    Husky Eyes Art

    Thank you!
  3. With Studio, I found that the updates changed the parts library to include sets for parts. After I did my update, my program defaulted to the Library BDP series 1. I had to go to that drop down and change it to main to get all the parts back. I don't mind the programmers tweaking the software.
  4. I do both to get more exposure for my projects. Gallery doesn't allow one to sell PDFs and you have to tinker with the design of the MOC to remove any steps created for instructions purpose. I don't mind my small creations being recreated by others, but for the bigger stuff that I put a lot of time and effort into creating them, I'd rather be compensated for the work done if someone else thinks my work is good enough that they want a copy of it. No matter the theme, I think all Lego work is art be it a building or vehicle to a mosaic.

Yeah, it is annoying. I thought the sets were nice looking and used interesting pieces. I really like the clouds that they introduced as I use them for so many other things.

    Husky Eyes Art

I created an art piece that I call husky eyes. https://www.instagram.com/p/CSVi-BJLkfk/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link I started with a pic and I reduced it to 8 bit grey scale. Once that was done, I got the idea of using the 1x1 round plates with the holes in them to create additional shades beyond the four basic grey scale colors of black, LBG, DBG and white. Because those plates make up 3 more colors, because I didn't use the black plates with holes in them, I still had one more color to use so I decided to use flat silver as a tone between the LBG and DBG. Once those colors were were settled on, I then worked on the eyes. For them I knew I was going to use Dk Blue and Med Blue but didn't know what to use for the light color. By accident, I pulled out the Med Azure and tried it on the piece and it just made the eyes pop! After that, I just did the typical frame and added some gold greebling to make it more interesting looking. One of my favorite reactions to this piece was from Dawn from Lego Masters who gave me a small placard made out of Lego that said, "This made my heart soar!" and it had a Lego heart with two 1x1 Quarter circles turned to that they looked like wings for the heart. She even signed it after she found out I was trying to find the person who left it by my piece because I thought they lost it by accident. Since then, I've treasured it and it just makes me feel good that someone appreciated my work like that. This piece was also put into an art museum for a display that featured art like mine for a year.
  7. I don't know about anyone else, but I was extremely happy when Lego released the new Ford GT model. When I got it, I was completely happy with the build and I proudly display it so I can admire it because I really love the car itself. I generally do not collect Technic, but I made an exception for the Ford! lol.

    Fantasy Castle MOC

Here is an image of my large Castle keep. It is completely fantasy and I try to show that it doesn't matter what theme a piece comes in, it can often be used in a completely different theme. https://www.instagram.com/p/CoiUA0FJfzk/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link i used a link because my file sizes were too big.

I like this theme but my closest Lego shop never carries the sets and I have to order them online only. Has anyone else have this issue with their local Lego Store?

    Storage and Sorting LEGO

Hello all. I have always been fascinated with how people sort and store their Lego. For myself, I sort all my bricks out by both color and shape. I put everything into various sizes of plastic bags from snack sized bags to gallon bags depending on the pieces and their sizes. Then I put all those bags into IKEA bins called Vessla which are about 12 inches square. They are wide enough to hold two rows of sandwich sized bags. Currently, I have about 50 bins filled and sitting on shelves and I have about 100 gallons of loose brick to still sort. I tend to buy more than I can sort...
