Nicolas Canzian Posted December 25, 2020 (edited) Hello, I'm looking for the part list of the box 070. I have the box itself and lot of bricks around but I would like to match them. I cannot find it on the brick sites I know. Thank you for your help. Nicolas Edited December 25, 2020 by Nicolas Canzian
Toastie Posted December 26, 2020 Hi Nicolas, it may help to explain further: What do you mean by box 070? Do you talk about a set? From the good ol'days? As far as I know, a preceding "0" was not used ... but I may be wrong ... There are folks around here, who know a lot about the history of LEGO. AmperZand Posted December 29, 2020 @Toastie, I think @Nicolas Canzian means 070 Universal Building Set from 1966. I don’t know what the set’s inventory is but @LEGO Historian might. His LEGO history-fu is unsurpassed!
Nicolas Canzian Posted December 30, 2020 Hi Thorsten , thank you for your reply. Yes, I mean an old basic box from the 60s !!! There is no reference number on the box part I have. The set reference I found in Bricklink is 070-1 but there is no inventory on this website. I have part of the box, I have parts, I would like to link them... Best regards, Nicolas
LEGO Historian Posted January 4, 2021 The 070 Basic set was produced from 1967 until 1972. However, there is no known online parts inventory... at least not in Bricklink nor Peeron.
Nicolas Canzian Posted January 5, 2021 Thank you for your answers. So what can I do if even one of the most important specialist of Lego history cannot give me a clue ? Is Lego company responding to this kind of request ? Do they at least have a "museum" or sort of ? Happy new year Lego companions. Nicolas
Nicolas Canzian Posted January 7, 2021 The Lego company respond to me that I am lucky to own this box but that they don't have any information on the parts inventory... Not lucky...
Toastie Posted January 7, 2021 1 hour ago, Nicolas Canzian said: but that they don't have any information on the parts inventory... What? Wow. 60 years appear to be too long ago, and from a galaxy too far far away - for a company grown that big to keep track of what they made back then. Are you sure you got to the right folks? Was that set some sort "localized" specialty? As in: It was available only on Betelgeuse? Or was it a promotional set only given to the Queen of Denmark? I'd like to first say I'm sorry for the time it's taken to get back to you. We thank you for your patience while we experience high volume of contacts from our fans. Wow, you are so lucky to own this very special LEGO® Universal Building Set! We do not unfortunately have the list of parts for this 1966 set in our database! I've had a look online but it does seem like it's nowhere to be found. In this case, I can only recommend you use one of the LEGO fan forums online to ask other fans who own this set if they still have the list of parts to share :) I'm truly sorry I can't help Nicolas but I keep my fingers crossed for you!
