Pingles Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) Greetings. This is my first post here so I will start with the usual "sorry if this has been discussed before.". I searched here and with Google but could not find an answer. On the Lego website the 7938 motor is described as "train motor" while the 7939 description lists It as "medium motor". Are these the same motor or is the 7939 stronger? I will be using the set for my own train project (I am new to Lego trains) so the train design is a non- issue. I would prefer the cheaper set but would gladly pay more if the motor is more powerful. By the way, this has been fantastic perusing this forum. So nice to see calm, sensible discussion on a forum. And so much information to soak in! EDIT: Oh dear. Found the answer a few posts down in the motor comparison thread. Thanks again for the great resource this forum is. Question answered and this topic can certainly be closed if need be. Thank you. Edited March 5, 2011 by Pingles
AndyC Posted March 5, 2011 Not sure what you saw on the comparison site, but to be absolutely clear - the PF Medium Motor is different to the PF Train motor, however in this case it's a mistake on the Lego site since both 7938 and 7939 come with the PF Train Motor. Pingles Posted March 5, 2011 Oops, I was unclear. I meant the "88002 or 8866? What's the difference?" thread http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52597 In a reply Tearloch33 states From TLG customer service, the 88002 motor (comes with Cargo Train 7939 and Passenger Train 7938) Thanks for the clarification.
