    So some people have wondered if the Products Page Mask is gonna be the Mask of Creation. One side says that it must be, since the MoC is the only Legendary Mask we haven't gotten yet. Others argue that it probably won't, since a. the inevitable direction of a reboot would make BIONICLE 1.0 designs irrelevant, and b. the power over Creation seems to be much too powerful to use in BIONICLE 2.0's first wave. Personally, whether or not the mask is gonna be the MoC or not, I believe that using it as the first-wave MacGuffin is totally possible. Creation is incredibly powerful. The ability to bring things into and out of existence is too much power for the Toa to handle on their first new mission, right? But what if that's the point? LEGO is all about putting things together and taking them apart again, and that forms the core of many of their stories: The LEGO Movie says it's in everyone's nature; Mixels use Cubits to combine and create; Hero Factory is about building our heroes. Hero Factory was the first constraction theme to actively use the Building aspect, and that brought the action figures closer to the LEGO spirit. What I'm saying is that what if BIO 2.0 connects itself more strongly to the LEGO brand itself? What if its story won't just be about heroism and adventure, but also creativity and imagination? The Mask of Creation, then, would be the perfect MacGuffin to use in the first year! TL;DR: If that thing is the Mask of Creation it would make sense.

    I've been thinking it over for some time now, and I think I've gotten the minifig list down for AoU. Do take note that this list is purely speculation, and does not serve as rumor. You see, for every year that the Marvel theme has been around, we've always gotten around 15 different minifig designs in the mass-release sets, give or take a bigfig. In 2012, we saw 3 minifigs for the X-Men, three for USM, and 9 for The Avengers, excluding Hulk the big fig. That's fifteen already. 2013 gave us 7 minifig designs for USM, and 8 for Iron Man 3. This year is an oddity for having given us two waves of Marvel sets, and each of them, not counting any big figs or brick-built figures, gave us 13 different minifig designs, counting Spider-Man (the Juniors line gives us an additional number due to the Venom fig, but I don't know if I should count that). The numbers still skew closely to 15 however, and perhaps two waves of 13 is the new number to look out for. Keeping that in mind, we can assume that the Age of Ultron wave of 2015 -- which we are hoping is the first of two waves -- will contain 13-15 individual minifigure designs. With the characters confirmed to be in the cast, I've devised this list: AGE OF ULTRON MINIFIGS Iron Man Captain America Thor Black Widow Hawkeye Scarlet Witch Quicksilver The Vision Ultron Ultron protoype/drone *Along with them, it's assured that we will get a new variation of the Hulk big fig. What colors he'll be in is yet to be seen. That gives us a total of 10 minifigures for the Age of Ultron subtheme, and if we are to assume that we are getting an additional wave later in the year, then we have three more minifig designs to go. Three non-AoU minifigs is enough to put into a $20 set, similar to the X-Men set that was released alongside 2012's The Avengers wave. I don't have a clue what media that set will pull from, though. If we are only getting one wave (which I believe to be unlikely, given that Marvel has another movie out next year), then we have two more minifig spots, which might allow for a War Machine and Baron Strucker minifigs.

    Because it's a goofy character variant that not only are we unlikely to get in a regular set, but is also not as necessary a variant as, say, Begins Batman, or an environment-specific Batsuit, which would need no explanation compared to the alien Batman who may or may not also be Bruce Wayne's alternate alternate identity. And that's exactly why he is such a perfect exclusive. You don't need him in your collection, but he's also nice to have if you got him.

    A third wave! This is exciting news! There's definitely so much more they can pull from the movie that they haven't already, although I'm curious to know if this wave was made in response to the overwhelming reception towards the movie (and sets), or if it was planned near the same time that the first year of sets were designed. Perhaps we could get an Infinitieth Floor set that is an near-exact replica of the version seen in the BIG SPOILERY MOMENT. It could come with Emmet and the mini-pantsed Lord Business, a mini-Kragle, and a robot or two. I could see it in the $20 spot that Cloud Cuckoo Palace occupied, or the $30 price point that the 2-in-1 sets had. And regarding the Youtuber obtaining a Cheer/Cutesy Kitty.. How okay is it that the LEGO booth just gave one to her? That feels pretty unfair, and unless they produced an additional batch for visiting celebrities/e-celebrities -- which is just as unfair unless they're for the portraying actors -- I don't feel too comfortable in knowing that she was just handed the Sunday fig.

    SDCC Bard is a variant based on an appearance that is sure to be prominent in the movie, media he is to appear in. Zur Bats, however, has no immediate media appearances, and as such is not as important a minifig. The Collector appears in the movie, but to what extent we don't know, and definitely not as crucial to have as the figs we got in the Marvel sets. I find it rather odd if any of the other exclusive figs besides Bard gets an eventual mass release, especially considering that he is the only one that media did not label an exclusive.

    Hmm.. How often does TT put flickfires in their game-only vehicles? This could be an indication that we're getting the '66 Batmobile next year.. Or not, because I don't think there'd be budget spared to give '66 Robin flesh printing on the sides of his legs (sleeved arms are a possibility though).

    Thanks! It took me a while to figure out myself, but once the IM3 wave came in I put two and two together. I'm also of the mind that we're bound to get Cheetah this wave. The Dawn of Justice push really allowed the DC design team to stretch their legs for this one, and it's nice to see that right away, they put out a set where Batman is the one who doesn't have to be there. With New 52 Wonder Woman happily participating in the Batman Day poster, and the fact that the GL set comes with a GL bad guy, and with Brainiac as the bag bad and signs of Cheetah being a prominent character in-game, we can assume that we will be getting at least two more sets directly based on Beyond Gotham: a. A set featuring New 52 Superman versus Brainiac in his skull ship. Batman may or may not be present, since WB has established that Supes can carry merchandise all by himself, and b. A set featuring New 52 Wonder Woman facing off against Cheetah. This one may not even be set against the Beyond Gotham backdrop, and could simply be them fighting in the jungle, but we'd get a Batman here for sure. Did anyone notice any other possible versus sets we could get with the rest of the confirmed League? There's still Cyborg, and J'onn having a new costume could be good news.

    It looks like LEGO can't print on that area where the toes come out of the foot. Iron Man for example has prints on the higher "hip" area, and toe printing, but you can see they leave the middle area blank. Even on the recent Sandcrawler C-3P0, the silver printing on his right leg ends at the "knee", even though his entire lower leg should be silver. Because of this limitation in their prints, it means the only way to get good boots on any minifig ith regular legs is to have the legs be in the color of the boots, then print the rest of the legs onto them. Wonder Woman takes this trick to its extreme, with even the sides of her legs printed with her skin, but it's clear the the color of the plastic is red, after her boots. The new set looks great, by the way. After so many Batvehicles it's so refreshing to see someone else get a themed vehicle, and a jet construct for Hal just fits so well! I do wonder though if, rather than power rings, there will be lanterns scattered throughout all of next year's sets, to act as collectible items.

    It could also be the best oppurtunity to release a Stan Lee minifig! With no space to include him in regular sets, and the dreadful thought of him going to San Diego, an exclusive-enough book release would be perfect.

    Well, getting more Nixels is always fun, but I don't like how they have two of the same Nixel rather than one of two different designs, especially since it looks like we're only ever gonna get the three variations that have been there since Series 1. I hope they have spare pieces.

    Ha, badly-translated BIONICLE J-Pop! That's definitely something we need more of. Hey, so Hero Factory got half-hour specials, books, comics, and an immersive media presence when it debuted: a very detailed website (the view of the factory changed in real time!), a 12-episode-long podcast, fictional newspapers, and even a functioning emergency hotline. Ninjago also had books and comics, introduced a toy-based game with collectible cards, managed to get theme-based content onto TLG's giant of an MMO LEGO Universe, and took those half-hour TV specials and gave us LEGO's first second TV series, with three complete seasons and an ongoing fourth. Then Legends of Chima rolled onto the scene, with its own books, a new toy-based game with more collectible cards, another TV series that manages to run alongside Ninjago, an MMO all to itself, and a worldwide LEGOLAND expansion. What will TLG put out in terms of multimedia presence when (or if) BIONICLE -- the first multimedia IP LEGO had ever put together -- makes its return?

    That sketch of yours was on my mind when I took notice of the Tahu image. It's a real nice idea, but I don't think we'd see any articulated hand piece looking quite like that. Judging by the designs of both of the Beast feet pieces, and even the Brain Attack head, it appears that the only way a palm with bars would work is if the divisions between the bars were thicker. That's just judging by the pieces that also have thick ball cups, though. Despite there being plenty of pieces with horizontal bar connections both in and out of CCBS, none of them really have as much pressure put on them as the ones with thick ball cups. Of course, it's possible that such a design would still be sound despite that, and a similar palm piece would have to be employed in order to give Tahu the kind of hand he has in the image. The combi models were always impressive to me. Whenever I saw those images, and the broken-up instructions at the ends of the booklets I'm amazed at how the BIONICLE pieces -- most of which I hadn't considered using creatively -- that made up the canister sets could become these creatures that still looked really good. My favorites will always be the Kranua, formed by Nuurakh, Vorzakh and Rorzakh whose appearance was imposing; and every single small box combo. I was utterly horrified when I saw what they had made out of the 2010 Heroes..

    Doi, I thought for a moment there that those Chima chibis were actual sets. Had to take a close look at the 'Lego' logo there. Does anyone else think we might get a new regular hand piece next year? Tahu's finger's look too thick to be a representation of the CCBS hand, and looks more proportionate than any of the hands we've gotten, really. I don't recall seeing any Hero Factory promotional material with open hands though, excluding the TV episodes and a few select images on the website, and definitely not on endcaps like this. Could this mean that not only are we getting a new hand, but also have it be proportional and articulated? Alternately, it could be our first indication that yes, BIONICLE 2015 is getting a CGI movie or series, because the only time I do recall there being open hands in constraction imagery was in 2009, when the hand piece was first introduced.

    Yes. Yes so much. If there was only one thing that they could keep from the original BIONICLE, it would be this. It speaks of great wisdom, it speaks of there being more than just the now. More layers of story than just the immediate conflict that most action themes boast. Forget Tahu, forget the rest of the other characters, maybe even forget the masks. Hearing, or heck, even just seeing this simple phrase in the impending promotional material is a sure sign that the BIONICLE we're getting is at least just as good as the first one.

    I know I'm popping my BIONICLE Heroes into my Wii this week (not the best version, I've heard, but it's the only one I got). And also maybe reread all of my Scholastic books. Maybe watch every single promotional video. Speaking of promotional videos, I re-watched the and it just reinforced my firm belief that 2008 would have been the perfect year to end BIONICLE. Bara Magna was cool and all, and the Glatorian were nice and getting Mata Nui as a set was incredible, but actually ending with what was advertised to no end as "The Final Battle" would have been the right way to go. Especially considering the incredible surprise of what we can definitely say is the end of the story of the Matoran Universe.Maybe we would have gotten HF a little early, and then maybe we would have eased into CCBS a little easier, and then the return of BIONICLE would have been just a bit more glorious. also Venom are you the Venom I think you are

    Scarface is cute! The normal-sized fedora on his microfig head is goofy, but I like it. Great reuse of the CMF Grandpa bald-piece, too. The way the gun is held is probably just artistic freedom though, and not what we'll be getting in a physical release. With Green Lantern appearing in the same comic with them, and knowing that Hal is sure to pop up next year, it's certain now that the puppetmaster and his extra-large dummy are appearing in next year's lineup. Scarecrow too, by the looks of it. Actually, pairing the Scarecrow, master of fear, with the Green Lantern -- whose weakness is the color of fear -- is a good idea. It's a shame we won't be getting any Lantern villains that way, but with the current trend of JL members facing off against appropriate Bat-villains (Aquaman versus preserving fish meat and the Flash against a guy who will make a riddle out of a banana), a set with that set-up fits perfectly! Where the Ventriloquist will pop up, however, is yet to be seen.. EDIT: Almost forgot to mention the DKR mutant having a cameo in the background! Nice touch.

    I doubt that it's gonna be a Nixel, given the description encouraging Mixing. Maybe it's because they're trying to keep the figure a secret, but I don't see why, and if it really was a Nixel they would have had the product description reflect that. Mini-Mixel seems more likely. EDIT: Amazon France has a listing for another activity book that states explicitly that it comes with two buildable figures, and a title that implies that these figures will be a Mixel and a Nixel. No picture though. Its price is slightly higher than the Amazon.fr price for the other activity book with figure, but looking at the prices for other activity books with minifigs (like Chima's), which are all over the place, I don't think the price indicates much at this point.

    Splendid work. The joints actually blend in really well here and look like smaller chunks of rock! I'm not really sure about the choice to just have Queen hanging about there, though. The choice of a battle between Thor and him seems out of the blue. Maybe a more fitting character, likely a Marvel villain, would have been better, or maybe if Green Arrow had his own effect to justify his inclusion. Is that GA for real, by the way? Is it an actual copy of the exclusive fig? Or i it actually.. a copy. Of that fig.

    Adding some of my thoughts on next year's lineup... It looks like three is the standard for 'main focus' subthemes (IM3 for 2013, USM for Winter 2014, GOTG for Summer 2014), while 'lesser focus' subthemes get two (USM in 2013, AA in Winter 2014); of note is that both examples of lesser subthemes received one $20 set and one $50 set. 2012, the line's release, is the exception, wherein we received -four- sets for our main focus subtheme, The Avengers, and then one set each for a lesser subtheme - USM - and what I'll call a 'least focus' subtheme, X-Men. X-Men also received a single set this year, intended to coincide with DOFP. Four AoU and three USM sounds like a good amount, and will be the most likely of our speculation here. However, it would seem odd that there would be two main focus subthemes during the first half of the year. That would mean that there would probably be only two USM sets out then. This might mean that USM will receive a $20 and a $50 again, which would be enough to give us the elusive White Tiger, and also provide us with at least one new Spider-Hero from the Web Warriors season. If we get lucky and receive as many sets as we got this year, we'll have three more sets to go. This could mean a. one lesser focus and one least focus subtheme, or perhaps b. three least focus subthemes. Going with option a., we might get two AA sets featuring Ant-Man and maybe a set to make up for a lack of Dark World and Winter Soldier characters. If LEGO gets a chance to obtain another Marvel movie license for next year, then we could then get two Ant-Man sets instead. Surely however, the least focus set will be for the Fantastic Four, in order to coincide with the film. A bit more about FF in a bit. If we get option b., then we'll get an Ant-Man-centric set (probably AA because one set for a movie license is just a waste), an FF set and I'm thinking maybe another GOTG set to go with their new TV series. I've been reading the talk about FF potentially not getting anything next year because Marvel intends to cancel their FF books and keep tie-in toys from reaching shelves, and I understand what this means for LEGO, but I don't think it'll keep us from getting a set with Marvel's first super family. DOFP did not actually get any merchandising this year, if you've noticed. It was stated somewhere (a Marvel writer's Twitter feed, I believe) that Disney/Marvel didn't want any toylines for the movie, like they don't want any for FF next year, but despite that, we got our X-Men set (and a line of comic-based action figures from Hasbro). This means that comic-based toys could still make it through to toy stores, and since LEGO can only make comic-based sets for non-MCU movies anyway, we're all good in that area.

    Oh man, I sure hope LEGO does fantastically on any future baby face prints. Right now, with that picture, the face makes it look like a fully-grown minifig wearing the weirdest dress I've ever seen. Those arms look far too long.. Of course, they look fine on Maggie.

    Cowled Wolverine! Glad to see I was wrong in assuming he'll be maskless again. Also really appreciate that they gave us the yellow-and-brown suit, in order to give us a variant but still have the cowl be compatible with the 2012 Astonishing suit (if you ignore the Astonishing suit's back-cowl, anyway). It's nice of LEGO to have given us a Sentinel, even though it may have been done better. But as a secondary build in a larger set, I think they captured the thing's stature and likeness fairly well. Shame about the face though. Also wish the torso was more than just a printed (and it -is- printed; notice how the lines don't stop because of needing multiple stickers) slope. Funny how the Sentinel has flickfires on its shoulder.

    What if the Nixels could combine, like the Mixels? Mixel-sized combiners that could be rebuilt into multiple Nixels. That way we can get three varied bagged sets for Wave 2 and still have enough Nixels to fight all of the Mixels released by that point. I'm thinking that their claw hands are actually the ball cups of the mega-Nixel.

    A LEGO Christmas Tale 2013? Have there been several Christmas Tale employee-exclusives over the years that have not had a shred of information released to the public? Or rather, just a few that I didn't find on Google? Really cute set, and I bet the monochrome minifig collectors would have loved getting those blank heads. Could they possibly be optional bricks to give Santa a float-stand?
