The items from the shop will arrive unpainted but you can use acrylic colours to paint them. Shapeways offered the possibility to take over ordering, printing and does also free shipping. That's big luck for me because in real life I don't have the time to handle this ... Here's a picture with the old (to short) bajonette painted in grey. Andreas

Take the link in my signature. http://www.shapeways.com/shops/minifigcustomsin3d There you can browse the items. For ordering you need to "sign up" and you need a paypal account. (Beware: The first side normaly shows the newest items, which are in the review process, the sides 2 and more contains all the stuff which can be ordered) Correction: It's also possible to pay via credite card. I have also a presentation where you can see the items: Woody's Minifig Customs Andreas Shapeways service is excellent. Cheap volume costs, 25$ minimal ordering which is acceptable, no shipping costs. (That's no advertisment since I was on the search for more then half a year ....)

Yesterday I was able to make a test piece on a different printer. This printer uses ABS material instead of the White and Flexible (Polyamid 2200) which I have used recently. Here's a picture: - The surface is a little bit smoother - The printer uses supporting material to breakaway (that's the cheapter printer class), therefore small pieces may be damaged. - There seems to be some holes in the surface - This printer seems to have troubles with wall sizes beyond 0,8. The walls where there but sometimes they were'nt filled as expected - Also the rifle was on the end a little bit to small for this printer type and white and flexible seems the best material for this small piece - the hellboy has to be painted to see the face and hair structure All these problems can only be seen on pieces itself not on the photo provided. I will take that into consideration later on .... Andreas

Some further views: - The new Ulan with small wall sizes as proposed for the french shako. - the Cavallary hat

This version is now buyable from shapeways in the condition shown at the picture. I've brought it to a state that the fabricator can take over web shop, ordering, printing and shipping. (The painting and any other post handling is lead to the buyer since there's no time for me to do that - see also the shop remark given on the link in the signature) Andreas

Gallery of printed Items I: Gallery of items II: and here's the last mold which shows also the original idea: a British style shako it shows also some items usable for other scenes: - barret - mediavel cap - shako 19th century - periwig Andreas

The new bajonette has arrived. The size is now OK, but the ring has to be a little bit smaller. Additionally I got: - British shako small (looks nice to my point of view) - Ulan shako small - Barret - Scott Barret - Medieval Hat - Merchant Hat - Cavallry Hat 19th cnetury - periwig Unfortunately I have to make some small design corrections of the shown items. So the marked items in the shop are ok. The other will be adpated by the end of the week. Very sad to say that I mad a terrible mistake with the baker rifle, which is to small and only can be used as cavalry rifle at the moment. Also the Pallasch was not correct designed. Maybe I did that on the day after silvester? Andreas

Concerning painting there's a tutorial in the library. I've searched for some advises concerning the usage of waterslide decals but I haven't found one. But this schould help: http://www.minifigcustomizationnetwork.com/howto/897 and this http://www.fineclonier.com/Decal_Application.pdf http://www.fineclonier.com/Minifig_Customi...Application.pdf http://www.fineclonier.com/101_09_The_Review.pdf Andreas

Today I've opened the beta version of my new shop which provides customs accessories for LEGO Minifigs. The accessories are printed via 3d printer by an external provider which does also shipping and Web handling. My part is to bring in 3d designs usable for Minifigs. Currently a lot of hats of the napoleonic area are already available and some arms are under preparation. If you are interested visit: http://www.shapeways.com/shops/MinifigCustomsIn3d Here's an example of some of the available items: The base principles of the shop are: - Web, payment, printing and shipping is handled by shapeways - (shapeways uses paypal as payment method, no extra costs for shipping!!) - the items are delivered in white (the possibility of coloring is currently discussed and may be a later option) - the material is a fine polyamide (PA 2200) - alternatives are available on request but not tested - the surface of the 3d print is not as smooth as with injection molding, some may consider sanding for further improvements (take a look at the pictures provided with the items) In some cases (if there's enough interest) I also will add items asked for. Use this thread for requests. Currently two items are under preparation which were asked from other LEGO minifig builders. Andreas

The painted version with french infantry ... Andreas

Results of the newest 3d Print trial: From left to right: - New French Shako with smaller wall size - the fatter old French Shako - the Bearskin - the bajonette I think the new French Shako design works. Check if it's according to your inputs ... The bajonette works in princible but has to be enlarged. Andreas

That should come more nearby to your suggestion ... 3d View Andreas

Thanks a lot for this drawing, that's exactly what I was searching for. I will give that a try later on .... Also the brickshelf link is great. I will contact the guy for some questions since the pictures are mainly rendered (I think). Maybe he's interested in 3d printing since he wrote that the other possibilities are to expensive. Andreas

I've tried to use nearly the same elements as the Flintlock. I only added a pan ... Maybe the 3d design tool lines and shades confuse a little bit in the picture. You are right for the periwig since the lines show the necessary faces for the surface of the hair and are afterwards not visible. Here's a shaded version. Yeah the tassle maybe a problem. Maybe I should make only a small hair piece for the tassle.
