[MOC] Imperial Cargo Shuttle Zeta-class SW 0608 "Rogue One"
lpglego posted a topic in LEGO Star Wars
There is no official LEGO set of this key spaceship (at least until today), so when I left the movie theater after watching the film, I decided to make my own version of the SW 0608 Zeta-class Shuttle "Rogue One" on a scale compatible with the use of minifigures. The model has two decks: the cabin and the cargo deck, connected with a ladder. The cabin can be opened to comfortably place four minifigures. The cargo deck has an orange container for freight (in the movie the imperial cargo shuttle was used to transport the Kyber crystals), which can be removed to leave the shipment at the destination. The cargo deck has two ramp doors, one in the front and one in the rear, to disembark materials and personnel. The four wings can be placed in flight position (tilted down and out) or fold in vertical position for take off and landing. In the flight mode the silhouette of the ship resembles a prehistoric sea reptile or a sea turtle, something that I find pretty cool. Update: improved model, new pictures Hi everybody and thank you for your comments. Based on your feedback, I made an improved version of the ship. Hope you like it: Remember that this project is also posted at LEGO Ideas https://ideas.lego.com/projects/162619 Pictures of the first version: Hope you liked the model Best Regards Luis- 30 replies

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I covered the foils in the improved model that I posted a few minutes ago. Also the wings are longer, and I did minor changes in the cockpit. Hope you like the modified model. Regards Luis- 30 replies

Apollo CSM, Lunar Module & Lunar Rover at Minifig Scale
lpglego posted a topic in Special LEGO Themes
The Apollo Program is a key part of the history of space exploration. The most famous missions were the Apollo 11 (first manned moonlanding) and Apollo 13 (that inspired the movie starring by Tom Hanks). This LEGO project includes: Apollo Spacecraft Command and Service Module (Apollo CSM). The model can be separated into its command module and the service module. The Command module has a hatch (that can be opened) and fits 3 astronauts inside (included). The CSM comes with a stand that fits the spacecraft. Lunar Module. This is the spacecraft used for the moon landing. It can be separated in the ascent module (upper part) and descent module (lower part). The ascent module can be opened and fits two astronauts. Lunar Roving Vehicle. It was an electric-powered vehicle designed to operate in the low gravity of the Moon, and allowed the Apollo astronauts to extend the range of their surface extravehicular explorations. The LRV was populary known as the "moon buggy". Three LRVs were driven in the Moon: in the Apollo 15 mission during 1971, and Apollo 16 and Apollo 17 during 1972. A naturalist´s Voyage Round the World. HMS Beagle LEGO model, vignett

Between 1831 and 1836, the survey ship HMS Beagle and its crew made an exploration trip around the world. This LEGO project consist in the LEGO model of the HMS Beagle (at minifig scale) and four vignettes with key moments of the voyage: Patagonia, Andes Mountains, Galapagos Islands and Tahiti. It features many minifigures, including Charles Darwin and Captain Fitzroy. You can find more pictures in my flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHsk4CCjHX This actual model is based on my LEGO Ideas project HMS Beagle, that reached the 10k supporters and now is in Review. I made the LEGO Ideas project with LDD, but also I built this real model and vignettes for displaying at my home. HMS Beagle Darwin in the tropical forest (Brazil)."The day has past delightfully. Delight itself, however is a weak term to express the feelings of a naturalist who, for the first time, has wandered by himself in a Brazilian forest. The elegance of the grasses, the novelty of the parasitical plants, the beauty of the flowers, the glossy Green of the foliage, but above all the general luxuriance of the vegetation, filled me with admiration." Charles Darwin, Journal of Researches Darwin exploring Pampas and Patagonia with a gaucho. "There is high enjoyment in the independence of the Gaucho life -to be able in any moment to pull up your horse, and say here we will pass the night". Charles Darwin, Journal of Researches Darwin exploring Tierra del Fuego. The Beagle channel was named after the HMS Beagle. Darwin crossing the Andes Mountains, guided by an "arriero". "The condors may oftentimes be seen at a great height, soaring over a certain spot in the most graceful circles. On some ocasions I am sure that they do this only for pleasure, but in others, the Chileno countryman tells you that they are watching a dying animal..." Charles Darwin, Journal of Researches. Darwin riding a tortoise in the Galapagos Islands. "I frequently got on their backs, and then giving a few raps on the hinder part of their shells, they would rise up and walk away- but I found it very difficult to keep my balance". Charles Darwin, Journal of Researches Darwin in Tahiti. "Numbers of children were playing in the beach, and had lighted bonfires which illumined the placid sea and surrounding trees; others, in circles, were singing tahitian verses. We seated ourselves on the sand, and joined the party". Charles Darwin, Journal of Researches. "Pine-apples are here so abundant that the people eat them in the same wasteful manner as we might turpins. They are of an excellent flavour". Charles Darwin, Journal of Researches. HMS Beagle. Forecastle detail HMS Beagle. Stern detail Robert Fitzroy, captain of the HMS Beagle HMS Beagle. Conrad Martens, ship´s artist Darwin and Syms Covington. Syms Covington was Darwin´s assistant. -

Hello: thank you for your comment. For the actual model I used mainly the available bricks on my collection, plus the cloth sails and sone animals (ostrich, penguin) that I bought specially for this project. So there are a few differences, but the brick count is substantially lower, the final HMS Beagle model is about 1k pieces. Also I redesigned all the vignettes. Kind regards -

Hello: thank you for your comment. The HMS Beagle LEGO Ideas project is mine! I used a LDD model for LEGO Ideas with more than 2K pieces. In the actual model, I replace the "brick sails" with cloth sails. It is a model that I built for displaying at my home. Kind regards -

It really is a great job, totally professional and beautiful result. Would love to have a replica, but I think, that for collectors as me, a model of 70 cm would be ideal. congratulations.
