42177 Mercedes G500 4X4
RussianGuy replied to SNIPE's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So, the "gross error" is that TLG didn't anticipate you using shitty parts instead of LEGO? :) -
Did you build B-models when sets had those?
RussianGuy replied to howitzer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think I have only skipped a couple of B models, Quad bike 9392 and Arocs. They're usually good fun, and the Mack garbage truck was the tipping point of me buying the set. -
42146 Dragline Liebherr HS 8300 - B-model alternate build
RussianGuy replied to Timorzelorzworz's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Look at the video at about 3:10. Sure, it's probably not as spectacular as the real thing but it looks pretty much free falling to me, so the spirit of the original machine is captured :) And the Eurobricks review I linked discuses how it is done. -
42146 Dragline Liebherr HS 8300 - B-model alternate build
RussianGuy replied to Timorzelorzworz's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Sure, it can be found on his website www.designer-han.com/lego There's a video there as well, and he sells instructions here It used to be listed on Rebrickable as MOC-2542 but now it's disabled for some reason. It was discussed on Eurobricks too. -

Not all of them! Designer Han tried to implement free-falling bucket. -
Technic General Discussion
RussianGuy replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As many others in the thread, I stopped following Sariel's reviews some time ago. He talks for ages about cars, something I have zero passion for. It's really not very interesting which vehicle or motorcycle Lego should have made instead and how the one Lego has made is not so precise in his opinion. Generally perfect realism is not something I expect in Lego, so it is rather dull to listen to a 15 minutes pedantic breakdown of imperfections. If we are talking about popular bloggers, for me Jason Allemann is much closer to the spirit of Lego compared to Sariel. -

Not very relevant but this translation gives wrong impression. The full phrase is translated as "Russian warship, go megabluck yourself", a motto commonly used now as an anti-war and pro-Ukrainian statement. And the way it is cut in the video "idi na c[huj]" is impossible to misinterpret. -
General Part Discussion
RussianGuy replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The way I understand it, these part numbers used by Rebrickable, Bricklink and other platforms are assigned by the community but for the newer parts they generally coincide with the LEGO-provided "Design Numbers" which can be fetched from the Bricks&Pieces page For your convenience I copied them for the 42128 set PNEUMATIC TUBE 160MM Element 6352200 Design Number 37574 PNEUMATIC TUBE, 304 MM Element 6352206 Design Number 79307 PNEUMATIC TUBE 224MM Element 6351907 Design Number 21825 PNEUMATIC TUBE, 128 MM Element 6352209 Design Number 79308 PNEUMATIC TUBE, 304 MM Element 6352208 Design Number 79307 PNEUMATIC TUBE 224MM Element 6351910 Design Number 21825 PNEUMATIC TUBE 32MM Element 6247177 Design Number 26445 PNEUMATIC TUBE 64MM Element 6119454 Design Number 21837 PNEUMATIC TUBE 184MM Element 6150192 Design Number 26436- 4859 replies

General Part Discussion
RussianGuy replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I am positive it is real Lego. It comes from 42100 which I bought recently. And it has LEGO marking, unlike the old one, which doesn't have any.- 4859 replies

Did anyone manage to order and then receive 42113-specific parts from B&P? Now they are not visible on the site. I also received a refund to my card which I used to order them on 16th of August (but no email about my order being cancelled, so maybe they are going to charge me again later)- 4859 replies

[Buying Help] 42055 or 42082?
RussianGuy replied to Magical Duck's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would recommend 42055 much, much more. It's interesting to watch, the whole machine and it's functions are truly novel -

Exact ratio with denominator 11 is impossible with classical meshing gears (as no Technic gear teeth number is divisible by 11), so you can look into differential-based system -
42114 - 6x6 Volvo Articulated Hauler
RussianGuy replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I was referring to the same place. Here you can see an end of a transverse axle which is, I think, not tan but yellow. Therefore it is not a single continuous transverse axle (so no new axle color and no new gear needed). I can be wrong though -
42114 - 6x6 Volvo Articulated Hauler
RussianGuy replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The axle on the left side of the vehicle is clearly yellow so it is not a continuation of the tan axle you're speaking about -

So in terms of parts it has, in addition to all-new panels and rotor blade, both new and old CV joint and 3 DBG 11x15 frames, a HUGE number of lime recolors, including pins and connectors https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=22961 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=15100 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=18654 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=32034 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=63869 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=60483 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6538c https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=32054 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=87082 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=x136 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=18944 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64680 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=24116 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=15458 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64392 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=x346 Lime is life, lime is love And also an interesing use of 4L bar in bright green (?) to strengthen 6628 pin connection -
