"Anybody going to need anything while I'm away, I could go fetch something." Alex goes to explore the walls to see if there is any slits to fire his crossbow from. -

"Does anybody want to go cut another tree, and bring it up here if we're all not exhausted or wait until tomorrow?" Alex will sleep lightly in the night to hear if any elf spies trips on a fire bomb trap. -

"How far is the catapult coming?" Alex asks. OOC: Sorry for the short post, but I like to post and stay active, and was wondering when it will be complete. -

"I like the barrel idea for the catapult," voices Alex, "I think we should cut the barrel in half so it's more like a bucket and will spread more. -
^^ Hilarious! How amazing and clever you are K-nut. You made my day 10 times better. Merry Christmas to you too!

I'm exhausted remember? Alex, now exhausted looks into the woods, acting as a sentry while the others work. He tries to see if any elven spies or scouts are watching. -
I like the decals, except the green inconsistency. Also Napoleon wasn't in that time period. He was during the Louisiana Purchase, which was at around the 1800's. Good job though.

Since Alex was exhausted and couldn't really do anything else, he brings water from the well for the others to drink. He wonders how many hours of daylight are left. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share
Capt.JohnPaul replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
As I assume it is late into the day: The young knight is tired from working all day in armor. Though the fellow heroes sense something like a plan in his mind. They were disappointed when they realized they would have to wait for tomorrow. "I'm going to get a drink of water. It's hot out here." Alexandre sleepishly walks to the well. -

I'll hammer in stakes in front of the storage lean-to side, therefor if they put siege towers to the walls and attack the portcullis winch room, they have to go around the other side of the fort. -

Alex continues digging. "How many stakes do we have? Also, the birds say they've seen some activity, at night we could wait and see if they show up to check on what we are doing. We could capture them and get some info out of them." -

I think we could place them outside on a raised platform or something, and surround it with the stakes so the elves can't get to it, and when they get too close, the operators will flee back into the castle. We just need wooden support poles, rope, and planks to tie all it together and create a steady platform. Shall we start to try and build one and test fire it? -

Capt.JohnPaul replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Ouch, massive wooden structures. I'm assuming siege towers. We're going to need more long ranged things. I think we could build plenty of balistas. We make a giant bow, and use the rope we have to make the string, and we could propel some sharp stakes we make and put holes in the tower. Shall I go ask some Lion Knights for assistance while the rest of you dig, sharpen stakes, and try to accomplish this catapult? -

Alex tries to remember how big the fort is. "I'll get to work!" Alex digs by using his large helmet around the portcullis. -

The next morning, I'll sharpen all the logs to make the stakes. "I like the traps idea with the fire bombs and the trip wire. We could time the bomb to the wire and an elf moving siege equipment could trigger it, killing the elf and destroying the equipment." -

OOC: I wasn't sure if any of you wanted to see if there were anything else to explore. Boomingham looks around, there isn't anything else to do, and since the temple is at an oasis, they get full refills for the journey back to town... The party can hear the cheers as they walk into town. The leader is making a speech at 1 o'clock. They listen as he talks from his royal tower. "Followers!" he bellows, " Give thanks, I have come out of my misery. These heroes have delivered us our treasures stolen from us by the invading MOColians." The crowd yells in delight. "In honor of them, each one will be given a special title we will call them. They are: Nyx the Bugslayer Boomingham, King of the Desert Sylph the Wise Amorith the Brave and Barur the Healer. (Yes, I looked through a crystal ball to track your progress.)" The mass of people congratulate the adventurers. "Now for the rewards. Guard, bring the chests!" A guard gives an order and two men carrying golden treasure chests open it. "Each get 100 gold! Also, may I see your weapons?" The heroes uncertainly hand over their main weapons. "Muhammed al-Din the blacksmith made these. They are you weapons but with increased power, Boomers, perhaps this will let you kill more Scarabs. " The party looks in awe at their shining new weapons and compare it to the old, dirty weapons they used in the desert. "I'm sorry for those ridiculous prices of the canteens to sustain life, therefor, I'm interested in that key, you'll have no need for it, so please, can us townsfolk have it, and each will get 15 gold back. My way of an apology." The crowd cheers one last time, and in the next morning, they heroes are aboard a ship, heading back to Heroica Hall. THE QUEST IS SUCCESSFUL! Alexandre starts gathering any branches or logs if there is any around. "Did we see a saw or axe at the storage lean-to or something to cut down some small trees?" Alex asks the party who had received the Standard Issued Halberd, and proposes they could cut off large branches with that. -

The diamond is stuck to the statue, and won't come free. Also, nothing in the room is open able with a key, they will just have to give it to the townsfolk, perhaps if you do that, they'll won't charge you for the remaining canteens.
