    LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion

Now that we know from yesterday's trailer that TotK has vehicles in it, clearly Lego's interest in making a zelda theme has shot up 500% since they can fill it with vehicles. But seriously, I do feel that a set like this (https://brickset.com/sets/80030-1/Monkie-Kid-s-Staff-Creations) for this game would be a fun way of interpreting what the mechanic seems to be. Also, for everyone that was expecting the Deku tree yesterday, has Nintendo ever shown off a piece of merch in a direct? Or even revealed some on the same day? All the mario set reveals have happened independently of any Nintendo news as far as I remember, and I don't really see that changing now. I also get why we could expect to see the set relatively soon (good timing + one of the most finalized sets from that leak) but it seems to me to be overly optimistic to expect that. Eh, Who knows.

    Blender - LDD Plugin

I also encountered this error, and I figured out it actually has to do with the piece itself rather than the plugin. I ended up using the LDD part modifier to get a file of just the geometry, and put it into blender to find out the faces weren't actually attached to one another. Spent a while unifying all the vertices, but I managed to create a version that works. Sadly, the file is too large to attach here, but hopefully my description is good enough to help you figure it out.

    Lego Dreamzzz 2023

This seems very likely to be related to that Dreamzzz trademark we saw earlier this year (last day I can say that) 10 sets is quite a few, so it's clearly going to get a big push from LEGO. Also glad to see those 3 smaller sets, this won't be another monkie kid situation where it takes us 3 years to get a $20 set.

    Custom LDD bricks and fixes

Downloaded the update and I had a few issues... Neither 68327, 2391, nor 81911 seem to work, since I can't find them in the parts library and were removed when I opened the new parts lxf. I also noticed part 64799 has a rendering issue. The outside edge is entirely gone. However, there are some parts here that I'm glad to see added! Especially 35635, that part is super useful but hasn't been in any Lego digital program I've used until now!

Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion

The other sets also have leaked part counts (from brick_clicker in Instagram) 76991: 367 parts ($39.99) 76992: 388 parts ($49.99) 76993: 615 parts ($59.99) 76994: 802 parts ($99.99) The launcher 'gimmick' seems interesting, and I'm glad they're minifig scale too. Sure, I like the mario sets, but minifigs are classic for a reason. It'll be nice for more sonic characters to get minifigs and hopefully a better eggman too. All I would really be interested in is a large model of the death egg robot or something similar. Hopefully in 76993 or 76994, but we'll see.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2022

If you can't find it, then it probably didn't happen. It would be extremely silly for Lego to revamp bigfigs with last year's Thanos and then immediately abandon them 6 months later. As for Sandy, I suspect they changed him to a minifig so they could easily give him new outfits (This year's space suit, next year's outfit in the headquarters) but also so he could fit inside vehicles (The van). Where I don't see bigfigs going away is for licensed themes. You can't have Hulk and Thanos be the same size as everyone else, and characters of this size aren't going to disappear from these films anytime soon (https://brickset.com/sets/76237-1/Sanctuary-II-Endgame-Battle is an exception to have him fit the ship, https://brickset.com/sets/76192-1/Avengers-Endgame-Final-Battle came out around the same time so also not proof they abandoned the bigfig) However, your statement isn't baseless. We haven't seen a bigfig this entire year, and so far no sets next year include one, so it does seem to be the case they got rid of them. Then again, it's also true that, other than Sandy, no characters that are usually bigfigs have been included in any sets, other than Hulk and Rhino in https://brickset.com/sets/10782-1/Hulk-vs-Rhino-Truck-Showdown, but the full size legs made them look larger compared to everyone else's mid size legs, so a bigfig wasn't necessary. I will admit, it is possible that Lego is reworking how they approach these kinds of characters, like how they how the 6 stud shooter was not used this year at all, but shows up in 2023 sets with a new redesign (take a look at the box of https://brickset.com/sets/80043-1/Yellow-Tusk-Elephant, the trigger is new and the base is slightly modified). Maybe this summer we'll see an Infinity saga set with a redesigned Hulk bigfig? But completely discarding these larger scale figures just doesn't seem feasible for these other licensed theme, even if it is possible for this theme.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

These new mechs are such a downgrade from the past ones. Knee, elbow, and wrist articulation has all been removed, which ruins so much of the appeal these mechs had for me as mini brick built action figures. Now, with this design, I don't care to get any more of them, which sucks because I actually do like the bike build, but it's Too much effort to redesign the entire mech to fit the old style. Oh well. As for the other sets, miles vs morbius has an alright build, but it's another spidey vehicle so it's hard for me to care. It's cheap enough that I can justify getting it for the minifig alone. The hulkbuster looks good, but seems super overpriced for the size, so I'm good. The quinjet is very nice, interesting that kept the color scheme mostly gray, but I'm still happy with the endgame one, so I'll probably pass. I'm still waiting on the quantumania set, but at this rate I'll only get the morbius set. Welp, that's less money I'm spending in January.

    LEGO Ninjago 2022

Having full pics, a few things have changed for me. The mech rider looks a little better, but still seems to tall for me to not look goofy. Cole's dragon looks so much worse than it did from the box, the super low front shoulders and the side profile of the body just don't look good. It's such as shame, because everything else about it looks great. Nya's dragon,on the other hand, is fantastic, easily the best EVO dragon we've gotten. The neck shaping is really simple but very nice, especially with the curvy look implied by the tiles used on the sides. Also happens to include the 2 Core suits I'm missing, so I'm honestly really considering it.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Kind of forgot about that, but I meant more so of the rest of the reveals. Last year, the marvel mechs were revealed before starwars, ninjago, or even city, but in 2021, Harry Potter and Mario were the first themes revealed in mid-November, so I think expecting Marvel specifically to come before everything else that's left isn't the best expectation. I'm hoping the ninjago mech raider isn't a sign of what the Ghost Rider set will look like. The strange proportions are fine for ninjago, but I feel like that tall bike would look ridiculous for Ghost Rider. Then again, most people here think the idea in and of itself is ridiculous, so maybe I shouldn't expect something reasonable from a crazy idea. edit: and now it seems the rest of the friends sets are next to be revealed, based on them being listed in the instructions portal on Lego.com. It still could be this week, but none of this seems to be very predictable.

    LEGO Ninjago 2022

There are 3 'gimmick' sets that promobricks lists for January, and they happen to be for the three ninja that didn't get spinner sets last year, so I think you might be disappointed. As for the sets themselves, I'm pleasantly surprised by quite a few of these! Kai's car and Jay's jet are the only ones that I don't really care for at all, but they don't even look bad. The mech duel looks pretty good, I like the bulk on the lloyd mech that gives it greater visual presence, and the villain mech is pretty cool too, with the large dish conical hat adding a lot of character. Cole's dragon is easily the best EVO dragon yet, since it thankfully drops the EVO limb pieces for the legs and seems much more filled out than the prior two. Also all the spikes and barbs make this dragon feel more unique compared to the others. The mech rider has much different proportions than I expected, with the bike being so tall, but I still find it interesting. I like the armoring on kai's mech, and the large sword staff also feels fitting for the vehicle-mech combo. Jay's titan mech is an absolute standout to me, I was expecting the usual style of mech but this design just feels so unique that I'm actually considering getting it now! I like the contrast between the thin and nimble frame and the large weapons, withe the shoulder cannon and giant sword. Also great to get what appears to be a pixel-bot, even if it's not round like in the show. It looks like the designers are more comfortable designing sets for the slightly younger age bracket now, but I also noticed that some of the EVO sets are 7+ rather than 6+, which may explain why they feel more detailed than this year's EVO sets. Also glad to see most sets use the bone weapon pack, so it isn't hard to get plenty of them. Overall, actually seeing these sets has me much more excited now!

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Nah I'm pretty sure November 15th last year was a Monday, and the marvel reveals were simply just the first official reveals of the 2022 January wave. I suspect Lego wanted to get all of 2022's sets revealed first before they move on to next year, so I'm guessing next week wil be the earliest we could see them. There's no chance Marvel will be first this year either, so it might be a longer wait than we expect.

    LEGO Ninjago 2022

I'm sad to see the mech is an alt build rather than a transformation, but the main dragon looks really good! I don't see why it needed 6 legs though, maybe the designers felt the need to do something different? There's also plenty of new parts we can see being used here, such as the large blades, but also the curved parts that cover the front shoulder joints, the bade of the horns, the upper jaw, and the lower jaw, which I suspect will be the upper jaw of cole's dragon. I wonder if the other sets will also have alternate builds? It would certainly explain why this set has one, since it doesn't seem super integral to the set itself. As for the villains, I think they look great! They definitely are more interesting than the snakes earlier this year, and the variety of troops reminds me of the ice samurais from 2019. which were some of my favorite villains aesthetically. I'm sad there isn't a villain set this wave, because it would have been awesome to see these guys get a large build of there own. I'm curious if these will be the first villains of the 'new' ninjago show next year, and maybe these 'core' sets will actually be the sets of that season? I could see that being the case.

    LEGO Ninjago 2022

A strange leak indeed, but I agree that the set looks pretty cool. I was brainstorming a mech-dragon transformer, and it seems someone else on the ninjago team had the same idea, although it's weird the set is called 'dragon creature' and has 6 legs, but maybe they're important for the transformation. I'm alo happy to see the same core suits, it means I have another chance to get all 6. *massive for 94 pieces. We'll See what promobricks' definition of massive is when the set is revealed I'm pretty sure this leak comes from a LAN member who accidentally filmed and uploaded an unboxing he shouldn't have, so I'm not sure if it really means a reveal is soon. How early does lego sense out review copies before the sets themselves are revealed? Ninjago sets have always been revealed later than others, so I'm not expecting much this week for this theme, but who knows!

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2022

I'm guessing the story involves time travel of some kind back to the original JTTW, with these weapons and "original" Tang being from that time. Maybe Monkey King too, since he has the binding band on his forehead in this set. As for the set itself, these images make it look beefier than it did on Saturday, and I' very surprised to see it has more pats than the warrior mech, but I still prefer the old one over this one. There's something about how ornate the warrior mech looks that made it so attractive to me, and this one just feels like another sci-fi mech, so in that sense it feels less unique. I do like how the jet combines to it though, especially the wings on the sides and the cannons on the shoulder. I like the idea of the wrist shield, but I feel like it'll get in the way of posing the set with the staff, since they'll just run into each other. The light-up eyes are cool, and the minifigs are fantastic, the villains especially. I'm glad this is one of the few themes to have most of its parts available on B&P, so I don't have to worry if one of these guys is completely exclusive to this set (though I doubt it). I'm interested to see what the rest of these are like, especially a villain based set, so hopefully the wait won't be too long.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm not a minifig collector by any means and that's exactly what I want! Depending on the full design in the film, I could totally see MODOK making for a decent $30 build. supposedly Kang's time chair is important to the film as well, so I could see that being included too. It's totally possible. I hope the NWH set isn't a D2C. It would probably be out of my budget if that were the case, and a very large statue of liberty doesn't exactly interest me either. I'm good with a larger playset for that scene.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Yes, but in the past few years, we haven't got any. The closest was the captain Marvel one, but that figure was made for the SDCC set, so it isn't exactly new either. I don't think Lego will go back to making polybags like that anytime soon.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

As I expected. If the 'movie prop' can't even fit all of tony in the torso, then why should the lego set? Also, given the legs on the set are completely static (from what I see). it might even be possible to place the lower legs in the upper legs like in the image you show there with a different design, but instead we get a misshapen torso for the sake of doing something the 'real thing' can't do either.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

This has me curious... with the actual size and proportions of the actual hulkbuster as seen in the film, can Iron Man actually fit inside? It might just be 'movie magic' (copious CGI) that makes it seem so, but it might not even be physically possible with the film design for a feasible model with correct proportions to be built that still fits the figure inside.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Thought this final set would be a vehicle for Namor :( But beyond that, I do actually kind of like it. The build looks larger than I thought it would be for less than 600 parts, and I do like the amount of deck space the ship has. The drones resembling the dragon flyers is rather clever, and the fact that they both fit on the ship is good. However, like others have noted, the lack of an interior is disappointing, as well as including namor as the only villain. The figure selection otherwise is good though, getting M’Baku is the definite highlight. As for the price, I’m not sure. Those comparing this to the goat boat aren’t accounting for the total volume of this build, which, even if it’s empty, still accounts for something. Even then, I think I’d have to see it in person to get a good feel for the true value of the build. Overall, I’m not as negative about it as the rest of you guys, and I might even consider getting it myself.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Given that action figures of the 3 spidermen release in august of next year, it seems that's the time in which Marvel is letting toy companies release spoiler products for NWH, so there's still a chance. I have no clue why they felt the need to leave so much time in-between, especially since promo for the re release is covered in 'spoiler' stuff, but that seems to be the timeline of things. Now, I also have to admit that spoiler marvel sets aren't that common, but if we base our expectations on the Infinity Saga wave after endgame, then mid to late 2023 sounds about right for when such a thing would release. I feel like it just has to happen eventually, especially with the infinity saga and revisiting old movies now being a thing. I guess it's all just a matter of time.... Has that ever been the case though? We've seen plenty of schedule shifting in terms of these films over the past 2 years, and the only hiccups have been Shang-Chi sets releasing early and the Eternals sets being included in that catalogue. I also think you're underestimating how far in advance sets are designed, it would not surprise me at all if by the time the change happened the set was already done. With all of this in mind, I don't see why a January or February release isn't possible.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

On top of that, 75256 is reportedly only $30, which doesn't seem big enough to include all 3 heroes alongside Kang and MODOK, so it seems someone is getting the short end of the stick...

Good point, the IW hulkbuster and Thanos do share a few scenes together. That would honestly be the only thing that would convince me to get the set.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I find it funny that the Morbius set seems like it'll be a mech set. It's 2 memes rolled into 1! But it is interesting that Lego seems to be doubling down on the mechs next year, so I guess they've been pretty succesful. I'm not super happy with the $5 increase, but hopefully, since 2 of the 3 characters are usually big figs, the mechs actually have more mass to them than usual. In that sense, Rocket is the odd one out, but if the mech is Groot, like some of you guys mentioned, then that would work out. The Ghost rider set also seems cool to me, since the title implies it's a bike for the mech (finally a bike that isn't oversized for the rider!) which really opens the door for more interesting mech sets in the future, rather than just more mechs and 2 packs. This would be a perfect scenario for that set! Otherwise, a $50 hulkbuster doesn't interest me much. The $100 quinjet is in a similar situation for me, I still have the 2019 one built, and I'm not sure how this one could be much better, so I'll probably pass. The only other set I'm interested in is the hypothetical antman 3 set, mostly to get MODOK in a cheaper set as well as (hopefully) kang. Not a bad wave overall, but I'm honestly most excited for the mechs this time around.

    Unpopular Opinions about LEGO

Topical hot take, I don't really mind the new instruction booklet covers. Sure, they look less appealing than the box art does, but I do see a point in making them consistent across all themes. Also, making the cover an image of the set with a plain background makes it easier to tell what it is you're building exactly. Besides, they are instructions, it's not like I'm going to display them or anything. I've heard people say it's "lazy", but if anything it's more work than before, since each cover includes a new render of the set rather than just the box art again. Speaking of the renders, I've heard people say they're "low quality", but it looks fine, just with plain lighting, which is understandable given the intention of giving a clear look at what the set is. As long as the D2C and ideas instructions remain at the same quality they are, I don't mind the rest of these changing, and I really don't get the fuss. I agree and disagree. I like the black boxes when it comes to large display items, like the globe or the Mario 64 question mark block. It makes sense to put the focus on the build itself as an appealing display piece. But for sets with minifigs, it sucks. Minifigs give the set life, but the black background takes it away. This also applies for any set that is a 'part' of something, like the modular buildings, since the black background removes the context of the set. Imagine the daily bugle having an NYC skyline behind it, or the sonic set having green hill zone in the background, it would make those sets feel alive! Instead, they both look kind of dead, which is absolutely not the intention of the set itself.

I'm guessing you mean the catalog leaks? In terms of those, I think we've got what we've got for this year. If you mean official images, I can't find any proof we had watermark-less images of seabound sets before may 1st (I checked Instagram news accounts to make sure). The only reason I bring all this up is to put our expectations into check. That way, we can spare ourselves unnecessary stress waiting for something before we should.
