star wars is my favorite lego theme out of all the themes and i really like the clone wars sets.

I voted for Star Wars

since I'm a big (Lego) Star Wars (but not Clone Wars!!!) fan.

Of course Pirates is an amazing theme, too, and in fact I normally prefer non-licensed themes since they are less expensive and offer much more creativity and playabilty.

But since I haven't got enough place and money to begin collecting Pirates, too, I only own the S@H version of the Black Seas Barracuda (before Xmas I owned three other sets, too, but I sold them). SW I began to collect in 2001 and I'm still collecting SW sets.

Pirates.

Why? Because Star Wars is developed by George Lucas, not TLC. The sets are based at a movie (not counting the EU/CW sets). TLC couldn't design things like torsos if they weren't movie-accurate. With the Pirates-theme, they were able to do much more because it didn't need to be historical accurate.

Besides of that, I think there are only a few good Galactic Empire sets, but almost every Pirates set is great, including the Imperials sets (not counting the new line, that's only useful for parts and figs IMHO).
