  1. Matthias decides that everyone's cuts and scrapes can wait, so he refocuses on the attack, firing at Gik unless a hit makes his healing more worthwhile. Battle Order > Purpearl: Spell (Lightning) vs. Destroyer > Lind: Whip vs. Kaz > Siercon: Spear vs. Grunt A > Sorsha: Club vs. Grunt B > Matthias: Heals first character in battle order below 15 health, otherwise Extraordinaire vs. Gik Heh, Lind (player), a single Phoenix Essence isn't going to make up for three non-consumable items... and don't expect Matthias to dole Lind (character) any loot after the stealing he's done already - Matthias likes Lind (character) little enough as it is and as a diminutive being he has a strong sense of justice/fairness.
  2. Thanks PPJB. Matthias sees the look on Sorsha's face and realizes she's too focused - and enraged - to switch targets. The gnome shakes his head, hoping the party's knights will be able to withstand the fight. Battle Order > Purpearl: Spell (Lightning) vs. Destroyer > Lind: Recovers (Stunned) > Sorsha: Club vs. Grunt B > Matthias: Heal Siercon > Siercon: If health 20 or below, Potion vs. Self; then Giant Spear vs. Grunt A Free Hits Kaz vs. Purpearl: 24/2-14=0 damage Gik vs. Lind: 22/2-11=0 damage Grunt C vs. Sorsha: 20/2-6=4 damage That's true; but loot that a character steals doesn't fall into the Party Leader's jurisdiction.
  3. Oh blast. Facing Sorsha, Matthias notices Whisperer seems to have stopped singing and is in quite a daze. "Miss Sorsha, could you smash that nice purple and green lady in the face while 'Grey Foxer' figures himself out?" Battle Order > Purpearl: Spell (Lightning) vs. Destroyer > Lind: Recovers (Stunned) > Sorsha: Club vs. Kaz > Matthias: Heal Siercon > Siercon: If health 20 or below, Potion vs. Self; then Giant Spear vs. Grunt A Free Hits Gik vs. Purpearl: 22/2-14=0 damage Grunt B vs. Lind: 20/2-11=0 damage Grunt C vs. Sorsha: 20/2-6=4 damage
  4. That's mighty fine of you; not necessary, especially if not in keeping with your character's character, but mighty fine.
  5. Haven't we regularly seen Skrall (I think it was) create many times that using Overkill Gloves? Concur. Cannoneer has basically no upside.
  6. Nope, but it's suspicious. Vote: Cilantro-Lime Chicken (mostlytechnic)
  7. Matthias brushes himself off, wincing a bit, and raises his eyebrow at Whisperer before moving to heal Siercon. Battle Order > Purpearl: Spell (Lightning) vs. Destroyer > Lind: Whip vs. Kaz Sorsha: Club vs. Grunt B > Matthias: Heal Siercon Siercon: Giant Spear vs. Grunt A Free Hits Gik v.s Purpearl: 22/2-14=0 damage Grunt C vs. Lind: 20/2-11=0 damage
  8. I want to sign up in this thread. Where's the hoop?
  9. Nope, you just proved your munchkin-ness once again.
  10. Matthias' frustration is plain as the big tripod assembles itself. "We couldn't have just given them Lind and let them go in peace?" he says to Berthadhiell, only half in jest. The joke and the Black Knight's whimpering seem to perk up the Druid's attitude, though, and he turns his attention to battle, deciding to pick on someone his own size. "Master Lind, time to put your money where your mouth is. Lady Purpearl, can you electrocute that tripod? Master Siercon, Miss Sorsha, the grunts please." Battle Order > Purpearl: Spell (Lightning) vs. Destroyer > Lind: Whip vs. Kaz Siercon: Giant Spear vs. Grunt A Sorsha: Club vs. Grunt B > Matthias: Extraordinaire vs. Gik (Free Hit: Grunt C vs. Purpearl, no damage) Definitely not time for a cataclysm bomb yet. We got this.
  11. Matthias wonders briefly whether Whisperer could really take a hit from the 'handcannon' pointed towards the Black Knight, and does his best to signal the man to keep his mouth shut and let the diplomatic knight do the talking.
  12. You are so wrong.
  13. Wow. So 240 power (30 base, x2 vs Humanoids, x2 Darkness, x2 Dual Strike) against Humanoid enemies.
  14. Matthias moves to heal Whisperer, but the Black Knight downs a potion instead, and as the Phoenix Essence changes hands the gnome wonders whether the tall Munchkin even realizes there's a healer in the party. He ignores the strange purple-and-green being's further demands, but waits for her response to Berthadhiell's diplomatic words, having seen such techniques bear fruit in the past. Matthias winces a little as Whisperer continues to provoke the fight, but can't help agree; he continues to ready his cannon.
  15. "Um, no?" Matthias says in a way that clearly isn't actually a question. The druid points his own weapon at the strange intruder and silently wills the party to be as menacing as possible.
  16. :shudder: I have bad memories of that Red Death... Matthias has nightmares!
  17. Matthias wonders momentarily if he's the only one with no idea what to think. Regarding the pile of loot out of the corner of his eye, he calls out while readying his cannon. "Unless anyone has any objections, I'll hold onto this lot until we have a moment free to sort it out? Miss Sorsha, any thoughts on what we do now? Wait and see what happens next? Attack?" Without waiting long enough for anyone to answer, the gnome calls out to the saucers, "All we want is for you to go away and never come back!"
  18. Actually, some men are, they just don't call them that. I expect this to pop up soon in the Expert Class Discussion.... Island Ranger These men aren't called Island Rangers, but they are. • Additional Health: +7 • Weapons: Island Rangers wield bottles of rum, tequila, and 'spirits of uncertain vintage,' which they light on fire and hurl at their enemies. • Job Traits: Animal Talk (See Ranger), Flee (See Rogue), Drunk (See Jack Sparrow) 1. WHY IS THE RUM GONE: - The Island Ranger deals damage equal to three times their weapon power added to their level, also inflicting the *Burning -X* effect to each enemy, where X is equal to their weapon power. The weapon is consumed in the action. 2. CRITICAL HIT: The Island Ranger deals damage equal to two times their weapon power added to their level. 3. HIT: The Island Ranger deals damage equal to their weapon power added to their level. 4. AIM: The Island Ranger deals damage equal to their weapon power only. 5. MARGARITAVILLE: The Island Ranger realizes it's his own damn fault and is struck by the opponent’s attack, but if the Island Ranger survives, he may immediately consume 1 liquid consumable. 6. SPECIAL DAMAGE: The Island Ranger is struck by the opponent’s special skill.
  19. If Matthias got *Encouraged* right before his turn, his damage should be doubled.... > Matthias: Extraordinaire vs. Grunt B- Hit (9+18=27x2=54x2=108 - Grunt B and Grunt A (both KO!) 108-4=104 Turret (4 health remaining)) The turret will get bumped back to 44 health by the Engineers; Matthias should also get 20 gold for killing two Humanoids (Hunter's Plate). If I've missed something (entirely possible), I'll have to re-do the battle order below. Matthias gives a throaty chuckle as Sorsha yells; the earnest Black Knight proving showing his true colors a second time in the short battle is simply too comical for the gnome to ignore. Raising his cannon again, the Druid calls his companions to, "Charge!" Speaking a little calmer as he lines up his shot, the gnome adds - in an ever-so-slightly patronizing tone - "Might want to actually fight this time, 'Grey Foxer'. Think you can handle the tiny vermin?" Battle Order > Purpearl: Lightning Spell vs. Turret Lind: Chaotic Whip vs. Parasite Siercon: Giant Spear (Darkness) vs. Engineer A Sorsha: Ancestral Club vs. Engineer B > Matthias: Extraordinaire vs. first enemy still standing
  20. Matthias seizes his chance to get back into the action and fires. Battle Order > Purpearl: Lightning Spell vs. Turret Lind: Chaotic Whip vs. Grunt A Siercon: Giant Spear (Darkness) vs. Engineer A Sorsha: Ancestral Club vs. Engineer B > Matthias: Extraordinaire vs. Grunt B
  21. Seeing Siercon's smokey form slashed, Matthias lowers his weapon and earthen roots burst quickly forth, healing the battle mage and reinvigorating Sorsha. Watching the young berserker take another hit, the gnome resigns himself to fighting by proxy. Internally he calls forth the healing spirits of the deep earth; externally he agrees with Berthadhiell. "Master Siercon, Miss Sorsha, focus on the two bug-eyed ones by the turret!" Battle Order > Purpearl: Lightning Spell vs. Turret Lind: Chaotic Whip vs. Grunt A Siercon: Giant Spear (Darkness) vs. Engineer A Sorsha: Ancestral Club vs. Engineer B > Matthias: Nurture vs. Sorsha It was an Aim, not a Hit... I'm an idiot hahaha.
  22. Watching Sorsha fall and freeze, Matthias can see she is not badly hurt; the gnome heaves his big gun back into line and prepares to fire, subconsciously assessing that he can do more damage with the cannon than by getting the girl back into the fight immediately. Sorry all, got called away overnight for work suddenly. Posting from mobile, so I can't quote properly, but... I believe all of Matthias' damage should be doubled since his cannon is Darkness and Lightning elemental and the enemies are either humanoid or mechanical. Also, Lind was using his Chaotic Whip and I'm assuming by Crit. you meant Critical Mortal Hit, so I think his damage should be 5x2=10+16+0=26x2=52 damage. Battle Order > Purpearl: Lightning Spell vs. Turret > Lind: Chaotic Whip vs. Grunt A > Siercon: Giant Spear (Darkness) vs. Grunt C > Matthias: Extraordinaire vs. Engineer A Sorsha: (If Matthias rolls Shield: Roots of Life) Ancestral Club vs. Grunt B
  23. Matthias watches with muted satisfaction as his veins of living ore put Siercon back on his feet, then nods at Whisperer as the latter uncoils his whip. "Again!" he yells to the party. Is there some reason that Lind doesn't have the shield equipped? Battle Order > Purpearl: Lightning Spell (Zelphie's Staff) vs. Turret Lind: Whip vs. Grunt A Sorsha: Club vs. Grunt B > Siercon: Giant Spear (Darkness) vs. Grunt C > Matthias: Extraordinaire vs. Engineer A
  24. Cool post, but what's the Evoker bonus in there for?
  25. "Who died and anointed you the party leader?" Matthias asks, annoyed, and says to the sheep, "Just stay back, everything will be fine." "Lady Purpearl, you're up first, keep that turret occupied; the rest of us will take out the grunts. Miss Sorsha, the second one please." Taking aim at Other Engineer A, Matthias fires off a burst from his cannon. Battle Order > Purpearl: Lightning Spell vs. Turret > Lind: Ethereal Deck vs. Grunt A Sorsha: Ancestral Club vs. Grunt B > Siercon: Giant Spear (Lightning) vs. Grunt C > Matthias: Extraordinaire vs. Engineer A I'm guessing that the second Other Engineer A is meant to be Other Engineer B?
