  1. That is a nice looking tank truck with a lot of details and a great color scheme. I especially like the mirrors.
  2. That is an impressive crane
  3. Have a look at LDD Manager (see the Index Thread of this forum). I haven't tried it myself because it is Windows only. What I do is export from LDD as ldraw, and them import the result in BrickStore.
  4. That is a promising first floor!
  5. Redish-brown is probably a realistic color. You can download the building instructions from Lego S&H (customer support).
  6. Very nice little cafe. I really like the greenery along the house.
  7. Nice use of the 1 x 1 round plate with hole.
  8. Great scene and building, although the brick work is a bit overdone for my taste. But I really like the design of the door and the slightly curved window.
  9. Great buildings! I have some before, but not all. The Tower Museum looks very good.
  10. I think only building a facade might be worthwhile. For example look at the MOC made by crises_crs, on Flickr I know this isn't a facade of a building, but I think it could work.
  11. I have to agree. The use of the flippers is brilliant!
  12. Well I mostly use the style of the Market Street (10190), because I am mostly interested in the outside facade only. That means that I don't have an interior except for stairs, sometimes a fireplace, and fake windows in the back wall. You can see the effect of not using a back wall in the WIP of my new building: The ground floor already has a back wall, but the first floor not yet.
  13. I just want to congratulate the winners with their great entries. And to all the other participants, thank you for your entries. It was wonderful watching all entries being submitted over the period of the contest.
  14. That is a great facade you made there. To get more colors and bricks in LDD you need to enable Lego Universe Mode. See the index thread in the LDD Forum. Regarding the facade-only building technique, I don't think I've seen it used very often, but that is not really import. It is more important what you are comfortable with. After all it's an expression of your creativity. Every body has his own personal style, but there are some common themes like Lego City style where the back is open, Modular Buildings which can connected together with separable floors, or buildings which can split apart. But there are also builders who only care about the outside (making the inside a mess as long as it works), or who build in different scale. Personally I use a slightly modified version of the Modular Building 'standard'. I am also more interested in the front facade, so most times there none or barely an interior. P.S. You may want to introduce yourself in the Hello! My name is... forum. You also will get a better response if you ask these questions in your own topic and not in an existing topic.
  15. Depends on your definition of car, but the Expert Builder Idea Book from 1980 had instructions for a walking Technic Lego Dog. See Peeron for the pages with the instructions (page 74 - 77).
  16. I have started building it. This my progress sofar: For the moment I a sorting my Lego bricks to see what I need to order.
  17. My first major City building probably was the Chocomel Factory 1620 from 1978:
  18. Dix: 3 points Nieks: 2 points
  19. That is a great entry for the contest. The design of the station is great, and so is the tram. The signal post is a real eye catcher.
  20. I will get that book for christmas. But you definitely wan't to read more books from Terry Pratchett. The books are always full of jokes and cross-references which you will mis otherwise. Currently I am re-reading The Brain That Changes Itself from Norman Doidge, M.D. Not quite popular-science, but very interesting if you're interested in how a brain works.
  21. Great Hot Rod! Best viewed with music!
  22. I bought two Brickbeard's Bounty's for EUR 45 each. The boxes look 'slightly foxed', but not badgered, wolved or beared.
  23. Here is my new modular building created with LDD. It is based on a real building. The only thing that annoys me is the two quarter plate gaps at the top left and right of the first floor. Any suggestions or comments are welcome.
  24. Yes, there were several vendors at Brickworld. Some of them having a very busy weekend.
  25. That is a great building, shutinc
