    Nice, back to the future!

Are you planning to make a video and did you consider to recreate the turquoise interior?

Probably not a video I only have a phone and no tripod so I cant demonstrate the functions and record art the same time but I may think about it.

I don't have any other turquoise parts and I'm not sure there are any equivalent parts to do a modern version but they are stud less. Also if you insist on all modern parts then the wheels and air tanks can't be used.

@Timorzelorzworz, you may find the link below somehow helping. I read it some time ago and it did the job!

    https://www.brickbanter.com/post/flexible-parts-bricklink-studio-tutorial

    @Timorzelorzworz

Stud.io doesn't have pneumatic tubes as a part and they are not part of the flex system. (If they built stud.io around the harder Technic parts they would be saving themselves a lot of grief in the future bat that's a different rant.)

The flexible hoses are for the smaller hard tubes so the diameter is smaller.

when I was making my version of the 8868 i used LDCad for the tubes and then import them into Stud.io via the  part designer tool.

I used Thus Guide to create the tubes. Its quite a time consuming process and even importing the parts has a trick to it to get them to have the right orientation.

  4. I'm no expert on air tanks but I would assume if it was an air tank it would be cylindrical for uniform pressure within the vessel? and comparing it to the old tank that wouldn't have much volume which would create more pressure than storage?

In general I don't think we will see another air tank as with out a pressure regulator I have been rebuilding the 8462 and I found that while the air tank does store more air to use the functions the first few uses after its at pressure are so fast that its hard to control.

Great set idea. What wheels are you going to use?

I own the original so was going to use those as this if for the completion. However, normally i try to build these with parts that a current or highly available but I don't think there is anything close the only other silver rims I can think of are the 8448 super street but there just as old.

Maybe it's not an alternating beam but a 5x7 frame in black

Its not a frame if you look at the brick link image it is  smooth around the sides and that pattern can only be seen on the top and as its flush with the orange panel it cant be a frame.

I am doubtful. Unbrickme in a video said he saw a wire in it but he pointed to a pin hole on one of the seats. Would be nice but I don't see PU advertised anywhere. But I am interested to know what the grey box in the fuel tank is. Could it be an air tank?

Yes probably wishful thinking or maybe like the Volvo 42053 they will included a compressor so you can motorise yourself. seems to be plenty of space to put one in.

  8. Seeing as my 8868 Air Claw cant be entered I'm going for the next one the often overlooked 8462 now having rebuilt it there are a lot of cool little features i never noticed when I first got it. Like the auto centring tailgate.

I'll post some progress pics in a bit (supposed to be at work now

My plan is to try and keep i as good a match as possible to the original so sticking with the even width winch is making the turntable a bit of a challenge.

  9. I think I have an Idea which one I'll have a go at as it just needs to be stud-less not my normal make it with only the latest parts so that might make it a bit simpler as I can reuse some of the original parts that are stud-less.

As were not allowed CG entries needs to be one I have the colours for as I don't enough yellow to have a go at 8862.

but I'm super slow so i hope that 2 months will be enough time for me.

Thank god someone has added a gearbox, flappy paddles and a DNR shifter.

I was going to add @Anto's 6 speed+N+R gearbox and paddles (so no DNR shifter) like the real car but I might just leave it since there's this and I have a load of MOCs and one set to finish building and to MOD some of them.

Can you give me a link to that gearbox? I have not seen that one and I'm trying to improve my understanding of Lego gear boxes thanks.

Also there is a reverse selector in the centre on the 488 GTB wich is what I'll mod this into.

  11. A quick and bad photo of the chassis with a 4speed gearbox sequential shifter and DNR selector.

    320x180.jpg

A few compromises have to be made to get it all to fit i modified the transmission from the Land Rover (i'm no good at gearbox ratios ) but i think it works.

I have not had to change to much so with a bit of tweaking (see the air intake) it should still fit with the original body work but i also plan to do a custom body GTB as I'm no sticker fan. Also so it fits with my Enzo and 599 GTB

The area around the DNR still needs work but I'll build up to the dash board and see if i can blend it in better.

I have also tried to change the ride height but I'll see what that's like when i add the body work.
