As the Kaliphlin civil war came to a close, shortage of food, and resistance to the new leader of the guild, causing unrest among the populace. Now, after the mock glamour of the civil war attracting so much attention from the wider diplomatic scene, let us return to the desert lands to find what goes on there... After the civil war in Kaliphlin ended in stalemate, the main concerns of it's leaders turned to how to rebuild their shattered economy. Marauding armies had raided and decimated farms throughout the land, leading to wide spread hunger and deprivation. Peregrinus had fared somewhat better than it's neighbouring provinces, as most of it's battles had been fought against Ulandus on the sea. Although not blessed with much arable land, the locals have made do by cutting into the hillsides, creating terraces where produce can be grown. Soldiers from both sides of the conflict have found ready work on the land, finding a new common purpose after the exhaustion of war. OstrichKnights by Kayne _, on Flickr However, they cannot be everywhere at once, and cannot stop the meetings between those who disapprove and rebel against the Desert king, at locations such as the Maritime Inn on the Southern Coast of Kaliphlin. Chapter2a by Kayne _, on Flickr And the minions of the desert king have, so far failed to find the location of one of the main supporters of the High Council, buried in the almost forgotten, cavernous cellars beneath Castle Anrarr on the inland sea.
