Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Starrocks923 replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
4 for 4! This is probably a new record for Ninjago episodes I really like in a row. I admit that I was worried about what will happen with Jay and Nya if all the wishes are somehow reversed, but the scene with the mansion was really, really fun to watch. I really liked the ambiguity of how Jay's first wish works, as it's plausible that Nadahkan made it come true, and it's also plausible that Nadahkan revealed what was already true. I wouldn't trust Nadahkan too much when he claims he only revealed the past... The entire season so far has felt like a wink and a nod to the fanbase. The love triangle existing despite not existing anymore, the fangirls, the purple ninja, even the debate on whether it's "fair" or "fear"!- 4,591 replies

Okay, so iI guess you both have different tastes in robotic women. I didn't mind Alice, but that's because my frustration was probably focused on the annoying beeping sound when a Nexo scan is imminent. I've seen five mini-movies and two TV episodes and it's already driving me nuts. I'm glad I don't have kids yet, because I can see them rewinding the scene over and over to rescan the Nexo Power 5 times... -

It's rather unfortunate that the "Ninja on the run" subplot will doubtless continue on, but it was really, really nice to see Whiplash again!- 4,591 replies

But the scene was reported to be in the film a long time ago. Heck, LEGO parodied it in a LEGO Avengers TV special recently.

Thanks! I scanned them all, but a few of them at the end( Ice Dragon, Under Woe, Cloning, maybe Mightiness) didn't seem to work. I went online and found this: http://www.spyrius.org/nexo/?nexo=00010101101010110010101101010110b413 I now have 54 powers. But upgrading them all to max is such a pain... -

I don't think I need a spoiler tag to say the timeline of the show is screwed as is, and writing something insane and ridiculous is as common in Ninjago as new Ninja uniforms.- 4,591 replies

I made a topic on the LEGO Message Boards warning users to not go to the website, which accumulated 106 views in 4 hours. I told them how I had seen a few episodes of season six, but still saw spoilers in the bios for episodes I hadn't seen yet. Those forums are read by LEGO staff, so that might have contributed to the website removal. That notice stating the products page is crowded is...intriguing. I haven't see it before. Jay, please use spoiler tags? I read the bios, but would rather not look at them.- 4,591 replies

Thanks. It's difficult for me because I can only hold 4 charges currently, and you have to scan a shield FIVE TIMES to reach its maximum potential. Pausing J2G's review videos works pretty well. As for the LEGO Magazine, the version on the LEGO Club website does not work for me. -

I've seen several of the Nexo Knights episodes/webisodes/videos they put online, and I've been trying to scan the powers. Does anyone mind taking screenshots of the specific scenes where Powers appear? It's difficult to scan a Power more than once when you can't pause the TV... -
They made more money because some people probably bought tickets to see Captain Phasma in action. I'd say that they heavily promoted her for commercial and political reasons, though I won't expound on the latter here. I feel like Captain Phasma would be a very popular character if she hadn't been hyped. The shock of hearing a female Stormtrooper would have been quite effective, and no one would have been too upset that she didn't do much.

Arguing with fangirls over whether or not Ronin is now "evil" is...exhausting. Think about it this way: are the Ninjago City Police Officers evil? Of course not! They get paid to catch the Ninjas who are, as far as anyone else knows, criminals! They also used to be friends with the Ninjas, and no one seems to be complaining about them. Here Ronin is shown as a competent antagonist who does his job effectively and sets the stage for the exposition episode where the Ninjas learn more about Nadahkan, and kids are too upset that Ronin went after the Ninjas for cash.- 4,591 replies

Captain Phasma was simply a Stormtrooper Captain with cool armor. Nothing wrong with that, and at the end of the day, she's a very likable character when you don't let the hype raise your expectations. Speaking of which, does anyone think that perhaps she turned the shields off on purpose, so she could someone gain from the destruction of Starkiller Base? TFA has proven that not everyone is as they seem, and thanks to Lor San Tekka, I'm instantly suspicious of any character who has dialogue in the movie.

I really, really, really love Bounty Hunter Ronin. He's competent enough to get the job done, he doesn't get beaten up by the Ninjas, and he succeeds in getting a hefty payday, with a clean slate and the city cheering for him no less! I'm tired of antagonists being purely evil villains-I really like having a guy with flawed morality who makes a living catching people. Heck, I almost got a Hydraxon vibe, though that's likely coincidental. But two Ninjago episodes in a row that I absolutely love isn't very common anymore. As for 57...I've been thinking about who the major returning character will be. My guess is that the answer is likely someone who's shown in Kryptarium Prison in Season 4, which narrows down the list of candidates.- 4,591 replies

Someone else uploaded it first, though his recording wasn't HD. :( I must say, Ronin really stood out here. He isn't even portrayed as a "villain"-I was rooting for him the entire time. Seeing an actual Bounty Hunter in Ninjago really made the episode that much better. I could of sworn that Jay announced to everyone what he saw in the mirror, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. And why does he keep talking about his future with Nya when she's only a few yards away? Trust me, that never works. Regardless, putting Jay and Nya next to each other in the opening credits is a nice touch.- 4,591 replies

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Starrocks923 replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Well...that was unexpected. The writers really handled the love triangle well, ending it while making it awkward with all the magazines and TV shows. Obviously we now know why Cole has "no future" last season, and the fact that Jay knows he's going to end up with Nya but is too scared to admit it is an interesting dynamic. I do feel like Cole turning invisible was written in because too many fans were scared that Cole might actually have no future, but it was still a nice touch. Look...the love triangle was bad to begin with. It divided a fanbase comprised of young children, and it really caused some...how can I say this...chaos? https://community.le...b/td-p/13433053 https://community.le...t/td-p/13449810 https://community.le...h/td-p/12457700 Maybe it brought tweenage girls into the fanbase, but it's detrimental to make seven-year old boys argue with 12-year old girls. I hope that this time, the triangle is gone for good. I've been critical of how the seasons reuse plot points and the way Garmadon has, in one way or another, "died" in EVERY SEASON (In season three, he fell off a cliff, but he appeared less than a minute later to prove that he can't stay smashed...), but I like where the Hagemann brothers have taken the Series. The ending may have been spoiled by the episode 56 footage from Comic Con, but I enjoyed watching the episode nonetheless. EDIT: Love, not lover. This is awkward.- 4,591 replies

White Slavers...why on Earth would anyone equate a company like Disney(Or any legitimate company for that matter!) to that? I mean, I have issues with Disney, but that's seriously taking it pretty far. You are correct. In fact, it's the same Stormtrooper who always fell behind in combat training, and that's why Phasma couldn't fully recommend Finn for Officer Corps. "TR-8R" is rumored to be one of the other two. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/FN-2003 (Side note, "TR-8R" is basically bantha fodder for Buzzfeed to make a ridiculous article with. )

Bring back the Smash series! (Ninjago)
Starrocks923 replied to gamejutzu's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
You didn't mention The Nightfall Incident, Robohunter 2 and MNOG II? The Smash games were OK. I didn't find myself hoping for more of them though, since they made five of them. Meanwhile, it seems the LEGO.com games get more boring every year. I can't even remember the last time they released a really, really great game since The Robot Chronicles, Glatorian Arena and Quest for R2-D2... -
After all that hype about Captain Phasma and the diversity of Stormtroopers...wow. No spoilers, but that really goes to show that sometimes the shiny armor is just shiny armor. Gwen's been cast in the next Star Wars movie by the way, along with a few others.
