  1. A sailor walks into the hall and nails a piece of paper to the wall, it says: Hunt for the Draugr Chosen People: Benji Carvenhall (played by Flare) Party Leader* Monk Pretzel and His 99 Pieces (played by palathadric) Alisha Mortek (played by Poison Ivy) Leo Aragon (played by TheBoyWonder) Daxus Octavian (played by LEGOman273) Meet in the docks, Cleric Wulf of Thaick
  2. Woops, be careful guys... And we have stakes in front of the Storage Lean-to and the North wall correct? And where do we have the oil and water and rock pour things? Alexandre recalls this information.
  3. Ahahahahahhhaaa!!! How hilarious! Alex goes out and digs small holes. He puts one fire bomb in front of the gate way, and another in a hole in front of the East wall. So when the elves fill up the battering rams with dirt, the fire bomb goes with it, and when the ram slams into the wall, the bomb would ignite. Perfect. (NOTE: the bombs are away from the forest.)
  4. Also, I'm wondering for Alexandre. I kind of want to be the Warden class, with a shield and long range weapons from the back row, but character wise, he's more of a paladin. Any ideas?
  5. Umm..... sure! Definitely. Alexandre makes two more containers and fills each up with the oil and each with a bottle of rum. He goes over to the well and puts water back into the glasses. "There, now if you look at the bottle, it will still look like there's rum in it. (assuming it is a colored glass) And we have 3 fire bombs. We should put one in front of the gateway, and another in front of the East wall. Shall we save our next one for the next round, just in case?"
  6. A barrel!!??! That may have been TOO big.... "Chef! Bring some rum!" Molotov anyone? Hopefully this works...
  7. Aha! Rope, now we can make containers to hold the oil and honey for the fire bombs. Alex takes some wood and cuts the planks (spares we had or borrowed one from stakes) to smaller rectangles about the size of a ruler. He cuts multiple and also carves two wooden circles. He puts the small planks on top of the wooden bottom, (one of the circles) It now makes a rough cup shape. Time for the rope. Alex intertwines the rope between the spaces of the wood. "Can I borrow some oil?" After the oil was fetched, he drenches the wooden and rope "cup" into the oil. "There, now it is water/liquid proof." He puts on the other wooden circle as a cap. Now what he holds is a cylinder. Now we mix the ingredients for the fire bomb and pour it in here. And since this is an entire plank, we could make multiple. OOC: Doc, would this work?
  8. I know! Do we have any rope though?
  9. Alex runs down from his tower to join the others. "They're probably going to bring more rams, so we'll have to blow them up. What we do is make more fire bombs, and bury them in the ground, so when the elves fill the ram up with soil, they'll scoop up the fire bomb. And then, when the ram hits the gate or whatever it is targeting, the pressure of the impact will detonate the bomb, and destroy the ram from the inside. And the fie won't harm us, since the fort is stone. We deploy multiple fire bombs all around the fort. Also, we should take wooden planks and nails and just barricade the gateway, just in case the portcullis is damaged, they still have to get through a makeshift wooden wall." So if anyone approves, we should take bold action...
  10. You are partly right. The reason I said that was because William the Conqueror (from what I understand) didn't want to be excommunicated, as Christianity was officially becoming the power of the Western World. He had to go to the papacy and get permission, when that was done, he attacked the Anglo-Saxons and won. Even though it is inspired, you can clearly see comparisons. Heroica is all about helping people, and that is what Chivalry is all about. "Hoisting Down the Jolly Roger is about pirates, and pirates were mainly known during/a bit after the Renaissance, when guns were invented. Anyways, I'll stop talking now, and let this discussion just end, because like Etzel said, this is just begging to start problems.
  11. I know, I read. That could certainly be possible, but if so, I don't think there would be any need to bring it up.
  12. I really hope we don't go further into this discussion. I've seen a hero who's surcoat is white with a cross. And this is fantasy. Its time period is medieval. Christianity was a major factor for most of the events that are important. (Hastings, Crusades, Reconquista) Even though it is fantasy, and real religions don't exist as a major belief, we should all choose what we think is our characters' deity. Also, based on the medieval age, we have gunpowder and handguns, (for rangers) we've had this discussion about whether or not heroes can eat chocolate, all this makes us believe this is a Renaissance Time period, and Cortes sailed to the new world. What does this have to do with religion? The Aztecs and Mayans were from a very different place, and they had gods Europe didn't even understand. So who says certain symbols or words can't be allowed? They were from a different "World" so palathadric's cross is nothing strange, considering the Knight followed chivalry, a code that coexists with the teachings of Christianity. Maybe I'm reading to far into this, but no one should've ever brought it up.
  13. 3 posts at the same time??? Thanks for the quick reply.
  14. I'm unsure if this was mentioned before, but some people signing up are level 13.5. If they get to level 15 while in the quest, do they choose their advanced class or wait until after the quest is over. Thanks, Capt.JohnPaul
  15. No! You can sign up. The "confident" is more a roleplaying thing or your character's personality. In reality, a scared adventurer wouldn't sign up for searching for ghosts in the middle of the night in a forest. If you feel like you can take on some undead with a team, you can sign up. In addition, you are a cleric, which would be even better. I hope that description didn't turn away any others.
  16. Really? That's pretty weird we had the same idea. I came up with it first. Too bad your quest won't be done by then, unless you instantly win the battles and everything. At least you will be reading, and I hope you'll like it.
  17. Actually, it's not in anyway based off or inspired by Skyrim, I don't own it or ever played it or seen someone play it, and I rarely know what Skyrim is about. When I was doing my research to prepare for the quest, 99% of the search results were about Skyrim, and I got really frustrated. This was inspired from a show on the History Channel I saw. Thank you. Thank you.
  18. I'm hosting again! First, I did a Safari in the Sahara and now, a fight in the frozen lands! I hope all those who sign up will have fun!
  19. "Wait, are guys talking about a debacle???"
  20. Where did we deploy those anyways??? One one the West wall and the other on a tower or something right?
  21. What is that anyways??????
  22. I would've liked to put the boiling oil on top of those two tower doors, so no guards would have to be posted on the West Wall- that was kind of the point, so we would have more men to work with. Anyways, the stakes were inspired by Agincourt, the oil inspired by a prank done with a bucket of water, and I have another, to instantly (hopefully ) destroy the elf battering ram, inspired by warfare done today.
  23. I would like more action, but you've been doing a good job lately keeping it going. I love the strategy part, and the planning, as I've been through Sun Tzu's Art of War, like, 5 times. Also, I love reading/studying on medieval battles and how they were won. (Main interests are Hastings and Agincourt.) So I like to apply anything I've learned. Good job Doc.
  24. Alexndre reloads his crossbow and shoots the Elven Warrior from the back row. (Unless I can't hit any of them, since they are on another level.) "Haha," shouts Alexandre, shooting more Brobric Elves, "Too easy!"
  25. I shoot elven Archer A from the back!
