From what I understand from the Lego Life mag is that they are going to can the regular true high gloss chrome colors with the spray paint style chrome. I may be wrong, but this is what it seemed like to me.

From what I understand, it is set in stone. Just like the color changes they will keep the old colors for Legend sets while all new sets will be the new colors/chrome.

For Lego's sake, I hope the kids love these sets. The reason I don't really care for the Bionicle line (other than they don't seem like Lego to me) is they don't really promote creativity. Kids just buy them to collect and build the one character on the front of the box. You should hear how many people come into our store with kids that primarily collect Bionicle sets and ask us what can kids do with the buckets and Pick-A Brick items. When you tell them they can build anything they can imagine, the kids and parents ask "what do you mean". Hopefully the Viking sets will show kids they can think outside the box and use a little creativity.

Some people have worse life than yours dude ! I can't even beg for a 30% rebate ;) Ha ha ha. I think I will wait then for the 30% off. :P ;)

Hmmm, this is the hell that is my life. I could wait until my store gets the new sets so I can get 30% off or I could order it online at full price and get it in a few days. Hmmm :/ ;)

I love the set with the boat and the big green snake/serpent. All of the sets are cool but I could also do without the Bionicle style creatures. I'm sure that with the success of Bionicles, Lego is just trying to cash in. I also get a happy old school feel about these sets, I guess because these sets remind me of the old pirate theme with a little castle tossed into the mix. :-D

That is the word Apo, we even had an article in Lego Life (employee mag) that confirmed this change. It is very sad to hear Lego make this change. It is a good thing I got a copy of the UCS Naboo Fighter before they used spray paint.

That is really cool. I can't wait to see what all the new sets look like. Now all we need are Roman sets... :D
