  1. Looks great! I love green mocs. Are those rear tires a Lego product? I could be wrong, but they don't appear to be the power puller tires. I need some tires that size for my current project.
  2. I would never sell any mocs. However, if I was asked to build a copy of one, I would gladly order the parts and make a duplicate copy to sell. While at Brickfair this year, a couple people asked me if my Case articulating tractor was for sale. I said no.
  3. Has anybody else noticed that the 8285 tow truck is back? It's on Lego's website, however, it says it is "sold out".
  4. I like it! This truck looks almost like an old Dodge Power Wagon.
  5. 1) An airplane with working ailerons, rudder, elevators, landing gear, and flaps. Something on floats would be even better. 2) A real super car with transmission, suspension, etc. 3) A forest forwarder with pneumatics. 4) A trash truck with grabber arm and dump bed. 5) A Forklift. 6) A road grader. 7) An American style tow truck (based on a Peterbuilt chassis).
  6. This is some good info! The moc I just finished uses two XL motors and an m motor on one IR receiver. So far, it seems to work ok, but maybe that is just because none of the motors are under a whole lot of stress. For my next project, I was planning on running two XL motors on the same channel, with a separate IR receiver and battery box for each motor. Would this be sufficient? I'm not sure I completely understand why I would need 2 IR receivers for one XL motor. Thanks, Daniel
  7. Love it! It's simple yet works well. Very clever. Respect.
  8. That looks great! It looks like there are a lot of moving functions as well. Well done.
  9. In my opinion, 8258 is the best of the sets you listed. Lots of gears and the functions work fairly well. Fun build too. 8265 would come in second. I just picked this up a week ago, and it is a great set. Good amount of gears and more detail than I've seen in just about any other Technic set currently being offered. Of all the sets listed, this seems to be the best value for the money. Only downside is that playability isn't very good unless you motorize it. Turning the crank can be tedious. The 8297 off-roader is ok. Not as good as the above sets, IMHO. However, it does have the large tires and cool suspension pieces. Lots of black and dark bley pieces as well. I will not be buying 8052 or 8053 unless I find them on sale. Anyways, that's just my $.02. -Daniel
  10. Wow...that is awesome! I love aviation themed builds. I like all the small pneumatic cylinders too. Is there any video of the functions?
  11. Looks great! The suspension looks really flexy. I like the exo cage around the cab.
  12. Looks like a great start! What do the two PF switches do?
  13. Wow...that guy has some really nice MOCs! The tow truck and bus are especially nice!
  14. Looks great! I've been tempted to try building one of these as well, but this is just awesome! Looking forward to seeing your final result.
  15. The 8485 Control Center II probably had the most flex cables. It had many different lengths and connectors. 8856 Whirlwind Rescue used flex cables on the tail boom. They didn't do anything other than add a cool factor to the set. 8412 Nighthawk has two flex cables to control the rotor head and swash plate. This is the set I got my flex cables in. 8074 Universal Set also came with a lot of flex cables. Uses range from steering to crane tower supports. [Edit] 8479 Barcode Multi Set uses the flex cables to open and close the dumpster grabber. I want to say there was an airplane set with the flex system, but I can't say for sure. Maybe the 8425 black hawk? Anyways, I'm sure there are others, but those are the sets I can remember. I really wish Lego would re-release the flex system.
  16. I used the flex cables on some airplanes and helicopters that I built years ago. I have also used them on some Technic dogs I tried building but never completed. They are definitely some cool pieces, and I really wish Lego would bring them back in a set.
  17. Looks great! I like what I see so far!
  18. Thanks! I think I've come up with a different solution to my project, but it'll be a while before I start on it. Thanks again!
  19. Does anybody think these could be built in a smaller version? Something around a 3-4L diameter? This would work well for a future project of mine, but only if I can get the size shrunk down. Thanks, Daniel
  20. Well, if any of you guys with multiple sets want to let go of one cheap, let me know.
  21. This is one of three sets that I really kick myself for not getting. This was released during my dark ages while I was in school, and I'm bummed for not picking it up. It's an awesome set. Now if only I could find one cheap at a garage sale or something....
  22. Steve, how many motors total are you trying to use? If I understand correctly, you will be using 2 remotes and 4 motors; an XL motor for drive, an m motor for steering, and two m motors for your gearbox. Are you trying to control 6 functions with your gearbox?
  23. I found it odd that the Excavator is not listed in the new catalog. If it's supposed to be a flagship model, you'd think Lego would put it on the back cover or something. Maybe they aren't pushing sales of it too much? I dunno.
