The 'Golden Age' of Lego, is it now?
Edmond Dantes replied to Hey Joe's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In addition to your many excellent points, the number of Lego parts has been drastically reduced in the last 8 years. This article is fairly old, but underscores the vast reduction that took place in 2005: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1234465/When-Lego-lost-head--toy-story-got-happy-ending.html (Besides staff, Lego reduced by half the number of Lego components. While once there were nearly 7,000, they're now down to around 3,000.) I've seen quite a few articles like this over the past few years. -
The smudges on Merry are quite evident - but less so on the Ringwraith. Frodo really isn't anything to worry about (maybe a millimeter offset) and Aragorn is just flat out bizarre. That could actually be worth something if it's a rare enough misprint.

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
Edmond Dantes replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
No, the stairs are correct (ascending clockwise ( http://medieval.stormthecastle.com/essays/secrets-of-medieval-castles.htm )) according to conventional theory (ironically for just the reason you state - you must be confusing yourself). However, according to this paper, there are many examples of counter clockwise stairs in castles: http://www.castlestudiesgroup.org.uk/CSGJournal2011-12X5stairs.pdf Enjoy! -

Actually, if the NILTC model isn't hinged, the design techniques are completely different. -

Buying Marvel Superhero Sets and Monster Fighters with paypal
Edmond Dantes replied to chuckie8646's topic in The Bazaar
Chuckie - you and I have done business before. I can buy the sets you want from S@H and ship them to you. I'd just charge you my cost (so, S@H price, plus my sales tax (7.375 %), plus shipping to you, plus paypal 3% (unless you send payment via gift, then no 3%)). At least I'd get VIP points + a mini sopwith camel out of it - and help you out. Let me know if you're interested. -

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Edmond Dantes replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ok, I just have to ask - What's the difference if Lego keeps everything under wraps and releases late as opposed to leaking early and releasing on time, if Singapore receives sets well after other countries? My point being - can't you still plan ahead? lol -
I usually just get emailed (ie, I sell the figs, but don't list the accessories, but people will email me requesting the accessories). So, I would email the seller. S/He might give you a deal.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

You both have your math wrong. There have been four releases per year, not two, not three - four! One every three months. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Edmond Dantes replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
His post was sarcastic, making fun of those claiming to know what's in Series 8 and yet releasing no other info - hence the generalizations to make his point. Quite obviously a snarky, yet effective (evidently) post. In other words, yes, the post was meant to sound just like the previous 7 Series - that was the entire point. -
There is a chess set that has just been released. It's up at S@H. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/LEGO-Kingdoms-Chess-Set-853373

Err, sorry, meant one in hand and one on the anvil (not the forge). I don't see one clearly in the forge...although I do see a Light bley something...

Yes, same with me - this is typical for S@H orders. The type of set doesn't usually come into play - as long as you hit the price point, you're usually fine.
