  1. Crab-a-lisous! I like it. I do not follow though - Does this have anything to do with Star Wars? If no, it belongs in Sci-Fi, I guess.
  2. Ok, sorry, once I read up the background of the two mashes.... I say Very nice. Love it. I think you've done justice here. If I do have critiques: - Is there a spot for mini-fig at top? - What is the angled piece on the first pic? I don't understand the function. Steps to the top? Detail piece? Weapons platform? - For some reason... I'm not nuts about the way the chain is. Would it look better around the neck of the Primo beast? Around the mouth like a horse? Dunno. Awesome work. Any more PrimoApoc you are planning?
  3. Wow! Thanks for the reception. Wasn't expecting that. To answer comments - no, I love critics, as they help me improve! Oh, yeah, the trans-yellow windscreen bothers me too, but I think that's all I have in those pieces except trans neon-yellow. I'd rather do trans smoke or clear (maybe with a centered trans-red panel) really; too bad I don't have funds to Bricklink at the moment though. (between jobs) I might be able to do a smoke windscreen outta some other parts I have. If I come up with something, I'll post. Still got tons of black and red, but I'm planning that there will still be grey /dark grey interior details. Yep, mobile base in a leadership role. Communications relay point. Op center. Rolling around in conquered towns for intimidation. Dunno, I'm not good with logistics / realistic role functions. That's okay though! Thanks again.
  4. Okdokey! I'm scouring through instructions for now. Also, I've started a 16x16 Ninja Vig just to get my feet wet, so to speak. Should be done hmmmmm in a few days or so. Stay tuned!
  5. VERY nice! It was was watching the day-by-day evolution. Too sad to have to put it any, hrm? You could try the project again in a year or two, if you'd like to try a different arraignment. You MOC much?
  6. 11 more?!? You can buy the minifig at Bricklink, I reckon.
  7. Heyo! Pretty new user here, not new to MOCing, but new to sharing MOCS on the Internet. So lemme know if I do something wrong. I introduced myself here, and if you are really interested you can check me out: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41979 Are "works in progress" interesting to anyone? I don't know, guess I will find out! Anyway, this beast is about 50% (still large exterior sections to do, and exterior detailing as well as interior detailing) done maybe so here's some previews. The best way to view this is with the higher res photos and tagged items here at my Flickr Page! But if you like MOCPages it's there too. A teaser shot (sized for EB) here: ( <- Is this deeplinked right?) List of proposed features: (You can see these as notes on Flickr) - back access hatch with two levels of storage, plus loading / unloading mechanism - full two levels inside - removal of bridge for access to first floor and engine area - detailed missile loading bays at front - manned guns on side - removalable tactical area on second floor - gull-wing style access doors on both sides - removalable top with turrets - flip up armored viewscreens for access to bridge - crew of ~15 - Large blade and grilles on front - greebles and details / armor plating This is your only chance for suggestions, no more in-progress shots before it's done. Sorry, it's only a WIP; I have a smaller short-term MOC that I'm almost done with and I'll be able to post it soon! Any comments / suggestions welcome! Thanks for looking.
  8. Ooooo, nicey! It does have an insectile appearance to it, almost with pinchers and claws and wings and such. What makes it SP3 though? Does it have an alien outlaw like the SP3 line?
  9. Heyo. I don't have a huge Ninja collection (a few Samurai, some bandits, one grey and one black Ninja) and some Ninja elements (flags, ?) but I do have Castle elements. Do you have any thoughts on Ninja MOCing, other than just try it? My only plan so far is go through Ninja instructions on Peeron, look at the techniques, details, plant life, Oriental light fixtures, etc and learn from that. I've never built any official sets. Any thoughts?
  10. I kinda like the lil ToysRUs. On the guns issue, I think a lightsaber (LEGO Star Wars reference) or a Castle sword (like a foam Nerf sword) or maybe an Atlantis trident would all been better alternatives, but I don't mind. Is that a big ol Teddy Bear in the window I see? Does this mean we will get a big LEGO store as a set?
  11. A curious, but interesting set. You are getting better with your reviews. I could still use better (one is very blurry; did you miss that?) and BIGGER pictures! The last few reviews I've seen have big pics you need to click to enlarge and/or bigger ones off-site. You might also see what other reviewers do: some do a "interesting / rare piece photo," some do "every X steps" photos to show the build, some show "close-ups" of certain detailed areas etc. You might also appeal to the Reviewer's Academy course if you would like to get better at reviewing. Peace.
  12. Lovely, and it makes sense too! Congrats on the 16 MOC dailies. It was a lot of fun to watch and hopefully fun for you too. Keep building.
  13. I don't follow. Maybe it's an inside joke for a certain topic or forum, but I don't get it. I don't even understand why this would be an "Advertisement?" Anyway, it's pretty and nicely done for... an LDD comic, I think it is?
  14. Nice. Anyway to do a... what do you call it... a shoulder strap as seen in the cartoon to the big one? Rubber band, maybe?
  15. Not too shabby for a first MOC outta a limited parts pool. That said, I'm not crazy about the sideways engine piece the way it's used in the back. Maybe it would look better as a smaller turret with some angled places or something. Also, it might be neat to use that bit of green as a detail where you can see it. It could be a detail with some greeblies on the side to break up the side plate span. Keep at it!
  16. What a fun contest to watch! Thanks go to EB staff, TLG for prize support, and to all the entrants for making it interesting! Till next time.
  17. I think this topic is too widespread to have a poll. Inspiration comes from everywhere. I have a MOC (secret, hasn't been published here yet) that is an homage or spoof of a upcoming real set. So, MOCs can come from official set ideas. Also, some people sketch to start a new MOC. I do that sometimes. The same build I'm talking about above... well I wasn't sure what form or shape I wanted overall. I wanted it sexy curvy, so I sketched out some curve lines and how they might overlap or entwine till I liked it. Then I set it aside and grabbed all by white curved bricks and got to it. Also MOCS might come from literature or movies of course. Sometimes I also have a mental goal list for a MOC. My long term sci-fi MOC work in progress started off as mental goal list of: 1. Red / Black 2. Use these big wheels I haven't used yet 3. Tall with two levels of interior space. Then I started the skeleton. Anybody done these?
  18. Peeron has some. I was just looking at Space Police for something, so for example: http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/5972-1 Then click full size in the upper right, then right click, click view image and you get: http://media.peeron.com/pics/inv/setpics/5....1254226002.jpg I don't know how many are this way though...
  19. Nice review for what is essentially a "battle-pack." Good value. Huh. I probably won't see the movie, but for me MOCcing, these will always be claws. Thanks for the info though. Glad to see these are accurate!
  20. HILARIOUS. Ok, so I'm not the only one that finds Lotso.... um... creepy, maybe right word? Maybe the movie will disprove, but we'll see.
  21. Okay, THIS is your best one so far! I've seen them all so far, and some are obvious (Wrestlers in a ring, etc.), but this one is not. Well done PM. Nice idea to challenge one's self with this daily MOCing. Looking forward to the second half.
  22. I love vintage reviews! Never had any Dark Forest sets. Yeah, a short 3 set theme. Hrm. Looks like the theme could have a been awesome, but I guess it didn't make it. Yes, not nuts about the lower half of this set. It is too obvious to say that if they added another BURP or bricks it could be enclosed and then the opening feature would be a hidden way to get in? I'd MOD that for sure. The tree-camo'ed as a catapault it neat. The skeleton in cage motif was overused as it is in the Dark Forest Fortress too. It's average, I'd summary. I might MOC some Dark Forest as I have a lot of Forestmen sets and can stretch the them a bit. Oddly it seems like Forestmen + pirate heads + darker colors = Dark Forest? Dunno. Nice work on the review. You don't have the Fortress do you?
  23. That's a real nice looking set! I'm not a huge Town MOCer but this really appeals to me for some reason. Other details: - Back wall w/ arch - Tree fort w/ telescope - cool grill - Lawn chair - recycling bin / mailbox - overall nice front look. Roof structure, attic? etc. solar panels! I'll reserve judgement on the interior till we get some shots. It looks like it is missing a bathroom! ALso, where does the kid sleep??!!? Floor? Not nuts about the woman's hair, but variety is good? Looks MODable; move the round tree about and you could extend the house a few more LEGO feet! Thanks for the pics.
  24. Wow, thanks for the info. I'm hoping to get this set and you make me want it even more. It looks AFOL-tastic! You could certainly turn this well written write-up into review with a few pics. No reviews for the LL up yet. My purple bricks are woeful; do you know how many are in the set? Peace.
  25. Hey, thanks for the welcome. I have a second shorter-term sci-fi MOC aside from my other WIP, so.... something else to post soon. Peace.
