  1. I was talking to my hairdresser about Lego the other day and Technic was mentioned - she called it "the theme with all the cars". Sad that that's what it's become, really.
  2. "as certain parts, like the warning light on the roof, may move too easily." "The warning light is very close to the gear on the roof, which is used to turn the steering, this often gets in the way." The light is designed to be moveable, so you can access the steering gear.
  3. Now that you mention it, I see a lot of parallels between this set and 42094, especially the gear setup on the back.
  4. I do, I do! The multicoloured gears don't bother me that much, probably because Volvo and green go so well together! I am a bit baffled as to why TLG didn't use a black gear on top for the steering, though. Maybe it's an inventory/distribution thing.
  5. He's legendary, but I'd actually pick Michael Jeppesen. He can keep his views on my country's political situation to himself, but he's been behind some sets than run the gamut from cool to absolutely amazing - 42006, 42021, 42042, 42054, 42081, 42114... I could go on! Plus I'll always have the memories of 8226 from when I borrowed it off a mate.
  6. @Jim? Seriously, CADA is one thing, but advertising this knockoff crap is something else entirely.
  7. In the time it would take to complete the job with a shovel, you could charge the loader and do it properly!
  8. It's that flattened cab as well. Makes it look like a Dickie toy. Plus, the front mudguards are yellow, when they should plainly be black. That has just slapped me in the face like a wet fish. EDIT: Some versions of the L120 Electric do have yellow mudguards, so I'll retract that.
  9. Sadly, memories of Rock Raiders will never justify £350.
  10. Why is there a shovel on the side of this thing? It looks ridiculous and isn't even accurate.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like this thing can fit on the trailer from 42175.
  12. White track links are cool, but this set... eww, no. Think we have the worst of 2025 right here.
  13. New bucket! Wahooey! Little disappointed that this 🐕 is in a smaller scale than previous Volvo sets though. And no Audi tyres? Pooch screwed, TLG. Pooch screwed.
  14. LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THIS BITCH! And motorized functions - nice! New bucket as well! Between this set and 42209, it feels like heavy equipment is actually getting some love from TLG.
  15. According to Bricktastic.nl, 42209 is not going to be the purpose-built Volvo L120, but the L120H Conversion model. Obviously I don't know how credible this is, but here it is anyway. Here's the English translation if you don't know Dutch, or can't be arsed to run it through a translator: Volvo fans can get started with two new sets this summer, including the LEGO Technic 42209 Volvo L120H Electric Conversion Loader. This 973-piece model will be released in the LEGO Shop on June 1, 2025 for €99.99. The Volvo L120H Electric Conversion Loader is an electric version of the L120H. It offers the same performance and productivity as its diesel counterpart, but with zero emissions and quieter operation. The electric drive system means lower energy consumption and reduced maintenance costs. The L120H Electric Conversion is especially suitable for urban construction sites and indoor work, where a cleaner, quieter machine is required.
  16. No. It's only 973 parts, which makes it very much mid-range. If anything, the Volvo EC500 is this year's flagship.
  17. And the year before that. It's unlikely to change, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong on that.
  18. You forgot the thin beam on the underside of the header that gets scratched and damaged when the harvester is pushed. This is the worst set of 2024 and one of the worst Technic sets I have ever built. It is an absolute failure across the board: authenticity, nope; build, nope; functions, nope. Wasn't long before stacks of this thing showed up at discount outlets around my hometown. Mine is currently disassembled in a box along with 42178. Quite frankly, I'm not surprised the John Deere license hasn't shown up this year - I wouldn't be shocked to hear that TLG had shuffled it quietly out the back door after this disaster.
  19. Tell me about it. We haven't even had images of the summer wave for this year yet.
  20. Would sir be satisfied with a GIANT F*CK-OFF VOLVO EXCAVATOR?
