    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I don't know if this means anything, but while the thread was locked i ordered few sets and a Shang Chi polybag 30454 from the LEGO store in Croatia. Weirdly enough on the sticker on the back (where it's says how much the set costs in Croatian currency, which countries produced the parts and the code) the set is not named Shang-Chi and The Great Protector it is actually named Red Guardian's Breakout so i am not sure if my LEGO store got their codes mixed up and leaked the name of the upcoming polybag or Red Guardian's Breakout was cancelled for the Shang-Chi polybag. Tried to search for it online, but only found a custom set on flickr by that name.
  2. Well my logic is that some people don't care about brickheadz so going out and troll voting for Jar-Jar would cost them nothing. Then there are people that actually wanted it and it was organized. Other people voting voted randomly for what they wanted from Rex, Cody, Maul, Obi Wan, to Jango Fett and Palpatine so i find it hard to believe that organized people joined by trolls lost to unorganized group of people that all picked two out of million characters and one of those two was Ahsoka.
  3. Sorry, but how are TCW/PT fans supposed to collect brickheadz when LEGO never made 1 for our era in the first place? Same with helmets.. People voted cause they wanted to get their first prequel brickheadz which meant even more cause it was a part of a movement from a youtuber they liked. I could point out to my Jar-Jar brickhead and say i made it happen, i was one of the 6571 votes and LEGO actually made it and listened to us and i am genuinely happy to have this, i might go and buy some of the older ones. Now it means nothing just like the gunship figure vote/suggestion people went out and voted and suggested for nothing. Voting thing also never stated that you can only vote if you intend to buy or if you already collect, anyone can vote. And it matters a lot cause it was our chance to pick a character and it's a character number 150. LEGO could make Ahsoka any time they wanted if they wanted to make her instead of ignoring fan votes.
  4. It is unfair from me, but there are ton of OT sets already put into the system with leaked description and not a single word of a PT set except that random Windu tank rumor. Only 11 sets and a calendar need to be revealed (maybe some random secret set pops out too) and OT is already on 8 sets while PT, TCW and ST are on 1 brickhead and 1 accessory pack and there is no way those 11 will go into their favor when we can already assume LEGO won't make a master builder set for anything other than OT and there are multiple shows that need to be covered + rebels needs a vehicle with all those imperial vehicles. I actually think he did, not many people care about Brickheadz and star wars only had 6571 votes (Ryan's video had 50k views). There are a ton of characters in Star Wars and votes have been scattered across thousands of characters, while Jar-Jar had united people voting for it so if even 5% of those people that watched voted for it he 100% won.
  5. Prequel pack is the opposite of a tie-in cause it ruins the exclusivity of the figure and includes 2 shinies that are not meant to go with oversized gunship. Also don't think it's fair to count a brickhead as a set. While TCW and PT fans have 1 accessory pack and a brickhead they most likely don't collect from a character they didn't vote for, OT fans will get a battle pack, accessory pack, AT-ST, a helmet, 3 quote diorama sets, UCS landspeeder, Master builder set and most likely more stuff in the summer wave like a snowspeeder or whatever rebels used (i don't know OT stuff). I think we can certainly say it's another OT centric year where LEGO is milking older fanbase and making just enough of prequel stuff to have prequels collectors not quit.
  6. Well we didn't get MTT since 2014, Count Dooku since 2013 or super battle droid since 2015, doesn't mean they are cancelled and will never happen again. It will happen. Accept it. Exactly.
  7. Don't think LEGO cared about controversy at all. Set retired normally after year and a half like intended. One of their main complains was about Jabba as well and there is no way LEGO never makes Jabba again. “It is not correct that the discontinuation of the product is related in any way to the [community’s] criticism,” came the official statement from the LEGO Group.
  8. 75341 should be UCS landspeeder 75340 should be advent calendar
  9. Are you sure about those numbers? I am pretty sure 75329 is garbage compactor with 666 pieces.
  10. Actually, MandR is on twitch too since 2018 mostly playing games cause he wants to expand his brand, there are occasional builds as well. He also has a vlog channel, gaming channel, star wars collectible channel etc. he is all over the place. Love him or hate him his work ethic is admirable. And i agree with most of the comments on LAN reviewers, i don't trust a single LAN member except PotterMinifigPals and will rather wait for Jang to get the set a month later or blindly buy something than trust their overly positive reviews. Will watch their news or mocs or whatever, but almost never reviews.
  11. True you only need 1, but we are in the community where people care so little about accuracy and proper size they are massing 501st builds and designers are saying commanders double as pilots so having a commander lead a squad if you don't have the old battle pack sergeant is not as bad. There are many casualities in a war so maybe a squad and a commander is all that is left from the regiment. There are also ton of troops that don't have proper rankings like 501st so despite you trying to accurately army build you have to use Anakin or Captain Rex cause you have no alternatives if you are a LEGO purist. (not judging anyone that doesn't care about accuracy, enjoy what you want if you aren't hurting anyone)
  12. For people that said this is not an army builder pack: $60 spent on accessory pack = 8 army building clones and 4 commanders $60 spent on dark trooper set = 6 army building dark troopers and 2 Luke Skywalker's $60 spent on the old phase 1 clone BP = 8 army building clones, 4 ki-adi-mundi's and 4 Barriss Offee's While you are stuck with a bunch of commanders cause you only need 1 per 9 troopers this is not a terrible value like some other stuff are. I accept that logic. LEGO bribes leakers with their own leaks and money that they don't get directly, then when they leak it to their friends it is lesser evil than them making a public video to everyone. LAN members trade growth from leaks to growth from early sets. This will just backfire imo.
  13. This is why i was cynical with leakers, i heard weeks ago they were shinies and started preparing for army building even talked about it in which new sets you bought section when the news dropped about Cody and Rex and i didn't know which source to trust. Images didn't show a blue clone, set description and code name didn't say anything about Rex or Cody so idk how they assumed Rex is in it. I am really pissed, but whatever. Super glad for this accessory set and my army building can proceed, will either buy 4 packs and bricklink 1 trooper for a squad of 9 or try to get 18, 27 or 36. Don't know what to do with a ton of commanders. May even get Ahsoka as my first brickhead, idk atm.
  14. Clone accessory pack: Command station has fold up ramps and a stand with 2 blaster rifles. Clone commander has a blaster pistol and 2 clone troopers each have a blaster rifle. Set has 66 pieces. Hoth accessory pack: includes a rotating laser cannon blaster and 2 tripod cannons. Each of the rebels has a blaster rifle. Set has 64 pieces.
  15. I thought he was blaming him when he said "when they were still in LAN.". Things were leaking, but not from LAN members in this capacity till like a year ago. Is it fair towards you that i had 3 different people from 3 different communities telling me which figures are in UCS AT-AT week before even instagram leakers posted it? Is it fair that people were dumping their Cara Dune figures cause they knew she is in the set later that year? Is it fair that 1 person gets kicked out of LAN for leaks, The Brick Show gets their channel taken away for posting copyright images and now LAN members are doing it without consequences? Again, not all LAN members are doing it, but LEGO can give a certain information to certain members and pinpoint those who leak stuff, but they aren't doing it, they even let people like briq foundation to just photoshop confidential seal of a leaked set and use it as a thumbnail.
  16. While all your other points make sense and are well informed i have to disagree with this last one. There is a big difference between MandR leaking stuff from other sources while in LAN and current LAN members straight up leaking confidential images and information that LEGO gave them early for a review or whatever. Not all LAN members are doing it, but it has to be 2 people at least and it has been going on with HP stuff, Gunship, AT-AT and those are all sets well after MandR left.
  17. 1. LEGO workers sell or just straight up give the information to leakers, some factory workers even stash the figures in their pants and then sell them on ebay or wherever (which is kinda fair considering how much they pay people in Mexico and China) 2. LAN members that got early information or review copies are sending pictures and descriptions to their friends that send it to their friends and it ends up going through 100s of people (super often nowadays) 3. Stores get early codes and code names to put into system, some even get the early catalogues/pictures and then their workers leak it 4. Predicting the set reveals by checking digital instructions site All of these information ends up going to a handful of instagram leakers that trade that information for attention/followers, some of them are great people that help us decide which sets to get and how much money to save and some get this false sense of importance and start pushing their agendas or attacking other people. Sometimes it also ends up being a game of broken phone where leaker assumes stuff and releases it on all bells just for it to be a lie. They get a code for ideas set for $150 assume it's a Home Alone set and ruin Christmas for ton of people. Or get the information that 3 dark troopers are coming in a set and make up a story that it's a battle pack. Get the info that orange clone is in Grievous Starfighter, literally lie that it's Cody and get thousands of people so disappointed that they are screaming about it 2 years later. Oh he wasn't in the Grievous ship cause he is in a Gunship, oh he isn't in Gunship cause he is in the minifigure pack, oh he is not in a minifigure pack LEGO hates prequels and never gives us what we want...
  18. Agreed, it was super anti-consumer and greedy. I would kinda understand if vehicles were accurate or we got more figures, but they just kept making builds larger and larger so they can make it double the price and you are basically forced to buy it cause there are no good alternatives if you want to build a phase 2 clone army from the movies. There are also in a much bigger box than a normal battle pack would be so stores were getting smaller amount of them and some people had to wait for months to get one. I need to buy 3 x 501st sets for $90 to have a squad of 9 and i get 3 extra jet troopers for a different army project so even throwing the builds in the trash (what i have been doing) is cheaper than buying 9x 212th troopers for $15 each cheapest for $135 plus shipping from bricklink. That's why i am buying it and that's why lot of other people are buying it, it's not cause it's consumer friendly. If LEGO made a phase 2 Rex polybag with a stand and nothing else for $40 ofc people will go and buy it in record numbers, doesn't mean it's consumer friendly or that LEGO isn't taking advantage of us, it only means it's a cheaper way to get it than buying 1 used one for $140 of bricklink. (cheapest in USA without damage and with pauldron).
  19. I am so split on this new information. I am glad we are getting the phase one versions of Rex and Cody, but at the same time i am disappointed cause most of us wanted phase two versions of them for a LONG time. I also only have 2 plain phase 1 clones so this not being an army builder is even a bigger let down. My 501st army is missing phase 2 captain Rex, but i am getting a phase 1 captain Rex that i have no army for.
  20. What do you mean by missing ranks? Phase 1 clones are probably the only army that has every rank for army building and you don't have to play pretend. Squad of 9 is led by a sergeant- We got sergeant in a battle pack with droidekas 75000 4 of those squads are called a platoon and they are led by lieutenant which came out in a polybag and in a 75085 set 4 of those platoons led by a captain are called a company and this is where you can choose phase 1 captain Rex or a clone trooper captain from 75021 gunship set 4 of those companies led by a major and a clone commander are called a battallion and there are ton of phase 1 commanders from Fox, Cody, Gree, Wolffe, black kama version from the 8014 BP, yellow commander from AT-TE 75019 to the one from the UCS gunship. We have everything covered with phase 1 clones from a squad army building of 9 to a battallion of 662 and 99.99% (estimation and not a real calculation) of collectors won't even go past that mark with army building and even then not a lot of people care about accuracy and they just place all the clones they have on a baseplate and call it an army which is okay you can enjoy and build your army however you want.

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

This week i ordered 8 first order trooper polybags for my first order army which will pretty much be turned into a squad of 9 led by Phasma. I am also rewatching rebels so i ended up ordering a good amount of stormtroopers: few from death trooper BP, 5 from rebels BP and 1 new one. And finally i got a 2020 tie fighter which is a first OT set i bought since the battle of Endor back in 2009. If i end up liking the new stormtrooper helmets i will get 2 imperial marauders and imperial dropship BP with Han to make a squad of 9 if not i will just buy old helmets and replace the 2 new ones, but won't get marauders or the 2019 BP. Eyeing a ton of other stuff especially for army building now that we know we will get phase 1 minifigure packs from the old phase 1 Lieutenant to lead my platoon to 4 old phase 1 sergeants to lead my squads. Also need to figure out who will lead my snowtrooper squad after i buy 3 new snowtrooper BP, will probably need to buy Veers. Lot of fun projects for January.
  22. No need, commander doubles as a pilot.
  23. Glad at least something prequel is there to buy next year, not the biggest fan of it being LEGO exclusive though cause they have stupid limits and clown prices compared to retailers. I am really worried about the meaning of "armored clone" as well. Are they going to be for army building like 3x bland phase 1s? Or will they have some markings on them and different torsos or be named clones that will be horrible to army build? If they are all the same $45 for a squad of 9 sounds pretty great, $180 for a platoon even better. If that's the case I don't have to buy a single phase 1 clone for the rest of my life after that.
  24. I think half of the people don't even know what to the moon is and they will be blamed for every figure price increase and scalping issue despite raising prices on only 2 figures Bail Organa and Thrawn.
