I am aiming to be there for a day or two, not sure which yet. D

I have been keeping my eyes open for one of these too and can't believe that I just missed one on Ebay that went for £83, that is about £50 cheaper than they are going on Bricklink! D

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
Dazmundo replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I just don't understand your problem. You are buying Lego that you won't mix with your other Lego 'incase' it gets damaged! This just sounds like unfounded paranoia to me. I would imagine if it didn't say 'Made in China' on the pack, in most cases, you wouldn't have a clue. There are always going to be slight inconsistancies with any manufacturing process and a relatively new plant, compared to the original factory, like China, producing relatively short runs is bound to have slightly more inconsistancies than the standard 2x4 bricks that have been being produced since before alot of people on here were born. Lighten up, if there is no noticable problems with the parts you have just start using them, then if issues do arrise you will have something to actually moan about! D -
Hi all I have just recieved a pic from someone selling a 'Lego' train set and this is the pic I am certain that it's not Lego but she claims it is. Am I wrong?? Cheers D

That's what I thought, I just thought I'd check though I didn't want someone to come out in a few weeks time saying they had found this very rare set that is worth loads and this is it! D

Hi I need some advice I am planning a Christmas Layout for under my tree, I've bought Winter Village Toy Shop and am planning on getting Winter Village Bakery but I want to add a train going round the tree. I already own 4708 Hogwarts Express but other than that my only train stuff is from the 70's so blue track and 4.5V motors. Can someone give me some advice as to what is the best way to go about getting a running train. I have modded my Hogwarts Express so that it fits a 4.5V motor but It now has to pull the battery car and I'm not keen on that, has anyone else done anything with this train? Suggestions welcome, can I get away with my current kit or do I have to buy a whole load of new kit? Cheers Darren

I'm sure I read somthing about there being a Winter Village Post Office later this year so I can't see them doing a Modular Post Office too. D

I am heading down to Legoland Windsor tomorrow with my family. My daughter is only 15months but I'm sure she will enjoy looking at the models. The other kids we are taking love the rides, it'll be their 3rd visit in 2 weeks! Is there anything I should look out for, maybe things only those 'in the know' would see (such as the Simpsons watching the changing of the guards)? Anyone know if they have any particularly good deals on in the shops or if they have any exclusive sets? Getting quite excited , We are getting annual passes so this will not be my only visit this year! D

Advice needed: Powering 4708 Hogwarts Express
Dazmundo replied to Dazmundo's topic in LEGO Train Tech
The motor is 3 bricks high and the top and bottom levels are 8 studs long, with a set of wheels at each end, with the middle level 12 studs long. The Batteries are in the black carriage behind the engine and the whole carriage is the battery holder so there is no space for the motor there. Are there smaller motors that are battery opperated? Hi thanks for the comment. It's not actually a MOC it's just a small MOD of 4708 Hogwarts Express D -
Advice needed: Powering 4708 Hogwarts Express
Dazmundo replied to Dazmundo's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Hi Dan cheers for the reply. So first off I hadn't got as far as I thought I had, Who'd have thought that all the track between platform 9.75 and Hogwarts was perfectly straight???? Come on the original train and carriages didn't go round corners so my MOD version deffinately didn't. This was what my version did look like, You can see here how the motor slots in, I thought it was a really easy fix So once I knew the it didn't do corners I started changing the carriages, just added a turntable and a couple of smooth tiles, which worked fine although it has lifted the carriage one tile higher but I can forgive myself that Then I needed to sort the engine. The only thing that seemed to work, keeping the wheels evenly spaced and so that they would go round corners was to go down to 4 axels instead of 6 and use these pivoting axels I'm just not totally happy with how it looks, there is too big a gap at the front and back So advice needed. Is there a better way of doing this? I like the battery opperation of the 4.5V system but is there something I can do that is not too expensive that will improve how this looks. Cheers Darren -
I voted brick built, basically because the only track I have is the old blue track with white 2x8 sleepers. It is a classic. D

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Dazmundo replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm with you there Cam, I was thinking 5 series would be a good number at least for the time being. I only buy 1 full set of each series but that means so far I have spent £128 with another £32 going to be spent on series 5. Looks like if I want to continue having the full set I've got atleast another £100 to spend! D -
Thought I would post some pics of my two recent visits. I didn't take loads of pics just tried to get some of things I throught people would like to see. Will & Kate outside the palace Changing of the guards (New version for this season, you can tell by the bright bricks) Look who is watching in the stands... Lego may not have the licence but that doesn't stop the Daleks invading London Don't worry Dr Who is here The NASA display has some new visitors too Last weekend they had a 'Where's Wally' competition running so even though it wasn't officially still running I kept my eyes open.. Watching changing of the guards With the Top Gear team At the shuttle launch They are in the process of building a hotel in the park so I thought I'd show you a couple of building shots Artisits impression D

Dazmundo replied to LEGO AFOL's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Try looking here Bricklink D -
I looked in Sainsburys in Harlow yesterday and there was no sign of the offer or any Minifigs! D
-
Heading to Legoland again tomorrow :) I will try to get some more pics (No battery or memory card in the camera last time - blame the wife) Meeting up with a couple of friends and their 2 young kids who have never been before so it should be fun :) D

In the Uk it includes everything appart from the exclusive sets such as Grand Emporium (10***) D

Just bought 10199 Winter Village Toy Shop MISB for £39.50 inc postage which I didn't think was too bad. Oh and a spiral staircase from a Harry Potter set from ebay for my first ever real MOC that I started on Friday. D
-
Oh yeah I wouldn't go especially for the shop but if you are in Legoland it is worth a visit just to see what they have. When I was there a few weeks ago they had some pretty big sets, probably because they have been shut since November they will have last seasons stock to clear! D
-
Oh just remembered The Racers Store is where they sell any discounted Lego they have so is worth a visit! D
-
I would say realistically you need a whole day, otherwise you would be rushing round if you had more plans for later in the day. As far as what there is to look at other than rides it depends greatly on what you want to actually see.. 1. Miniland (Obviously) 2. Creation Centre (Bit like a gallery they have the crown jewels and lots of portraits etc.) 3. Fairy Tale Brook (Gentle boat ride with models of farytales to look at) 4. Dino Safari (Similar to Fairy Tale Brook but in a car looking at Dinosaurs) 5. Orient Expedition (Similar again but on a Train looking at Safari Animals) There are other things too, and just walking round there is lots to look at. Hope that helps D

Would you or have you ever painted bricks?
Dazmundo replied to Hrw-Amen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I was at Legoland Windsor a couple of weeks ago, and I'm sure I saw what looked like painted bricks in Miniland! Next time I'm there I'll try to get a better look and some pics D -
Any reason for Pick-A-Brick online over Bricklink?
Dazmundo replied to Iysk's topic in General LEGO Discussion
They are two different shades of green. D
