  1. I second that, perhaps a correction can be made in the 1st post. Each quarter has 35 teeth, not 34, hence 140 teeth in the complete ring.
  2. But several of the mentioned videos are down already. Like I said, get this guy 3 strikes and he's done. Someone tell Madoca his video was stolen.
  3. You're not rude, we just keep finding stuff we think needs correcting and this can naturally be frustrating to you.
  4. Thanks, 2nd edition comes out this October with 420+ pages. More details coming soon :)
  5. Not to be rude but AWD with front wheels spinning 3x faster than the rear ones... I think I've officially seen it all now. Not to mention a single PF XL simply won't handle a truck of this size and weight. I'm sure it is now. But try to make this actuator lift 1 or 2 kg of load.
  6. Hydraulics? We have hydraulics in Lego now? Also, that long unsupported axle between the PF L motor and the u-joint is asking for trouble. It really needs support at least where it connects to the u-joint. PS. How is that AWD working with portal hubs in the back and regular hubs in the front? Don't you have different gear ratios rear/front? And how is that single PF XL geared down?
  7. Very cool bridge. And always nice to see the good old "what does in need? I know! More road wheels!" Churchill :D
  8. Someone already told him something in the comments and he didn't care.
  9. The Lucioswitch's trucks alone is nearing 1,000. Of course it does. If you could report someone else's content being stolen, I would have dealt with this guy myself and spare all you folks the trouble. I'm afraid this has smaller chance of success than takedown requests. Requests are automated and fast, an email need someone at YT to actually read it and care about it.
  10. Too bad. This way the bad guys basically win and we don't get to see your amazing stuff :(
  11. Guys, Check this YT channel: https://www.youtube....&view=0&sort=dd Whoever runs is does a very poor job in stealing videos from many builders here. He stole stuff from Madoca, Lucioswitch and several others. Good news is, together you can take the videos and his entire channel down. Here's how to proceed if you see your video was stolen - what I describe below is how to get the stolen copy taken down: 1. Go here: https://support.goog.../answer/2807622 2. Check "Copyright infringement" first, then "I am!" next. 3. Fill the rest of the form. Don't worry, it's unlikely that YT will share the data you provide with anyone, most they usually do is to provide the name of the YT channel that demanded video takedown. I know, I'm getting my videos stolen all the time. 4. Check all legal checkboxes, type your name and submit the claim. You should get an email confirming that your takedown claim is being processed and within 24 hours the stolen video is usually taken down. Here's the nice part: for every video YT recognizes as stolen and takes it down, the thief gets a so-called strike. If he gets 3 strikes, his entire channel is taken down. Which may sound cruel, but consider this: - he benefits from all your heavy work by simply copying a video - he gets views that you should be getting - he may trick people into actually believing these are his videos and his creations - there is nothing really valuable on his entire channel, just some stolen stuff and some childish attempts at filming - he will continue stealing more & more I really despise content thieves, they are the worst of the worst, so I wanted to bring this to your attention and to help you solve it. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Rest assured, submitting such a notice will not affect your original video in any way. You're just helping YT to deal with very stupid people.
  12. Done something quite similar long ago with pure PF. It's interesting to see how you will solve this with pneumatics, especially the joystick.
  13. Well, the same type of gearbox, but with ribbed connectors worked fine without disengaging in my 3.25 kg heavy Land Rover Defender. I haven't had the chance to test the smooth connectors in similar model yet.
  14. So you don't know the history either. You weren't the "only" country pal, Poland didn't surrender or join nazis either, you can climb down your pedestal now. Moreover, British high society was in full love with Hitler, to the point where the video exists of young Queen Elisabeth II happily performing a nazi salute. Sorry to teach you history, someone has to. Source: http://www.thedailyb...-the-nazis.html Also, don't miss the fun list of British nazi parties (looks like you had more of these than Germany itself): https://en.wikipedia...fascist_parties No, it's not the matter of torque, the ribbed 3L connectors simply generate backlash in the shifting mechanism so that the two rings don't shift all the way.
  15. The same can be said about any mechanism whatsoever. Why use gear wheels at all, they make things less efficient? FYI I have successfully tested earlier version of this gearbox in my 3.2 kg heavy Land Rover Defender and nothing went wrong. Some people want to use gearboxes and see need for them, even if you don't (try thinking of a gearbox as of European Union).
  16. Um, I'm not sure why I should, seeing as I barely know Attika's solution. These are two mechanisms that do essentially the same job quite differently, I thought it's plain to see. My design is a development of a gearbox I've made last year and it was made possible by the new smooth 3L axle joiners from the 42056 set. The differences I can see at a glance are many, e.g. my solution doesn't use a PF Servo motor nor steering links, and a single rubber band instead of two. I'd also say both are pretty much the same size, with mine being taller but narrower.
  17. Guess I should let my landlord know I'm paying my rent with an illusion. Can we get back on topic please?
  18. I can tell from experience that on average people will offer $50 for a MOC that cost in the area of $1,000 to make. And I mean for the actual MOC, not for the instructions. But then maybe I've just never made something awesome. Also, some people will call you a d*** for not providing the instructions right away. I don't know how well paid instructions sell, but I've seen what people do with them. That is: - resell them at higher price (also happens to free instructions) - pirate them - claim the models they've built with them are their own - submit these models to building contests as their own
  19. I find these smooth 3L axle joiners from the 42056 set quite useful: Here's the stepper mechanism alone, if someone's interested: And here are instructions for both: http://sariel.pl/downloads/
  20. I'd say the video already shows something interesting - the car seems too wide, or so the relative size of wheels to body width suggests. That being said, if the author can't see difference between a movie trailer and a few seconds of something he filmed with his mobile, showing mostly darkness and carpet, then well... here's a movie trailer, for reference:
  21. Definitely an interesting alternative model. Worth checking out, especially since it's the first Lego pneumatic loader since 2004 and the 8439 set.
  22. Hard to say what I liked more, the car or the pug :) Great video, too!
  23. Well, someone had to answer to the fundamental question: "How well does a $280 Lego set separate peanuts from walnuts?".
  24. Thanks! That means you definitely need to put model A on top of something to work with model B. Which wouldn't be a problem, except remember that model A's boom can't be lowered below grade.
