  1. Thanks so much for your comments, that second torso is almost perfect! I will have to seriously look into getting one, unfortunately both projects have stalled a little recently due to other matters taking preecident but I hope to post more very soon!
  2. For me it isn't a question of the physical number of pieces (like most here, I am rapidly running out of storage space) but every year there are new parts, new colours, new minifigures and new printed elements that I 'need' to add to my collection, so there will always be a desire to acquire more.
  3. I would like to see a 1x1 profile brick where the profiling goes around the corner of it placing them end on creates a tiny gap, the DO does this and it spoils the look a little in my opinion
  4. I am an MOCer to the core nothing is sacred in my collection, I can't look at a set for too long before my fingers start to itch... The only exception is my palace cinema which sits fully built on my shelf, it was a gift and has sentimental value as it is - as for having sets still in sealed boxes, I struggle not to open them on the way home!
  5. The 2x1 with groove is now available in pink, I think with white it could look good, some old buildings where I live are that colour, might be interesting to see
  6. Thanks! I'm really happy with Zorin, though I wish it was a little more blonde!
  7. Here are a few more villains to enjoy, and the existing ones have been given new pictures! Emilio Largo (Thunderball) "You wish to put the evil eye on me? We have a way to deal with that where I come from." Known as 'Number Two' and second in command of SPECTRE, Largo is based in the Bahamas where he oversees SPECTRE's plan to hijack a NATO bomber and hold the world to ransom with its two atomic bombs. Max Zorin (A View to a Kill) "Intuitive improvisation is the secret of genius." The product of Nazi genetic engineering, Zorin is a former KGB agent turned electronics tycoon who plans to use the unstable San Andreas fault to create a giant earthquake to destroy Silicon Valley in San Francisco, leaving him the sole producer of microchips. Victor 'Renard' Zokas (The World is Not Enough) "You can't kill me, I'm already dead" One of the world's most wanted terrorists, Renard was previously targeted by MI6 and shot in the head. The bullet did not kill him but has made him impervious to pain. He kidnapped Elektra King years before the events of the film and the two devised a plan to destroy Istanbul. Raoul Silva (Skyfall) "She sent you after me, knowing you're not ready, knowing you would likely die. Mommy was very bad." Formerly Tiago Rodriguez, Silva was an MI6 agent in Hong Kong, but after nearly starting a cyber war with China, he was given up and tortured by the Chinese, even his suicide pill failed to kill him. Now Silva has come back with a personal vendetta against M, the head of MI6. This is my first attempt at Silva, wearing the police officer disguise he has in the middle part of the movie. Not sure how happy I am with it, I think the face captures the crazy look he has but I would like to find a better outfit for him.
  8. Thanks, Silva is on my list to do, but I'm still unsure which of his costumes to go for, I think Nick Furys trench coat from the UCS helicarrier is perfect for the scenes at Skyfall, but I really don't have the money to buy it! Thank you, there are at least another two on the way very soon!
  9. Thanks! I was really pleased when I found that torso for him, it's just perfect!
  10. Hi After the overwhelmingly positive response to my James Bond project, which is still a WIP, I have decided to make a sister project of Bond's famous adversaries. Like the Bonds, these will all be purist and I am open to any suggestions, feedback or constructive criticism, enjoy! Please note, some of the descriptions may contain spoilers for the associated movies. Dr Julius No (Dr No) "Unfortunately, I misjudged you, you are just a stupid police man" The first Bond villain, Dr No plans to demonstrate the power of SPECTRE by sabotaging US Space launches from his secret base in Jamaica. Having lost his hands through radioactive exposure, he has metal claws strong enough to crush a gold statue. Donald 'Red' Grant (From Russia with Love) "I get a kick out of watching you, the great James Bond, find out what a bloody fool he's been making of himself." Grant is SPECTRE's most formidable assassin, sent to kill Bond aboard the Orient Express and steal back the top secret Lektor machine he took from the Russians. The figure is carrying the exploding briefcase that causes his downfall after he blows his cover as a fellow British agent by ordering red wine with fish. Auric Goldfinger (Goldfinger) "This is gold, Mr Bond. All my life I've been in love with its colour... its brilliance, its divine heaviness." A millionaire obsessed with Gold, Goldfinger embarks on the crime of the century, to break into Fort Knox, but doesn't plan to take a single bar of gold... Elektra King (The World is not Enough) "You wouldn't kill me. You'd miss me." After her oil tycoon father is assassinated, Elektra inherits the King pipeline, bringing crude oil from Azerbaijan to Europe. She and Bond become extremely close, before she reveals her villainous intent to monopolise oil production with a nuclear meltdown in Istanbul. Gustav Graves (Die Another Day) "You're a rare challenge, Mr Bond. " A wealthy diamond miner, Graves has developed the Icarus satellite, supposedly capable of increasing daylight in parts of the world which normally spend months in darkness, however he is in fact the disguised Colonel Moon, a North Korean war criminal who Bond supposedly killed. Graves and Bond meet during a fencing match, so I have re-created that look here. Le Chiffre (Casino Royale) "I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire." A maths genius and expert poker player, Le Chiffre is also a terrorist banker who uses his skills with statistics to play the stock market, but when Bond prevents a terrorist attack on Miami Airport, his plan to profit from a drop in airline stock fails and he must turn to the casino tables to recoup his loses, hence he is seen here with a gambling chip. That's all I have for now, I hope to post some more (and better pictures!) soon!
  11. It has been a while since I posted my Live and Let Die figure, I am currently trying to get some rarer parts to help finish some more Bonds (like the Tarrot cards) I am currently working on a new project which I am posting very soon, life and work commitments permitting!
  12. Apologies for the lack of updates, but I am working on another minifigure project which I hope to start posting soon. In the meantime, here is another completed Bond. Live and Let Die In Roger Moore's first film, he is up against the evil Dr Kanaga and his henchman Baron Samedi across New York, New Orleans and the Caribean. I think this suit captures well the outfit Moore wears during a large portion of the film, particularly the sense at Kanaga's crocodile farm and during the boat chase. As the film features voodoo and black magic, Bond is holding the tarot cards which feature in the plot. Enjoy! As always, comments, feedback and suggestions for improvements or future Bonds most welcome! James Bond will Return
  13. Ok here goes; I don't believe TLG are 'greedy' they are entitled to charge what they want for their product and people continue to buy it. I don't care for either Cafe Corner or Market Street and I believe the modular line started with Green Grocer. I also don't have a problem with them becoming more child centric, Lego is primarily for children after all. I don't like giant UCS sets, I think they introduce a level of elitism into Lego collecting I hate stickers of any kind I think there are too many licenced themes On that note, I think that new licences should not be accepted on Ideas (a set based on X TV show / movie / game / comic is not an Idea in and of itself) I think that ideas getting perhaps 5 or even 1 thousand votes should be considerd for production (most struggle to get a few hundred) with projects gaining 10,000 being admitted to a fast track system. I don't like the moulded Simpson heads but I don't think that's an unpopular opinion I like baseplates and I'd like to see a return to the more elaborate plates of the past with paths and rivers on them The early to mid 1990s was not a 'golden age' of Lego, the sets were as expensive (relative to other toys) as child centric and as dominated by endless redesigns and police sets as they are now. I didn't find sienfeld funny thought the Godfather was boring and think Game of Thrones is overrated (sorry once you start this it's hard to stop!)
  14. Thanks! I hope to have something else to post very soon!
  15. That's a great idea for Die Another Day, I missed out on a lot of early CMFs so I'll have to hit eBay for one, I need to pick up some other old CMFs for other Bonds anyway. In terms for weaponry I am sticking to purist items, mostly through stubbornness! But the Indiana Jones one is similar to the Uzis which appear in Goldeneye! I did seriously consider using flesh figures for these but I found more yellow heads which suited, though I do think that Moonraker would look better as fleshie! Thanks for all your advice, you've given me a lot to think about!
  16. Some more Bonds to enjoy! Skyfall (Updated) I have changed the Skyfall figure with a different torso which incorporates the scarf and I think looks closer to the movie Thunderball This time around, Bond is in the Bahamas looking for two stolen atomic bombs. A large amount of the story takes place underwater so Bond is dressed in the wetsuit and scuba gear he wears (minus flippers) He has an underwater camera which, at the time was the cutting edge of technology, and one of the harpoon guns which feature prominently in the movie. Die Another Day Pierce Brosnan's final film opens with Bond being captured in North Korea and tortured. He is released fourteen months later, with long hair, beard and tattered clothes. Bond's beard is grey as I had trouble finding a head with a black beard that suited, it should also be longer and bushier but this is the best I had available. That's all for now, all comments and critique welcome! James Bond will Return
  17. What about this? It's J. Jonah Jamieson's head from the 76005 Daily Bugle set
  18. Three more Bonds to enjoy! Thanks to everyone for your feedback so far! Goldeneye In Peirce Brosnan's first film, he is up against Alec Trevelyan, formally agent oo6, who has stolen access to a Soviet Satellite weapon codenamed Goldeneye. Bond confronts Trevelyan in the jungles of Cuba on his vast satellite dish. Bond is dressed in his camouflage fatigues and carries a length of chain, one of the weapons he uses in the brutal fight with his former friend. The World is Not Enough On the trail of Renard, a vicious terrorist who assassinated a wealthy oil tycoon, Bond finds himself in Kazakhstan and a facility which decommissions old nuclear weapons. Bond catches up with Renard, intending to execute him. Bond is wearing what I think is a good approximation of the uniforms worn the film and carries a silenced pistol, which I am now considering giving the Dr. No figure, though I like the idea of each Bond having something different. Skyfall The most recent film sees Bond returning to his childhood home, Skyfall Manor in the Scottish Highlands where he takes his boss, M to protect her from Raoul Silva, a former agent intent on killing her. He is dressed in the leather coat and scarf he wears in the final battle with Silva's men and is armed with one of the handful of weapons at his disposal, his father's antique shotgun. That's all I have so far, I am currently digging around my old Lego boxes for parts I know I have but can't quite seem to put my hands on which will allow me to finish some more Bonds! In the meantime any feedback is welcome! James Bond will return
  19. Thinking about what is normally next to stations, what about a coffee shop, newsagent or small supermarket? The new supermarket suitcase has has some great printed grocery pieces.
  20. I would say get the Pet Shop now , if you can, since its slated for retirement soon. You'd then have another 3-4 years at least to decide if you want the Detectives Office
  21. Thanks everyone for your kind comments, I hope to post some more Bonds very soon!
  22. You should also decide if your town is by the sea, that opens up a whole other list of beach houses, docks, coastguard station and seaside shops and restaurants
  23. Thanks, funny how the old spacesuit seems to fit for what they wore in the movie, the eyebrow is very Roger Moore! I did consider it, but I thought it might be too distracting, so I photographed them against a white background.
  24. Hey that's a nice idea for Skyfall! I'm going to do the very end during the battle with Silva when he wears a brown leather type coat, I'm hoping to post a picture of it soon!
  25. I love them, it's a neat throwback to the past, which is when the majority of the modulars appear to be set. It could also be that having more elaborate minifigs would distract from the building which is supposed to the the star.
