! Layers and layers I see!
  9. Nice lead up to the reveal! Well done. Now turn it into a theme park ride!
  10. Some interesting (messy, in a good way) details here and there, but it's too... fat, maybe? It needs some wings, they seem too short for this to get any lift. Keep at it.
  11. Love it! I haven't seen or built anything with a layered color scheme in a while, so this makes me want to try it. The red, white, & blue detail (flag?) is clever. I don't recognize the trans green ring like things! Whasat?
  12. Niiiice! I love the engines and the super smexy wing design? On building BT3, what is the typical color scheme? BT1 was black, yellow, trans-red / trans yellow. BT2 was black, white, trans-flourescent-yellow. BT3 could be ? (Maybe some grey, methinks.)
  13. Rock on. These turned out well. I hate to ask for part numbers, but I can't locate the clear trans robot head. Any assistance?
  14. Hey, I finally get to post in this thread! I have a decent collection so I haven't bought any new LEGO in maybe a year, but bought some today! Our LEGO store is pretty new and only about a year old. Yet, I hadn't been in yet! Shameful. I'd been dying to get me a Squidman from Space Police 3 so I went in for him ( / her / it?) in 5969 Squidman's Escape but I saw 5970 Freeze Ray Frenzy and 5971 Gold Heist each for 50% off! So, $6 + $5 + $10 for all these is not bad. I can MOC SP3 now!
  15. Might be a dumb question, but are you near a LEGO store? (I see you are from the US, as am I.) They have the "Pick-A-Brick" wall and you can prolly pick clear bricks off that. (They have them at mine.)
  16. HOLY.... Words fail me. Not only my favorite of the contest so far (got my vote!) but probably one of my favorite SW MOCs of all time! Incredible. You broke the fourth wall and did something truly outta the box. I hope this front pages or gets blogged about somewhere (after the contest?)
  17. This is... hard to determine. I (used to) work 8-5 so there was plenty of time for hobbies. I split my time between... hrm... let's say, LEGO, Magic: The Gathering, video gaming, board gaming, and bar time with friends (if you want to include them) ((something you can do without real life friends - EX. I am an AFOL, yet I know no AFOLs)).... the latter, is not really what I'm interested in, but my friends are interested in. Magic friends tended to be the same as the board gaming friends. OK, this is rambling, what I mean to say is it will be different for any person and that person's group of friends. Good luck with this.
  18. Technically, if you wanna be really critical, we people in the Americas, see IGA as big. Thus this is way too small to be associated with IGA. That's nitpicking, really. It would be better suited as a farmer's market though. ANYWAY, I've read your town evolution so far and I like it, so kudos for that. Keep on brickin'.
  19. I'm torn. I prefer the Mos Eisley Cantina 4501 "pink" one, the one I own (with the cantina and big green critter). It has a bit more playablity, the price was right ($30 in '04) and had good figures too. Even if the "cantina" wasn't really anything, it had some unique pieces. $25 for the new one just irks me. It still looks good even if it's not color accurate. Why do I say I'm torn though? Personal reasons - I have pretty much all the OT main figures... except C3PO. Buying him on Bricklink is almost as expensive as this set! I'll pick him up sooner or later, I reckon... ANYWAY, nice review Clone. Good look at the set.
  20. LOVE IT! Nice form. You actually made the Duplo look good here and properly scaled. Headpiece works uncannily. Minifig legs as fingers? Hee hee Sorry, no critiques I guess.
  21. Very nice! Reminds me of the Ben10 green/black souped up ride Kevin has... somebody has made it already I'm sure.
  22. Of course, I want to see another, but you gotta build what makes YOU happy. Peace.
  23. OOOO, thanks for those! I sometimes forget that Flickr / Brickshelf have search functions. Duh Actually, I just finished my first Ninja MOC. Just a 16X16 x ~30ish vignette to start off. Turned out nice. Pics soon!
  24. Joystiq Now, there's a LEGO collectible! (How long till they end up on Ebay or Bricklink I wonder...)
  25. I certainly don't mind! I love suggestions, they help me to be a better MOCer, I think. - Oh for sure, like I said, it's only a WIP (Work in progress) maybe 1/2 done at this point, so there is still lots to do. tiles (probably in fun patterns) ((probably every last red and black tile I have )) is planned to go on the exterior. It won't be studless, I don't have that kind of collection, but it's in the plan. - Extra set of wheels.... hrm! I absolutely did not think of that! I think I'm out of the big ones, maybe a smaller set could go in the back. Cool suggestion! - Yep. I like details (com arrays, attenas, spikes) and they are in the plan above too. Thanks for the thoughts. I'll continue to monitor this as I pick it up again.
