They are "correcting" it. The reference to 77014 will be removed (it already has been removed in the 77015) :(

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I assumed the leakers were right and the set was gone, but the statement and the descriptions gave me hope. I think that if the set was completely cancelled they wouldn't have released the statement. That, or just them being incompetent lol

I'm LAN people and that didn't happen. They just gave us the official statement that everyone has shared.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Why is everyone assuming that the ToD set is cancelled? The official statement just says that they decided to "optimize the launch" to focus on the three sets we know. They don't imply that there won't be more sets. Add to that the fact that the 77014 appears in the official description, and they didn't bother to remove that after releasing the statement.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

The pictures were photos of a screen showing the boxes and the Temple Escape diorama. They weren't photos taken directly of the boxes or the Temple Escape set. My theory is that LEGO showed a video about the Indiana Jones theme in the Toy fair and someone took photos of the screen.

I think it's the moustache, it look's dark grey. He looks like Sean Connery in The Rock.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

But not D2C sets like these are usually revealed on the first the month, no? They even revealed the new Speed Champions on January 1st at midnight. Avatar sets were revealed on July 20th but that was months before release.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Pure speculation, but if the sets don't show up today (in the next 2 hours or so), then there must be something wrong with this theme. The Super Star Destroyer being revealed a few hours ago really made me worry about the Indy theme.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Actually, no. Only Hasbro and Funko as toy companies: https://www.sknr.net/2023/01/16/confirmed-licensee-categories-for-indiana-jones-and-the-dial-of-destiny/ About the pompous announcements, Avatar also had one. A couple of months before release (July 20th). This is why all the Indy stuff feels so weird. Avatar and Indy are very similar themes to some extend (Disney franchises, first wave of four sets and a second wave for teh new movie, etc), so I can't see why Indy is being announced so late and so close to the release date (impliying it will be released and everything leaked is real ).

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

THIS I tried to know what's happening with the Temple of Doom set through the Lego Ambassador Network and it's impossible, at least until the day they reveal the sets. And I'm not expecting that we will hear anything about that set after the reveal because, usually, if it hasn't been officially announced, it doesn't exist.

100% sure it is 8 studs wide.

Is that the source of all of this? That the set isn't in the retail listings?

So just like the Osprey or the TNT City set. This is not the first time something like this happens (if it has been cancelled and the guidelines are the reason). I can't understand why they cancel sets so late (literally week before release).

You laugh, but a set with the fertility idol, the crystal skull, the journal from TLC and maybe a hat would be one of the few (probably the only one) object/sculpture sets I'd buy.

The Ford Explorer uses 238 bricks. I can see the Jeep being a 150 pieces build (no roof and shorter).

Thank you! Yes, the ball I made doesn't roll at all, but I did it on purpose. I used the technic ball at first but I couldn't place it the way I wanted. Same. I love KotCS. I would love any set of the first half of the movie (Area 51/University chase). What are the chances of one of the other four sets being a KotCS set? We are getting three "regular" sets in the first wave and the diorama. Maybe the second wave is three Dial of Destiny sets and a KotCS set.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I forgot to say it, the 7623 is like 75 studs long.
  22. hachiroku

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

7623 is very big. I think it's easy to make a temple with that piece count, not missing any of the room (entrance, skeleton and ball corridor, the well room and the treasure room) and it being smaller that the 7623. 24 studs for the first sections, 10 for the second one and maybe 20 or 24 for the treasure room. The JP diorama is 48 studs, and the temple should be narrower.

    Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I wonder if this could mean that the 150€$ set has been cancelled, if it's a KotCS set. I think it's weird that there is no description about that one (maybe it's a D2C set?)

Maybe they delay it because the Eiffel tower announcement? I think they announced a few months ago a D2C set and also regular sets on the same day.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

IMO, the reason why people want an Anniversary subtheme or sets is just that they (we) want more sets from Phases 1-2-3. People are just using the Anniversary thing because it would have made sense, similar to what happens with Star Wars with people expecting Episode II sets last year or Episode VI this one. Just like with the Star Wars theme, we have reached the point were fans prefer to revisit things rather than getting stuff from the new media. About the Infinity Saga sets this year, that's another problem. 2021 was great because all of the sets were minifig scale, but this year, except the new Iron Hall (which is kind of dissapointing if it's supposed to be an Iron Man 2 set, no Mark IV or VI) and one Juniors sets (the Black Panther one), all of them has been display pieces (Gauntlet, Mjölnir, Groot, BP bust, Hulkbuster....). And I still can't understand why Lego focuses so much on that kind of sets. I've taked about that with a lot of people, Lego fans and no Lego fans, and nobody prefers display sets over minifig scale sets. Maybe Lego has their data and most of the people prefer big display stuff, but my experience is completely the opposite. PD: And I'm saying this as someone who has a Lego Ideas set approved which isn't in minifig scale
