Feuer Zug Posted September 19, 2023 Plate Field hangar. This hangar is loosely based on the hangars in "The Rocketeer" and other older styled ones. The roof is a white baseplate under compression (questionable, but the only way to get the look I wanted). Features include functioning doors that slide in their tracks, a rotating beacon on turntable, and various internal details to include a workbench, tools, jack, ladder, storage shelves, oil barrels, a loft area in the back, and a windsock on the roof. The floor of the hangar is raised to connect with the taxiway segments and the ground tracks for the sliding doors. The biplane is from set 60103.

Man with a hat Posted September 21, 2023 Nice one. The curved roof looks good. And I like that you also included the typical tail cut-out in the doors.

I was striving for both the old style look of the building and with the LEGO by using the ancient trans-clear 2x4 bricks, old doors, and old windows. One of the LEGO aircraft I have required the tail cut out, so I made it happen. The curved roof was a surprising fit. I bent the baseplate and then went to put bricks on the ends. I was pleasantly surprised when I could use a few slopes and curved slopes to make the angles perfectly.
