This made me laugh pretty hard. I'd love to live in Calgary! It's a huge city compared to where I live. And it's got a Lego store!

Repository of svg decals
purpleparadox replied to Emperor Krulos's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I do indeed have some ideas, scrawled in my notebook. I'm leaving on a short (5-day) vacation today, but I'll type them up when I get home! -
The Unofficial LEGO Collectors Guide RAFFLE
purpleparadox replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well...I'd have to go with 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon. I love Lord of the Rings, Superheroes, and Star Wars, but with the former two themes I can easily get all of the sets I want. 10179 is simply a dream that I'd love to have come true. -
Choice Mag Australia's insult to AFOL's
purpleparadox replied to BrickTango's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yup, they simply don't know about AFOLs. It's not significant enough to be a big deal, or to upset me. -
Nice one, Bobsy! It looks like a set that TLG would officially release. Are ya gonna put it on CUUSOO? (By the way, the render looks fantastic).

I will find out, one way or another. Especially if you incorporate it into SoF.

Fantastic, smokebelch! I get excited whenever I see that you've posted in this topic. May I ask, do you have a pic of your setup for these last few photos? (If you're willing to share).

PICTORIAL REVIEW: 9471 Uruk-Hai Army
purpleparadox replied to BaraSH's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Holy cow, BaraSH! This is magnificent photography. Top-o'-the-line, professional level photography. I think you ought to just mark it as a "Pictorial Review", and let the pictures speak for themselves! How does that saying go; "A picture speaks 1,000 words"? Completely awesome work. -
Yikes! Three years with a Lego tire up your nose? How can you just forget about that, or live with that much discomfort, for three years? Granted, he was young, but it's still crazy.

What was the last movie you watched?
purpleparadox replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
It was pretty good. It keeps your attention. Like I said though, incredibly twisted, from beginning to end. -
In the spirit of Summer of Friends, I gave The Eye a bit of a makeover... Seriously though, your original model (with the correct colour scheme) is fantastic. I'm considering Bricklinking the parts to build it!

That's a really cool solution! I too might need to borrow this... -
Already this looks like a fun MOC! As always, can't wait to see more.

purpleparadox replied to Alexandr's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
It looks a lot better, and that's coming from someone who had liked it from the start! I'm actually quite excited to see it with decals. -

Sand Green Minifig Arms Cracking Easily
purpleparadox replied to DarkFader's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I haven't yet had any problems with Sand Green arms. My Frodo is fine, my Endor Rebels, my Lady Liberty...no problems. I'm counting myself lucky. -
Hullo, D3K! Awesome to hear that you're pursuing your career in engineering, and that your Lego fire has been rekindled! I don't usually do much Technic, but I'm sure we'd all still enjoy some MOCs from you. See ya on the best Lego site on the web! -purpleparadox

What was the last movie you watched?
purpleparadox replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Not exactly a movie, but I watched Urine Town (a musical). Despite the gross/comedic name...it is one of the most gritty, twisted, grim, musicals I've seen in years. Any of you guys seen it? -
Wow, Oky! This is perfect for Friends. You got the color scheme exactly right. The flower border around the top is really nice, probably my favourite detail. That's because everyone wants to do something "different" with their entries, and the easiest way to do so is by building the opposite of the theme. Cute, clean, fun, entry! Good luck!

Does that include POTC? If so, that might just be the last bit of incentive for me to buy Queen Anne's Revenge!

Mmmmm...Stephanie makes the best kitty-burgers in all of Heartlake! Humour aside, it's built very well. Lots and lots of details packed into a vignette. Great work! Best of luck in the contest, Yatkuu!

Review: 9678 Bespin and Cloudcar/Lobot
purpleparadox replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the pics! Lobot looks amazing...I want the set simply for the fig. It's a shame that ya have to pay $10+ for it! Oh well.
