Thanks all, nice to see you like it. The logo took me a while to make though. It started out by overlaying a logo print out with cheese slopes at first, wanted to do it mosaic style. It lacked the curves and futuresque feel to it, so gave it a few other shots... ended with this one. Not completely satisfied with it, 'cause of the headlight bricks at the sides, but couldn't come up with another solution for it.

I had the thought of joining this contest for two reasons; never made a vignette before and I'm diggin' the masked vigilante... The vignette itself is a landing pad section of a near future batcave. I really wanted to incorporate the batlogo in it somehow (like the over the top Batman & Robin movie batcave), so it extends 1 stud from the base. The hoverbike was mostly made because I just love to build hoverbikes, although the windscreen is a little hommage to the 60's batcycle. The vignette needed some color, it looked to plain, so decided to incoporate some badguys as well... Don't know if they actually occupied the batcave before, but seemed like a interesting twist. Nightwing; a hoverbike inspired by 'The Dark Knight' and 'Batman Beyond'. Flickr Gallery Comments and critisiscm welcome.

Thanks you very much, best comment I've recieved so far. Well, I might be making something for Novvember, so it's a bigger build than I'm used to. Still no idea if it's gonna be in the NCS theme though.

My Most Depressing Lego-Related Day Ever...
-zenn replied to TheLonelySquireOfGothos's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I would firstly sort my lego and droppings out in a tub ... *lol* Secondly get some pillowcases and put the lego in so you can put it in the washer. Oh yeah, wash your hands really good. Mice are disgusting. -
Very slick! I actually bought all seasons of BB just a few days ago. I think the batmobile could be made somewhat smoother, other than tht it looks great already! Love the gang you've put in there, might I ask how you made the BB torso?

Can't wait for my BL orders to come in, it was really hard to get some Batman fig parts, and finish my moc. Still pondering about the vignette base... So many ideas, been watching all the movies/cartoons and read some additional comics as well.

Happy B-day Oswald Cobblepot, from all of your friends...

Thanks, while I was building the mock-up version I used those grey rims with pinholes, I wished TLG would make them in red 'caused they looked great as well. Thanks, I seem to build more in NCS style lately. It just has some sort of elegance to it.

Sounds like a nice contest, since I'm not able to participate in the other one I'm gonna build something for this one. Too bad I don't own any official Batman figs already, they're hard to come by.

Welcome and enjoy the boards! I'm amazed that you can build all that only using a few sets. What kind of book did you wrote btw?

Jersey Shore was the first thing I thought when I saw this topic's tittle. I must say Zookie & Edok are great renditions of there human counterparts, you captured the look exactly!

Well... This build started of with my previous quad-moc, while I build I usually have my tv set on Discovery Channel. They happend to show reruns of Battle Machine Brothers. So I just had to take it to the next level. Aeolis; a neo-classic space all-terrain vehicle inspired by 'Howe & Howe Tech: Mini Rip' and 'Rob Zombie - Mars Needs Women'. Nice use of that canopy, overall nice looking build.

I like the idea behind this build, the lump of ice is a nice touch. Although I think you can do better than this from looking at some of your previous builds. It looks rather unfinished to me, like it was just thrown together or someting. So in my opinion; give it another look.

When building space themes, what kind of color schemes do you go with?
-zenn replied to fr33manator's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Haha, I don't know. Only have it with basic colors. I just read on wiki it's called color synesthesia... Anyway ontopic, I mostly use; 1 base color, 1 primary highlight, 1 secondary highlight and 1 trans color. -

Interesting, since I was younger I always combined colors to certain number, same goes for combo's (and vice versa). Although, some colors might have a different number when turned around, but it just makes sense to me. examples; 3 (blue) + 7 (yellow) 2 (green) + 5 (red) 3 (blue) + 5 (red) black (1) + white (0) red (3) + yellow (2) orange (5) + green (3) I know, weird huh... -
That's kewl. I would totally get something out of both machine. Just for the sake it's a lego vending machine, yeah I know that's a weird thought...
