I am readying my troops at this very moment. I will attack from the sea.

Darn. There are still none of the new sets in Hobart (Tasmania) yet. I was forced to buy the AquaBase instead last week. Poor me...

I inherited a few semi-complete Paradisa sets from a friend. I think they were a excellent line, but at the time I wasn't buying any Lego. The catalogs always had great displays with them too.

Excellent work. Makes me jealous though - I still haven't got any short legs yet. Perhaps its time for another Bricklink order...

It is an excellent issue, especially the features on Market Street, even though it is saddened by the news. (I don't know the details of his illness so I will make no further comment on his death.) On a positive note, I am very excited about the new RC power control system that will be in the Bulldozer, Ferris Wheel and the Godzilla. I am still a bit unclear about how the new connectors work, but I am glad to hear that they are compatible with the old motors. September On!

Lately I have noticed some odd flaws at shop.lego.com. For example; 1. Yesterday the MTT was frontpaged with the new Harry Potter castle, but when I clicked on it all that was shown was an error page. It was changed a few hours later. 2. When the Death Star was half price is went from "Sale" to "Sold" to removed to "Sale" and then back to normal. 3. When I bought something that was on sale I missed out on buying it as it sold out, even though it wasn't marked as "call us" until two days after I bought it. (They did apoligise for this and happily changed my order when I complained; they even upgraded my shipping.) 4. The MTT appeared on the site for many countries a few weeks ago and then vanished the next day, and to the best of my knowledge it still isn't avalible on the site for any countries. Does anyone know why this happens, and why it seems (to me) to be common? Do you think they are just trying to tease me? (I really am looking forward to the MTT!)

What is the deal with shop.lego.com?

My apoligies. I thought that this was the correct section for a discussion on the Lego site. -

That never occured to me, and I have never noticed any price change myself. I hope that the MTT doesn't go any higher as $180 AUD is high enough. Have you ever noticed a set go lower? Yes, I noticed that but forgot to mention it. Thanks for your thoughts and comments! I hope so. I am in Australia (sitting on a chair) and the last new sets that I have seen here were the Aqua Raiders and new Creator sets. I am still waiting for the new City sets. -
I would (and will) go for the MX-71 Recon Dropship #: 7692. Why? I really don't like those tracks. They are always too stiff. (I have the escavator and the Exo-Force tank.) It also has one of those annoying disc launchers. The only part not in 7692 and is in 7697 that I find especially compelling is the cockpit. I recomend downloading the instructions from here... http://www.br-eng.info/words/?page_id=29 That always helps me.

Hitomi. I don't like that set, but I want it now because of her.

While I agree with the attitude, I can't say that I think this argument will persuade many. For one, simply look at the comments on the Break.com. But also, the argument of "The oil and coal will run out one day so we need to look now for other solutions", which is completly un-debatable, fails to persuade people that new solutions are needed. Too many people think "This will happen in 100 years or more, if ever, so who cares?", or worse still mention the G word. (That is god.) Until people are sure that this will affect them persanally and soon, nothing will change.

It is available now! http://shop.lego.com/Product/Default.aspx?p=10190 $130 AUD, 90 Euro, but it doesn't seem to be available in the US yet. It has a better piece/price ratio in AUD than Cafe Corner. I might even buy this one...

Unlikely. As I am sure you know Australia and New Zealand gets the shortest end of the stick. (Just look at the price we have to pay for the Sandcrawler and the Falcon.)

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Siegfried replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think that $500 would be a good start, but to be honest, if I made something that large I wouldn't sell it for $1000, irregardless of the price to replace the bricks. Those MOCs would have around 2000 pieces in them. Additionally, they may already have been recycled... Why can't you just make one youself using Bricklink?- 502 replies

Wow! That is a huge co-incidence! I posted a link to my... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=233522 ...version of that hull and you post a much better one the same day. I was considering adding an extra section and building the whold ship up another deck, but haven't as I more wanted a minimum change version. I especially love the decking, but I think the back is a bit much. (Bit rich from me considering I cheated and used the one that came with the set!)

Would you like electric lighting in your Town sets?
Siegfried replied to JINZONINGEN73's topic in LEGO Town
I tend to think as a separate set however. Using LEDs would nice as well. -
No exciting reason. Early in Recruit School for the Royal Australia Navy I stuffed up and saluted the OIC (Officer In Charge, i.e. The Boss) with my left hand. (For non military types this is wrong.) He shouted at me, "You Sinner!" before going off on some silly tirade about the history of saluting. This would have all been annoying as it was, but to make it worse the whole of Recruit School was there in formation. (About 500 people.) Thus I was/am called Sinner and I tend to use it more often than not as a screen name. Thanks for looking at my 7075 rebuild. Unsurprisingly, it doesn't float anymore...

4 or 6 stud wide cars, which do you prefer ???
Siegfried replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Town
Six wide cars would be an improvement; one person per car, while cute, is silly. Trucks should be six wide for light commercials, and 8 for larger trucks. (Even so, I am considering 6-wideing my 7900 as it is the odd-truck-out, but I could solve that by buying 7998...) I think trains should also be 8 wide, but that does introduce the problem of having enough room around corners. On the other hand, I have the 7893 passenger plane and I really don't know what to do with it; making an airport scene based around it took too much room so it is now shelved. Turning it into my first 8-wide train is an option... Lego does need to make some decisions on scale. They still are selling 4-wide cars (like the one in the service station) and compared to the current motor bike it does look odd. New road plates will help. Perhaps the next road plates should have only half a road? -
I didn't know that they were exclusive to TRU. In Australia (where I am from) they were exclusive to K-Mart and I ended up buying all of the first batch. (I didn't buy any of the second as they were too similar to the first.) Were they exclusive to one shop in every country? Perhaps the whole point was to test the idea of an exclusive line.... I will give it some thought. I always thought that they needed some villages to pilliage, but I don't think Lego would go for that!

7018 Viking Ship. While I modified mine to have four extra rowers (the big catapult had to go!) I stilll think that even un-modified it is great. It is one of my favourite boxes in recent time (I would love a poster of the serpent lying in wait on the back), and the serpent (aside from the red-horns that don't stay in) is a great addition. Even so, I tend to see it as a pirate ship anyway, just from a different time. Afterall, all the space sets are seen as space even though they vary in the details.

Golden Tower and Aero Booster available at Lego Shop Bluewater
Siegfried replied to Hayatoson's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks for the review, especially the box shot that shows the female Exo-Force figure. In regard to Aero Booster, that red piece at the end of the gun wouldn't happen to be a technic driving ring would it? http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=1001b...=7893030&rID=-2 ...or... http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/6539 I hope so; it could mean a geared car is coming! (Or it could just be leftover from the crane, but I have high hopes!) (Bad first post I know.)
