  1. Nice collection Sandy! I am envious of these, and I don't do much Harry Potter. At first I thought it was going to be some sort of ditty or poem
  2. Father Alexander, is this true? Why was my son targeted? I demand an explanation! Father Alexander and Miguel's stories don't quite match up. Miguel says that the Father told him to target Hernan, but Alexander doesn't seem to know for sure whether Miguel was told to.
  3. Yes, we know who the first assailant is; but we can not know for sure the time if it was Miguel. Is Miguel here? Well, no matter. We'll see his knife wound tommorow if this is true.
  4. 'Tis good we've burned another witch, but it seems to me that the paranoid inquistor theory might have it's merits. 3 in a row? That's a bit suspicious to me. Good that Hernan shived shanked stabbed the attacker. Now we'll know for sure if this assailant is one of our own! That's not what many of us would find to be natural love. Even if you mean a Frenchie.
  5. This is great! The set istself is fairly lack-luster, but the figs are greast! The soldiers have great printing, and the Captain actually has an accurate design! See: Royal Navy Commander 1756 See? I love how coat tails are printed on the back. That's just special.
  6. And I thought the nogastalic orginal 1950's theatre was charming! This is loverly! This really captures the spirit of Art Deco, and, dare I say it, 1920;'s pulp novels. I want to see more like this!
  7. Through re-reading today, allthough I have my doubts, I will Vote: Sabrina/Lt. Col. Thok
  8. Oh, what luck! I've been studying some archetectural models for something, so prepare to learn how your mansion can be more realistic. WARNING: MAY CONTAIN GRAPHIC ARCHETECTURAL DETAILS NOT SUITABLE FOR MINORS! 1. Remove all the gray, or make it all gray. That way is could either be all stone or all painted wood, but not together. It just doesn't mesh well. 2. On the gables (the triangular bit the holds the roof) make it white. Or gray. Whatever type of style you prefer. #. The portico (the 4 columns and the pediment [pointy roof-thing] that they hold) make it higher, or if you don't have enough bricks, make a sort of porch thing for them so they're higher. A-like so: Disneyland's Antebellum Haunted Mansion The Baroque-Palladian Holburne House in Bath Perhaps not all that relevant as they are different styles (the mansion is Georgian, right?) I think the suggestions would improve the look alot! Also, as Boney suggested, a chimney or two. Probably at the ends, like a-so: Do a google search for 'georgian house' and for the whole first page, there will not be a single house that breaks the Georgian chimney rule.
  9. That is great! The use of forced perspective is not something we see all the time, and the mini-landscaping and building is loverly! The action of the MOC is gory to an extreme, which is just what the contest is for! Keep it up!
  10. Nay M'lord. I merely saw the paintings given to us by GOD. And Father, perhaps Philip is an investigator, but since he went to the house of the woman he stares at night and day, that seems a mite unlikely.
  11. Whatis goign on? Why are the priest abd Sergio looking in on Charles? This has obviously happened before, as Charles said "Oh, you two are here again..." So, what's going on? As to Joan and Charles wearing all their clothes in bed, it is getting cold, escpecially when you're living in a uninsulated stone manor house. Another question: why is M'lady Joan wearing breeches? Isn't that a mite... improper for a lady of her postition?
  12. Huh. I'm sure these are preliminary, but Spongebob's house looks just like the one from the Bikini Bottom set, just with more furniture.
  13. I was reading something that said the writers of POTC originally wanted to call the Black Pearl the Wicked Wench but couldn't get the rights from Disney. So it doesn't seem right that they can't get the rights from the writers of POTC. Wouldn't Disney ensure they had all of the rights they could possibly aquire anyway? -Zuloo I beleive the offical back story for the Black Pearl is that the Black Pearl was the Wicked Wench, and Jack Sparrow was a merchant captain for the EITC. They burned the WW after he set a load of slaves free, and he got Davy Jones to bring it back for him. That's why it's black, or something like that. Here's the WW as she appears in the ride (at Disneyland): The design is Spanish Galleon-esque, and of course, it quite similar to the design of the Black Pearl, save the paint job. 1] Actually, the PotC ride at WDW isn't very good. It's shorter (due to Florida's Watertable) and it's not a well up-kept. As someelse said, "it was horribly botched in the after-birth." The Haunted Mansion is both bigger and better at WDW. Besides, based on http://disneyshauntedmansion.yuku.com/topi...ost.html?page=1 (reply #6) , Disney is trying to distance themselves from that movie as much as possible. 2]I know that the Eddie Murphy move didn't do well, it's just an example. Maybe if Disney & LEGO got together for a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea line and bulding contest... ^ Evocative, isn't it?
  14. Well, let's do some reasoning, shall we? The Orlando Lego store is located in Downtown Disney. Downtown Disney is owned by the Disney Company (and is former home of Pleasure Island, which closed Sep. 28th to make room for... shopping). Disney uses brand name stores to push stuff. The Lego store there has window displays of Disney characters and the Disney Castles from around the world in Lego form. There is a large Loch Ness Monster-esque monster out in the lagoon... made of Lego. The Magic Kingdom has a fairly-recently renovated (but still horribly botched) PotC ride, which, considering how expensive and lackluster the Jack Sparrow updates were, has probably been under-performing, with the even more recently renovated(and very nice looking, from my last trip) Hanted Mansion. Disney has to pay money to keep Jack and Davy in PotC (owned not by Disney, but the PotC writers. That's why there's no Black Pearl attacking the town. It's still the Wicked Wench.), wheras the HM has no lisccenced characters, thus is cheaper. They want to make PotC to sell better, and guess what... LEGO is releasing a new pirate line! Now we can push PotC and the Pirate Line to kids visting WDW. This is pure speculation, but since Disney has a history of finding what the kiddies like, then over doing it and runnign it into the ground, this seems pretty likely. (PotC and High-School Musical are good examples.) Considering I'm EB's resident Disney-phile, I'm sure none ogf you have any idea as to most of the stuff I'm talking about.
  15. I'm real;y getting sick of Disney focusing only on PotC. There are other things at WDW, dontcha know. The contest looks fun, but seriously. How 'bout some sort of Haunted Mansion bulding contest?
  16. On October 30th, 1938, the now famour War of the Worlds broadcast was aired on CBS and it's affilates. It has now become famous in American society, sparking myths that people entered a state of mass-hysteria, even running to hide in the mountains, the reason being that as the show was one long, unbroken show, thus giving it realsim. The show was 'regular' boradcasting of "Raymond Rocello & his Orchestra," interspersed with reports of a cylinderical meteor landing in Grover's Mill, New Jersey, and a Martian invasion. Even 70 years later, many stations re-broadcast it every Halloween in the US. This year I had the pleasure of sitting around an antique radio and listening to it. The Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_Worlds_(radio) And a place to download the broadcast for your listening pleasure: http://www.archive.org/details/WAROFTHEWORLDS2 Happy (belated) Halloween, every one!
  17. Hey guys. Tiny Pius- Thanks for setting up this great game!
  18. I deserve to win because I do. And the Magic word is obviously Hugh Laurie. Just in case, it could also be Marlin. Or please.
  19. You cut the new DS Palpatine? I;m dissaponted in you. Looks cool, though. I didn't even know those torsoes exsisted, save the Navy tie-less version from Market Street.
  20. Omg, that is so great! The minute I saw that, the phrase "JOHN WILKES BOOTH'D" immediatly came into my head. These are great prototypes, but the Derringer and the Colt Navy Revolver are my personal favorites.
  21. Then, realising that it was Chuck Norris that had landed in it, the elephant dung cleaned itself of his cowboy boots and beard.
  22. But Chuck Norris wasn't, and he smashed through the ceiling. "This is all to confusing, so someone has to go!" and he delivered a roundhouse kick to the neck of Bob, which severed his head. Chuck Norris then flew out the hole he created in the roof.
  23. There will never be a ship better than the BSB or SES. Unless, of course, they take my suggestion and make a special edition Cafe Corner-esque Modular Ship-of-the-Line. That will never happen, though.
  24. I have to say these look great ... from astern. The bows are too low and frankly, kind of ugly. The smaller ships suffer from Square Stern Syndrome. Also, the smaller sterns are a little high, for my taste. I suppose that's the trouble with prefab hulls. However, there are many redeeming features. The sterns on the larger ships are great. I even see the Neptune IV's side castles angling back to meet the stern gallery. Lovely! The amount of cannons you must posses is very impressive, along with the amount of mast and hull pieces. The sails are just perfect, and I can give them no higher praise. Keep on building.
