I don't see why you would be complaining about another minifig. Besides... + = useful to space fans. @Vynsane: I'm looking for alien troops too, but that's a good idea as well, especially since I figured out where my local Target likes to stash its polybags. I'd get a a black jetpack piece too, although no aliens.

Seriously, this theme needs a battle pack, the lack of minifigs astounds me. If I collected every set, I would have less than 10 ADU guys. Oh, and more aliens + ray guns are cool too.

Thanks for all the nice comments! This certainly encourages me to post more MOCs in the future. @Fuzzylegobricks: The number of reporters wasn't the issue, but rather the amount of cameras and decent cameramen I could find at the moment.

The mothership itself is a pretty good set, but still, it lacks that "mothership" vibe. I know that lego obviously can't make the 15-mile party ships in Independence Day, but still, seeing some other sets in other themes, I just can't figure out why lego couldn't flesh out the ship a bit more instead of having a normal saucer stuck on a ring. I'm considering taking apart my (non-UCS) Millennium Falcon just to give these guys a proper mothership. And if they had to have it be that insubstantial and porous, I would suggest at least making the diameter twice as big or something, because the current one just doesn't cut it. Maybe next wave????? Just bought the Earth HQ (Thanks Final Exit for THAT) and the small 10 dollar jeep. I love it, definitely playable. I modded the fighter to fit about 12 flick fire missiles, because missiles are the staple of any fighter design I also made an MOC doodle of the saucer crashlanding, I might post it if I can get to my camera.

So I didn't get in... Oh well, there's always next time! It'll be interesting to watch KHinckley's new mafia game.

I thought that while this set would be awesome, it just wasn't worth the money. Sure, there was the new figs, the ADU and alien fighters that were designed so good they made me cry, the face-raper pet thing, the laptop and new scanner slope and the other cute bits. But when I saw that syringe, that's when I made my decision. Thank you, Final Exit, for convincing me to buy this great set.

Oh, crap, I must amend my post. I have checked my schedule and I will be away somewhere during the week of May 30th, where I will have dubious internet, and through June 1-3 I will probably be EXTREMELY busy with little time for other things.

Edit: Never mind, I'll be a man and join. 1. No, although I won't be able to be very active , although I think I can at least post in all the day threads until then. 2. I've never played one on Eurobricks before, although I used to several times in real life. 3. My favorite animal has to be a beluga whale, although out of the Fabuland figures the pig is my favorite. Edit: I'm aware that I haven't explained myself and accidentally deleted that part already. Basically, I want to prove myself on Eurobricks and hopefully refresh my mafia skills a bit, not to mention experience online. That being said, I'll have time for this, just not spread-out and very concentrated. I hope I can be a positive contribution to this game, it's an honor to sign up to one of your games, Hinckley.

We need to have a soldier like this come out officially: That's the reason I LOVED the space police III: their uniforms actually looked like a military!!!

Not trying to point out every little thing, but I couldn't help myself... They had plenty of those in the christmas bakery and toy shop, unless I missed something. Links to respective suggestions: -This or that make excellent substitutes to real pen and pencil molds. -Can't find it right now, but Harry Potter had a tile with a book printed on it -'Nuff said 'bout small fires. -The same effect can be approximated with a 4 stud bar and a horizontal clip plate without a new mold. -Kind of old fashioned and probably discontinued, but this piece fits the bill.

Oh my, I'm afraid I almost derailed the topic there with the discussion about military sets. That being said, the vehicles in this theme are beautiful and extremely well designed(just look at that fighter in the HQ!) yet retain just enough fantasy to look sci-fi. My only complaint was if they would release a theme in "realistic" color designed like this theme, but knowing the nature of TLG's target demographic that seems highly improbable. Even white, like the following example, would be good, but it would have been so much better if the theme wasn't the blatantly unreal bright blue it is.

Creativity's important, but there's times when you want to slap down some money and have an instant army, not to mention most can barely create multiples of their military stuff while sets could be used to obtain a battalion. A dark grey, "real" color scheme is something I'd like to see in lego, like this maybe?

Bought about a $100 dollars worth of figs in the past couple days. The only minifig that I need to complete my set is the werewolf, I have a complete set, a squad of 5 radiation workers, 2 scientists, and a bunch of extra minifigs that my mom wanted (she came to visit). A store employee was nice enough to give me a scientist she took out of the boxes beforehand for herself to me, which is great because I'm planning to amass a veritable army of them.

[Rant]So lego makes a theme called Alien CONQUEST, lists the minifigures as alien SOLDIERS, includes alien FACE-RAPERS, ABDUCTION features, SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENTATION on the aliens, and a human military force with awesome jets, jeeps, and copter/fighter along with new guns. TLG, make a god-d*mn REAL military theme already! You've already fell in this far with this Alien Conquest, why the d*mn are you avoiding an extremely profitable market that would double the company size while still violating your principles?! You guys make no sense!![/Rant] Sorry for the rant, had to get that out of my system. The sets are pretty well designed, although the tripod walker and the smaller UFO don't appeal to me for some reason. The UFO mothership screams of cheapness with that gaping hole between the outer ring and the center, but I'll get it anyway because it's the "most" retro of all of these. Might have to get the HQ for that lovely fighter...

Interesting Mafia School game Sandy! The sets and storyline were brilliant, it was such a drag that I didn't join at first . I'll make sure I don't miss the next one. Congratulations to the passed students and the winners! I haven't read many mafia games here, but this is the first time I've seen a town victory? I wonder what the next one will be about... Also: Oblivious fools, there'd be so many people that it'd be impossible to keep track of innonence and guilt. Some mafia member could even do a day-kill and it'd be so crowded nobody would no know who it was.

I saw a Harry Potter Filch torso in my BAM selection. I made sure I picked one up just to see how it would look with a top hat.

I know that, so that's why I'm interested. Some lurking around and I stumbled upon that thing in the mafia index thread. I'm always busy in the day and most of night so I just hope I can put in the commitment of participating on either side of the game. Ha, I regret not signing up for this. I was initially put off by all the big words and such, but later on after some lurking and watching from the sidelines I realized this was exactly like my childhood game. I have some opinions on the situation, but since I'm a non-player I guess I'm supposed to stay out of it. I hope you guys have fun! I was just starting to think about hosting one (I used to play this game a lot when I was young), but wanted to play in a couple first so I become familiar with the format used by Eurobricks.

n00b question, but will there be more "Mafia School" games like this? I started to gain interest right after sign-up was closed, so I was just wondering.

Oh yay, another great review from our minifigures summarizer White Fang! Some of the distribution works out well, with the hazard dudes, musketeers, and sailors(great for ships and SHIPs alike) being relatively common compared to the last couple series. But sh*t for me, I want an army of 5-10 scientists, if I thought gathering 10 samurai were hard I'm going to have a hell with this two in a box thing.

Sorry for being annoying with all my questions, this is the first competition I'm seriously thinking about participating in so I don't want to mess it up. Is it alright to use multiples of the same minifigure from the same series in catergory B? I have an idea for using traffic cops as soldiers, but I'm thinking about stuffing 3 or 4 in the entry. Also, can you make minor changes to the 2 actual minifigures from series 1 or 2? The specific example I'm thinking aboutis to add epaulettes to, say, a spaceman or traffic cop. Finally, can the bignette be made to accomodate more than one selected series 3 minifigure? Only one alien doesn't seem to threatening to me...

Well, there's always the option of putting a bunch of gold tiles together. That's what I did one time in an MOC.

I have a question: For category B, does it have to contain a series 1 minifigure AND a series 2 minifigure? I am having difficulty finding anything space-related in series 2...

A lego shop employee said the latest batch of series 3 minifigures have changed dot patterns/lack them, which may explain the weird patterns on some of the polybags I looked at today. Truth or bull to prevent me from "cheating"?
