FBTB reports abbilities of Fellowship members:

Frodo Baggins

A small and quiet Hobbit from Bag End, Frodo is entrusted to bring the One Ring to Mount Doom and destroy it forever. In spite of his noble spirit, he starts to feel the terrible powers of the One Ring and the danger of the fearsome creatures who hunt him. With the help of his friends in the Fellowship, Frodo must bravely carry this heavy burden to save Middle-earth.

In-Game Abilities: Phial of Galadriel to act as a light in dark places. Elven cloak that camouflages the wearer. Wields Sting. Possesses the One Ring which, when worn, accesses the Wraith-world of the Nazgῠl.

-

Samwise Gamgee (Sam)

Sam is Frodo’s gardener who loves poetry and his frying pan. With a brave heart and high spirits, he is chosen by Gandalf to accompany Frodo on his quest. Sam makes a promise not to lose his best friend, but evil powers will test his loyalty to Frodo.

In-Game Abilities: Has a tinder box to start fires, sleek Elven rope to explore new areas, and ability to grow spectacular flowers and vines.

-

Gandalf

A warm and wise Wizard, Gandalf is the leader of the Fellowship of the Ring and dedicated to defeating Sauron. Initially known as Gandalf the Grey, he delights his Hobbit friends with fireworks when he visits The Shire. He returns after an epic duel with a Balrog to become a more powerful Wizard known as Gandalf the White.

In-Game Abilities: Has a magical staff that can lift and build LEGO objects, provide light in dark places and shoot out bolts of energy.

-

Aragorn

Known merely as a Ranger of the North, Aragorn is actually a descendant of ancient kings and heir to the throne of Gondor. Masterful with the sword, this great warrior leads the Fellowship of the Ring when Gandalf the Grey was defeated by the Balrog. In joining Frodo in his quest, Aragorn also comes closer to his fate.

In-Game Abilities: Possesses Andúril, the sword which bestows magical powers. Uncovers and follows the tracks of friends and foes alike

-

Legolas

In-Game Abilities: Amazing sharp-shooter with his bow. Possesses extreme agility and balance.

-

Gimli

As a representative of the Dwarves, Gimli is a mighty warrior always ready to draw his broad axes in battle. He is proud and strong. Gimli is not particularly good at riding horses and dislikes being tossed around—except when absolutely necessary.

In-game Abilities: Shatters LEGO rocks with his mighty axe.

-

Boromir

Boromir is the strong and honourable commander of Gondor’s army. He is also next in line to serve as steward of Gondor as the true heir to throne has not returned. Dedicated to defending his people, he is tempted to take the One Ring from Frodo and wield its powers to protect Gondor.

In-Game Abilities Uses the Horn of Gondor to deafen enemies. Broad shield protects him from enemy attacks.

-

Merry and Pippin

Frodo’s Hobbit friends from Bag End, Merry and Pippin joined the quest to destroy the One Ring. Playful and mischievous, they often get into trouble to Gandalf’s dismay. But they must now give up their second breakfasts to go on this dangerous journey and learn to wield a sword to protect their friends.

In-Game Abilities: Access to Hobbit holes, and crawl spaces. Elven cloak that camouflages the wearer.

Sam seems to be an ancestor of Poison Ivy.

Cover art for the game, showing some new stuff.

Thanks for sharing the pic!

Would love to see some of that stuff appear in sets, especially the Witch-king of Angmar,

or the Mûmak as seen in the background. The Fell Beast would probably come with the Witch-king, but I don't care for that one as much

since I've been constructing my own version for quite a while already... but I can see others wanting that as well.

I don't think brick buildt fell beasts work well, they are supposed to be sleek snake dragons so the blockyness doesent do it for me. I really want the witch king minifigure aswell!

That's something that would count for most things, then, and it doesn't necessarily have to be blocky - MOCs can often have a good level of sleekness.

There are some really good looking and well-made LEGO dragons out there, especially one of the most recent ones; "Tremendous Smaug", with barely any blockiness shown.

I do hope there's a DLC pack, wouldn't surprise me with the last batch of games all getting one. The art is unbelievably awesome.

Preferably all the characthers would be in the game without needing dlc.

Would be cool if there were some The Hobbit caracthers dlc just for fun/teasing

I would expect for some characters to be from some scenes that we don't get to play.

Poor Sam was completely left out of that poster.

Is that a helmet-wearing Eowyn on the bottom fighting the Witch King?

I'm as well disappointed by the lack of Sam specially since he is a really important character, even more important than Legolas and Gimli :hmpf_bad:

Does anyone know about the pre-order exclusive? I believe it's Elrond. And can

you get it through game stop? :sceptic:

Yes we think it's Elrond no word on how to get it yet though.

I've been wondering - will not all of the Fellowship members end up with a Lothlorien cloak?

In the Helm's Deep cutscenes, I didn't see Legolas nor Gimli with any kind of cape, and Aragorn just had his black ranger one.

(In these scenes he would've been supposed to wear chain mail as well... I wondered what happened to that. They did the same thing with the Aragorn fig from the set.)
