Yes, I did a ton of image editing to them. I'm actually glad you cannot tell, that means I did it fairly well haha! The first image was actually two seperate pages scanned in, so they had crese marks along their left and right sides. See here: http://www.peeron.com/scans/260-1/38 I also adjusted brightness, contrast, levels, removed noise, and I actually did use an unsharp mask as well. By putting the settings any higher, it didn't look as good. For the second image, I used this picture: http://www.peeron.com/catalogs/1989/medium/1/ and adjusted all the setting like from the first one, had to expand the left and right side to get the correct aspect ratio, I shrank the Lego logo, as well as general cleanup of dust and lint that were scanned onto the image.

Well, I got the images from scans on Peeron, so they're only as good as they were scanned in. The 3rd image was taken from here: http://www.peeron.com/catalogs/1990/medium/21/ and the 4th from here: http://www.peeron.com/scans/6285-1/1 so as you can see the quality wasn't great anyway... I use Photoshop.

Hello all. I have made some Lego Pirates desktop wallpaper using catalog scans found on Peeron. I had to do a ton of image editing to get them looking halfway decent, such as removing seams down the middle, removing artifacts, etc... They are 1280x1024 size. Please let me know what you think! *pirate* Click to download Click to download Click to download And this wallpaper is 1024x768 since I could not find a larger version: Click to download Enjoy!

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Mr. Smee replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
Cool, thanks! Yes, I especially want to pick up some of the Imperial Soldiers sets, especially El Dorado Fortress and some of the other smaller sets. You gotta have someone for the Pirates to fight against ;) I also have the Caribbean Clipper in storage at my parents house, but it has been long taken apart. I believe I also have the Forbidden Island dismantled at home as well.- 502 replies

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Mr. Smee replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
Welcome aboard laddie! You've come to the right place! Once again you become become really into pirates amongst those who share the same interest. Now lets take a look at your query... Skulls Eye Schooners aren't usually cheap, especially if they're in good condition. Did yous come with a box and instructions? A box in particular can add another US$20-$50 to this particular set. What of the Lagoon Lockup? What condition were the pieces in? Was it complete? Did it come with box and instructions. For the Skulls Eye Schooner, no box or instructions. The ship itself is in A+ condition though. As for the Lagoon Lockup, from the pictures it looks to be in good condition and be complete. It came with the instructions, no box. Thanks so much for the welcome *pirate*- 502 replies

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Mr. Smee posted a topic in LEGO Pirates
A frequently asked question by newcomers is where to buy Pirate LEGO. So this thread will be a definitive list for all those who ask - rather than having individual threads for each query. eBay Amazon.com LEGO Shop BrickLink Eurobricks Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds Forum Custom Brick Arms The Little Arms Shops BrickForge BaronSat Original Post Hey all. I used to be really into pirates back in it's heyday (early 90's) and I still have my Black Seas Barracuda :) Recently I've been getting into Lego Pirates again, and been hunting on Bricklink and eBay for the last 2 weeks. So far, I picked up a Skulls Eye Schooner (complete, excellenct condition) from Bricklink for $140 and I also got a Lagoon Lock-Up on eBay for $15.00. I think I got a pretty good deal, what do you guys think? *pirate*- 502 replies
