    Halloween Month Caption Contest

Caption: All the men were hesitant to see who the father really was, but the good doctor most of all.

I had to use a lot of the leave pieces, usually stacked together to give a fuller look. One thing I want to try on my next version is putting some flowers between the leaves so it looks like the tree has blossoms.

Yes, I did. This is actually my first creation since returning to Lego. I loved Lego as a kid and now I'm finding the fun doesn't stop when you get older.

As requested, here are some pictures with the leaves off. Nothing too tuff to make. The trunk is based around a long technic piece piece and has 6 sides. My only word of advice is not too get too frustrated trying to attach all the leaves... :-|

Thanks everyone for the kind words! In all honesty the hardest part of the tree to make was the trunk, but it's pretty hard to see in the pictures. I worked it out over a couple nights of tinkering, and was pretty pleased with the end result. As for the grey pieces, I agree completly. I was getting close to finishing and ran out of brown so had to do with the grey. >:-( I'll try to take some pictures with the leaves off tonight. Ivanhoe

I wanted to make a decent looking deciduous tree. I've got some ideas for improvements in the future, but currently lack the parts. Anyway, comments and suggestions would be appreciated.
  7. Looks like Toys R Us is having a buy one get one 50% off sale this week. It looks like it's good on most sets, but not Star Wars. This deal is online, but I'm not sure about in store sales. Good hunting!

Anyone been to Lego Stores lately?

You can get a loyalty card if you go to a Lego store and buy more than $25.00 worth of stuff. The cashier should offer you the chance to get a loyalty card, but if not just ask. For every $25.00 you spend you get a stamp. On stamp 9 you get a $10.00 gift card, and on stamp 18 you get a $20.00 gift card. I joined the Lego Club by calling the toll free number for my country and talking to a representative. There may be other ways to join, anyone else with some info on that can chime in here ____________

Yeah, nothing about 20% off, and I didn't get anything about December. I did forget to mention that when I was there the cashier told me that if I filled out a survey I would get an extra stamp on my loyalty card. She even let my wife fill one out for a second free stamp thus giving me the $10.00 gift card I had been working towards. I'm not sure if the survey will get you a bonus stamp everywhere, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Anyone been to Lego Stores lately?

Was at the local Lego store today and got the most recent flier. Here is what's going on for November: Nov. 1-Dec. 24 Make a $75.00 purchase and get a free holiday Pick a Brick Box with coupon Nov. 5-9 Buy any SpongeBob SquarePants set and get a free SpongeBob, Patrick, or Mr. Krabs key chain Nov. 19-20 For Lego Club members, make a $10.00 purchase and get a free City Tic Tac Toe set if you show your members card Nov. 23 "Surprise Savings" day, save 10%, 20%, maybe even 50% (this looks like some sort of scratch-off deal that has to be done when you check out) Hope that helps anyone near a Lego store.
