Hey all. While looking for pirate videos on YouTube for inspiration, I ran across these "How it should have ended" videos, and a link to the site. They are pretty good and pretty funny. How It Should Have Ended.com My favorite is the Dead Men's Chest one, because at the end Regetti says: "This ain't nothin' like the ride at Disney World." X-D

I have the awnser! As you see here on my EF, the water level is very high: But at the ramp it goes down, so the water is not visible under the dock, and it is down on the left side: But in the back of the fort (Back-left corner) the lower water level rises: WHich would seem to be an error to me considering the box pics are of the original, and that the BL seller who sold me mine said it was the 1989 original version.

I chose Classic Pippin. It's just that the new Pippin has that thing going on like Britney Spears, where her eyes are really wide, and really far apart. Like there was a surgery that should have happened at birth to fix it, but it didn't happen. You following me? X-D

WOW! Some of the skeletons may come in handy... looks like my Haunted Mansion mystery may have to be prostponed...AGAIN :-P Ahh well, now the mansion might be able to have more ghost choose "Active Retirement"... They're JUST dying to have you... *skull*

SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS X-O ! Those look nice X-O ! Is it me, or did they change the things on the side of the stern castle to red, where is was black in the proto-type?

I don't like the look of them on the minifigs. They are good, don't get me wrong, but they look like the kind of thing you'd use for a vig, i.e., a soldier barracks, the soldiers themselves have real shakos, and then these are hanging on a peg.

Sorry, I was feeling rather groggy when I posted this, so edit at will Mr.Phes

Both. The Big Thunder Mesa is a salute to Disney's Big Thunder Mountain (It's mentioned in my WW version of The Haunted Mansion), but it needed a town to take place in. In the mystery you will be able to see the abandoned town... who's residents are still havin' a wild time!
-
Oh, I suppose that makes SOME sense...
-
Well, Big Thunder Mesa is a WW town that I'm building. I'm afraid it's top secret and a WIP so no pics, as I want to keep the details private but I can give you pictures of two residents with questionable reputes: What WW town would be complete without them? Cowboys need love too, they just have to pay.

I love it *wub* !! Though I must say, when I first saw it, the name "Phantom" made me think about the Haunted Mansion at DisneyLand, and then I began humming Grim Grinning Ghosts from the HM graveyard scene to myself :-P . Check the link, the song is actully quite catchy 8-o .

What licensed themes would you like to see?
Norrington replied to BearHeart's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, but Halo is LESS likley to happen. After all, pirates is *Cough-mostley-cough* family friendly, and has most of the violence and other things removed, plus, it would be like a new pirates theme. Because unlike REAL pirates, the pirates of Lego, and Potc-the ride, follow the striped-shirt and waist-sash sterotypes of cartoon pirates. -
Good thing Im pretty sure I'm neither X-D

Ahem... but WHAT? I'd try searching for what you're talking about but I'm sure that all the will come up is pornagraphy.

Some qoutes of the Great Walt Disney: "If you can dream it, you can do it." " Laughter is America's most important export. " "People look at you and me to see what they are supposed to be. And, if we don't disappoint them, maybe, just maybe, they won't disappoint us. " "The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique. " "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." "There is more treasure in books than in all the pirates' loot on Treasure Island and at the bottom of the Spanish Main... and best of all, you can enjoy these riches every day of your life." "We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. " "When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable." "When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do. " "You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality. " "You can't just let nature run wild. " "You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you. " "You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway." "I have no use for people who throw their weight around as celebrities, or for those who fawn over you just because you are famous. " "I have been up against tough competition all my life. I wouldn't know how to get along without it. " "I don't like formal gardens. I like wild nature. It's just the wilderness instinct in me, I guess." "I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things." "I believe in being an innovator." "I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter." "Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our greatest national resource - the minds of our children. " "All your dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them. " "A man should never neglect his family for business." Such an awe-inspiring man... :'-)

How Well Do You Like the Ninja Theme?
Norrington replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Was that bump really needed? If you keep the habit of only ressurecting threads, you might be banned. Sorry if this sounds mean, but just a friendly reminder. -
Depends, have you ever been on the Haunted Mansion/ Phantom Manor? If you havn't, check out all the site I linked and check them thoroughly, and you'll probably be able to get most references to the attraction, and most clues that are thrown at you.

AHH... Sid Meier's pirates... my favorite pirate game of all time. You probably shouldn't sink ships if they are holding spice, goods, etc., or if the ship is badly. I'd still keep it, fix it up, upgrade it, then sell. I assume you recently aquired this wonderful game? Because you made a reference to the item "Set of Balanced Swords" in the Pirate Captain thread... Now, on topic, this ship looks very nice, and I like the green sails. But I don't recall the slopes on that cannon being in any green except light green.

He uses Luke Skywalker's old face.

Well, all I can say about most of the wild-west spooks is that they're not in the mansion itself. The only ghosts in the mansion are from the DisneyLand original (i.e. the ballroom dancers), the story itself is the modified version of the Phantom Manor from DisneyLand Paris version. Here is a link to that story, so you can compare it to mine: Da Link The main charachters (Henry, Melenie) are borrowed from Manor, and the rest are from the original, so I'd check the links in my first post for reference.

Brick Testament: Education or Exploitation?
Norrington replied to Norrington's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Matthew has a point, the audience is children in some cases, but ONLY the books. The parents are more likley to look in the children's religous section than the internet for religous lessons. I have skimmed through the books, and to put money in his pocket, "the Rev" has edited the books to make them appropriate. -
No, you won't need brasso. The standard male hair peice covers all the mechanical part up.

Well, the mystery is being prostponed for a week or so, because the Mansion fell on the floor while it was being moved for pictures, and I was going to rebuild it anyway. It is now no longer just haunted, but It involves cowboy and wild-west ghosts. The Story will take place in the Frontier! The story of the Reavenswood Estate is a dark story you see, it's a story of lost love, and death, and other things that parents may not find sutible for children under the age of 14 X-D . Anywhos, the dilapadated mansion once belonged to Henry and Mary Reavenswood. In 1840 Henry Reavenswood, while moving his family out west to the Anaheim ,Calfifornia (;-) to DisneyLand), stopped in a strech of desert surrounding a lake. While looking for wood for a fire, he saw something glittering, and struck GOLD! The word spread, and soon the place where gold was found was Big Thunder Mesa, and Henry Reavenswood was rich! He then started Big Thunder Railroad (More ;-) to DisneyLand), and retired. He had a large Mansion on the hill overlooking the town built, and moved in his wife, Mary, and his daughter Melanie. As his daughter was to be wed, he found his daughter's fiance was going to take her far away from Thunder Mesa, which Henry wouldn't allow. So, the night of his daughter's wedding, he took his son-in-law to be into the gallery, where paintings of his Grandmother, his Uncle, a Marquis, His sister, and his brother. The room begain stretching, revealing unsettling circumstances in the paintings. His Grandmother was sitting atop a chair, balancing on his grandfathers grave. His uncle was dressed like a Marquis, wearing boxers, on a keg of dynamite, with a lit fuse. His sister was standing with a parasol, standing on an unravelng tightrope, above a river full aligators. His brother was rather plump, sitting atop another rather plump man, sitting atop a rather skinny man, waist deep in quick sand. After he revealed these things, he laughed a maniacal laugh, and punched out the fiance. He then took him to the top of the gallery, and hung him. As this was happening, Melanie entered the room to show the wedding guests the portraits, she gazed in fear and alarm at her father. Melanie rushed up to her room, and would only wander the mansion from night. In 1860, an earthqauke hit Thunder Mesa, and Henry and Martha were killed. Their graves can still be found in the cemetary on the hill surrounding the house. Melenie is rumored to still walk the halls of the mansion, but no one knows... That is all for now, Foolish Mortals!

Brick Testament: Education or Exploitation?

Instructions on Marriage Take this as a perfect example. I think the "Rev." exploited the Bible there, because Paul probably did not intetnion it to be sexual. And if he did, it would not ALL be like that, just breifly mentioned.
