Minifigure parts in LDD?

Hi,

I'm new to LDD but have spent half a day getting to grips with the basics and have recreated the Star Wars Microfighter 75032 as my first attempt.
However, I want to recreate the minifigure and parts like x164pb08 (6062974) Headgear Helmet SW Rebel Pilot with Flat Silver Rectangles, Medium Dark Flesh and Black Circles Pattern does not appear to be included in LDD.

What do you guys to in situations like this please?

We do “without.” 

More seriously, we find the most similar pattern or use the unpatterned version.

Well, in LDD, x164 / 30370 hasn’t got any print nor paintable area, so you’re stuck with the plain version 

(Some people add prints (to parts that already can be printed), but that’s a modification of LDD and we don’t talk about that here.)

Unfortunately, most parts on LDD are labeled according to the official 5-digit Design ID number for undecorated versions of the part. Bricklink identifies many parts by their Design ID numbers, but that does not extend to most minifigure parts. And decorated parts go by different Design ID numbers even on Lego's customer service database (and Brickset's, which is also sourced from there).

LDD does not have all decorations, so you can't get the printed version of that part. However, you can substitute an undecorated version. The helmet in question is listed as 30370 REBEL PILOT HELMET. Search the name or number to quickly access the part in question.

For future issues like this, it's often easiest to browse the parts manually to find the part you need. It's helpful to keep in mind that parts are listed in LDD roughly by size—smaller parts are listed first in categories, followed by progressively larger parts.
