42009 Owners ... Speak Up!
NevynPA replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
No single book for me either. I was hoping for one. -
I'd blame that on City being a larger lineup than all of Technic more than anything else. I picked up a leftover 8068 at Barnes & Noble earlier this year. They didn't have any re-stocked Technic when I was in over the weekend, though. I have no idea if it's currently still carried or has been dropped by them.

42020, 42021 (Mini Helicopter & Snowmobile) are both at my TRU's. $12.99 and $19.99, respectively. 42026 and 42027 (the new pull-backs) are also both available, $19.99 each. No other new sets available. Verified in both the Pennsdale/Muncy/Williamsport store (ZIP code 17701) and the Wilkes-Barre Store (18702).

Your Best Technic Bargains
NevynPA replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
42009's are $199.99 at TRU's near me nowadays...possibly to make room for the coming 42025 Cargo Plane? 9398's are $160.98 - My wife grabbed me the 42009 yesterday while out shopping; I had picked up a 9398 about a week ago. I snagged an 8455 used, complete with directions for $187.53 (free shipping) off ebay. They sold it WITH a mostly complete 8431 that I would have given ~45 for; so it was like getting the 8455 for ~$140! Sorry if I pushed one of you folks out to get it! I forgot to check here first to see if it was being eyed up by anyone. -

Thanks for all your prayers and well-wishes. We're doing about as okay as one could hope for. I haven't been around too much to reply for some reason (go figure), but truly know that every bit is appreciated. Somewhere along the way I'll start getting caught up with the forum. We got a LEGO S@H catalog in the mail the other day. Allison is flipping through it and goes "Daddy these are really cool!" as she brings it over to me. She's looking at the Mobile Crane Mk. II and the 42008 Service Truck. I reply with "Oh yeah? You like those, do you?" "A little. But they're cool for you though!" She's adorable.

If any of you want to read my story of how things are going, It's pretty much all on Facebook. I'll continue to be posting about it as time goes on, but of course there will be less as we keep moving forward. https://facebook.com/NevynPA Feel free to send a friend request, click follow, or neither. Just if you do send a friend request, let me know you're from Eurobricks.

God has certainly blessed us beyond measure in all this, that I can assure you of. He has given us such grace and peace that while it's still hard, and there will be some sorrow/pain for a long time, we are both pretty much through the worst of it and our remaining daughter Allison (who is 5) is coming through okay. She knows and understands where her sisters are. It's gonna be tough; I was starting to buy parts to build Nico71's braiding machine to make friendship bracelets with them all.

I realize I'm still new here and that I haven't said much, but I wanted to post this. On Friday morning, as my wife was coming back from dropping stuff off at a bake sale, there ended up being an auto accident that was pretty bad. Bad enough, in fact, that the Lord decided it'd be better to just let two of our three daughters come home instead of having them go through the pain of healing. Abigail Rose Haskell, born 09-09-2005. Charlotte Amelia Haskell, Born 09-24-2010. Both went home instantly on Friday, February 14. One of the last memories of both of them is from just six days prior. Abby had build me a Cthulhu as she knows how much I enjoy the writings of H.P. Lovecraft: Charlotte, only 3, came to me just after Abby had on that same night 6 days prior. "Daddy, take a picture of me and my boat I made!" They were awesome in ways we never knew, and will be greatly and thoroughly missed.

[HELP] Compact Reverse Rotation
NevynPA replied to skppo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If you don't need a lot of torque, you can 8T to 8T to reverse, and then use bushings and a belt to maintain the reversal of direction. -

8868's B-model had Pneumatic auto-valving, which always amazed me as a kid. -

Nico71's Creations
NevynPA replied to nico71's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm totally interested! Trying to amass the pieces I need, though...that's tough. 300+ chain links! I have no budgeted money for parts purchases... -
Your Best Technic Bargains
NevynPA replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's an asounding deal! If you've only built the new studless sets, be prepared for this build to take a LONG time! The instructions are a lot more complex, too. Sometimes you'll add 15-25 parts per step! -
