  1. Well, so choosing some hardcore nostalgic city set (e.g. from 90's or older) is without compromises almost impossible, and upscaling it would mean desperate ballancing on the edge of the prohibited space? I was secretely hoping for slightly different main approach to the theme, but I see that it would make voting at least 4 times harder. Ok, model choice change in process, challenge accepted.
  2. Fantasy car contest sounds nice, but it is too open and needs to be refined, IMHO. But as I am not fan of any superhero-related things, bat- and other character- themed - mobiles (even imaginary and non-canonical) might be interesting. I really look forward to this ('studless rebuild' ) contest and variety in approaches and all the non-technic sets rebuilt to their technic counterparts.
  3. Well, this sounds great! Too many ideas, too many possible approaches, too many sets that might bring back memories (or kind of).
  4. Thanks, well, I'll try to finish them before the summer.
  5. I would like to join as GBC is another thing I have never built, but I can not promise I would really fu ish it for the contest. Most likely unfortunatelly not.
  6. Thank you! Well, one day there might be instructions available, but I can not say nor promise when. But I would like to make them.
  7. @Pato Sentado Thank you! Well, it is at least inspired by it. ;)
  8. This contest was and still is so much fun! Thank you all who participated on it - as organiser, or as contestant.
  9. Well, this was hard. and I can not say I am convinced that I choose really the top 6 for me. Every entry has one or more things that I like a lot, that would make it to the top 6. Good luck to all contestants! 27:10 5:6 1:4 7:3 9:2 2:1
  10. @Rudivdk Thank you for kind words! Good luck in the contest to you too!
  11. Altough I am not usually sold on thematic choppers, I must admit that you did great work here! I like that the snake is clearly visible from the side profile of the chopper.
  12. Well, I like the muscular stance of the bike, it's wide frame, bold exhaust pipes, it's wide tires, like it' calling "Just try to mess with me and you'll see". It is ironically kinda accurate, because but the steering would be a problem in real life. To be honest, many entries in this contest have wrong steering geometry that would prove unstable and unrideable (or at least extremly dangerous) when built in real life. You can improve it by rebuilding the front section so the steering axis intersects the ground in front of front wheel's point of contact with the ground. However, as long as contests are mainly for fun and joy of building, it hopefully does not really matter.
  13. I like your deltabox frame, overal stance of the bike and the presence of clutch. Keep up good work, HOG engine is original idea that I might adopt one day too. But to be honest, you definitely have space for at least 2 speed transmission. ;) The swingarm is 8studs wide? ANd could you please show us the side view of the bike? (I would like to check the steering geometry, especially the front trail length ;) )
  14. Thanks! I am glad you like it. Well, I really look forward to see with what you will come. 😉
  15. At first sight it does not look so complex, but after closer visual examination am I amazed how clean and simple-complex solutions you did here. I like the scrambler vibe, the short seat, low posture of the bike, front suspension solution, altough the front end seems to be slightly too long - I know that it is because the FWD mechanism, but still the missing front wheel trail (essential for stability) is slightly disturbing. However, you did a great job on this MOC! :)
  16. The tail lights with exhaust and spine-line on the top is really nice touch and pushes the bike on another level. Good job!
  17. @MajklSpajkl - Thank you, and good luck for you too. ;)
  18. Wow, looks really good. I like the chunky-bulky-curvy lines that you managed to achieve, and the badass posture of the whole bike (the intense amount of red #3 connectors help this feeling a lot, and the stickeron fuel tank too :D). Maybe the neck between the steering axis and fuel tank it too long, but it is just a matter of taste.
  19. Wel, that time has come. Here is final overview of my entry, with more images that were not suitable for the entry post. I once wrote that the bike has realistic geometry of the steering and front fork placement. Well, here is a quick sketch over photo that shows rear swingarm geometry, simplified frame and conditions on front fork with front trail. I think that it has adequate length for the bike's look - little longer for higher stability and decreased maneuverability as the bike tends to be scrambler-like and not top speed chaser. The steering axis is in one plane with axes of the shocks - well, it is not really realistic, but if it was not, the trail would be too long. MOst of following pictures were taken outside. Hope you like them, it was very cold and windy then... :D ___________________________________ Here is final chassis presentation, where you can see the powerpacks and also the frame assembly. Note that the gray tubular frame adds only lateral and torsional stiffness, while longitudal stiffnes and main load bearing is achieved via the beam-built central spine. Thus it is a hybrid frame, never seen on real bike (AFAIK). Shifting: https://www.instagram.com/p/CKMiwu1pRDh/?igshid=dqjgyhtsd3lh And yes, the book is there just for aesthetic purpose, it was not opened during this MOC building process, altough I peeked inside it some time ago - but that is another not LEGO-related story...
  20. HD.one _____________________________ Main photo: ___________Features:_______________ - easily interchangible power pack modules: -------- fake engine with two speed transmission and pedal shifter -------- or mechanically much easier electric powerpack with detailed batterybox and controller, all of them fake. - tubular wannabe trellis space frame that adds lateral stiffness (the longitudal stiffness is achieved by the power pack and central beam-spine that act as real main load bearing frame - and steering with realistic geometry (caster angle, front trail, steering angle) - working suspension (springs only, no dampers) - almost modular design - frame, body parts, powerpacks - loads of attachment point for additional body parts or accessories - detailed front brakes - fake rear brake pedal ______________ chassis view: WIP and entry thread:
  21. Well, this is one well engineered entry. I really like the realistic approach, with all essential things for motorcycle design that were kept in mind. There are only few entries in this contest that follow these or similar set of design rules, and this is one of those that have managed to fill them all. It is clearly visible that you're skilled and motorcycle MOC builder. I like the comparison pictures with other bikes.
  22. Thanks! Well, it is all really tightly packed in there. Good job!
  23. Well, this one looks really good. Love the triangle under the seat and rear lights flushing with the panels above them. Engine details look super cool too. How wide (in studs or maybe in straight view photo ;) ) is the shifter/stepper mechanism assembly?
