"No, but I doubt Ennoc would accept either."

"Perhaps. Maybe he's more into pure virgins and the like. You think Annie...?"

"That's enough, unless you're volunteering to be the offering yourself,"

Avalanche strides over to the captain, "I'm Avalanche, pleased to meet you - I hear you have a bandit problem?" He extends a paw.

grayson.png

"Problem would be an understatement." The captain shakes the paw. "They've been harassing us for too long and we just simply haven't been able to train enough soldiers fast enough, or well enough. That's where you people come in, as I'm sure you know."

"Where are the recruits?"

grayson.png

"I sent them on a training mission into the forest earlier in the day." His gaze hardens. "They haven't returned. I wanted them to return with some form of trophies. I didn't think it would take them this long."

Calamity rolls her eyes. "So you send your untrained recruits to the forest, where your band of problems hangs out, on the morning that the people who can turn your farmers and villagers in a half decent militia arrive? We better go and find them before all we have to whip into shape are a mayor and two cows."

Avalanche shakes his head, "First things first, let's find those recruits and make sure they're alive enough to be trained!" He beckons to the others to follow him, setting off towards the forest.

Annienal steps forward and takes her gauntlet off, extending a hand.

"Um... my name is Annienal Anavir, and it's a pleasure to meet you captain. I, um, was trained at Trost Military College if it means anything.

I'm not sure what you mean by "trophies". You say you have your men training against animals, but their foe is coming from the sea. Should they not be drilled in armed combat against a humanoid enemy and not wild beasts?"

"Trost?" the captain repeats. "Sounds familiar. I think that's where my nephew went to go study." He tries to scratch his neck but his armor hinders him. "Gah stupid armor. Anyway, by trophies, I just want them to come back with something to prove that they have fought and killed living creatures, not just training dummies. Preferably they would be fighting more humanoids, but seeing we have a lack of them on this island, that's why I hired you to see how good they are."

Annienal nodded. "Well, um, I hope your nephew's time at Trost went well for him." She didn't remember seeing a lot of humans, but perhaps by chance she unknowingly interacted with his nephew. She never got why her parents wanted her in Trost. She never was very militarily minded. "I'd like to see your men in action, so I suppose we should go and find them. As they are under your command, captain, I assume you're coming with us?"

"No, Ms. Knight," he replies. "I wish you best of luck, though."

And so the party sets off. Luke leads them down the path and off into the forest. Soon, there were sounds of combat that could be heard through the trees.

luke.png

"That may be the scouts!" Luke exclaims. "We have to help them!" The cleric runs off towards the sound of battle, the party hot on his heels. There, they find...

forest.png

traci.png

"It's Luke!" a woman in golden plate armor shouts. "Luke, help us!"

rex.png

"Traci, keep still! I can't get a shot!" He turns to see the heroes. "Oh thank Ennoc, we've got allies here!"

jackson.png

"We're going to die if you don't get rid of these creatures, Heroes!"

Shouldn't Calamity have ether back from resting on the ship? Also, what elements are fairy weak and strong against?

Calamity attacks Nymph A from the back row with a darkness spell, Luke attacks Ensnaring Vine A.

I fixed them to Fairy/Luminous. Thought Fairy was already a type.

Not quite sure what Fairy type is, as there's none on the FAQ. Can we get clarification? I'm not too keen on stating an action until I know what I'm getting into.

I've changed them to just Luminous now for ease of battle.

Sorry for the late round, I saw Deadpool last night.

Round 1 of the Forest Rescue

Annienal vs Venus Hero Trap (back): Hit (10x2=20+18=38/2=19 dmg; 175-19=156 dmg)

Avalanche vs Nymph B: Fairy Dust- Nymph B avoids all damage for this round and next round.

Warlen vs Rudy Hoff: Scroll of Frailty (Needs to roll an even number for success, rolled a 3)

Warlen vs Rudy Hoff: Deflected Damage (Needs to roll a six, rolled a six and completely blocks attack)

Luke vs Ensnaring Vine A: Viselike Grip (Luke is now Bound and suffers Bleeding)

Calamity vs Nymph A: Miss (Nothing Happens)

Ensnaring Vine B vs Annienal: Free Hit (18.5x2=37; 37-17=20/2=10 dmg; 33-10=23 HP)

Ensnaring Vine C vs Avalanche: Free Hit (16.5x2=33; 33-12=21dmg; 31-21=10HP)

Avalanche Counterstrikes Vine C: (110-21=89HP)

Luke suffers 5 bleeding damage (23-5=18HP)

The quick rescue throws the Heroes off guard. Annie makes a solid hit in an attempt to rescue the paladin. The Nymph flutters away from Avalanche while Warlen struggles with his new equipment. Luke is injured and starts to bleed out, causing Calamity to become distracted and miss her attack. Annie is whipped by the vine yet Avalanche makes strong punch back.

OOC: Not sure how you'r calculating damage here. It should be 10x2=20+18=38/2=19 damage. I think your dividing the WP and not the overall attack.

"Um, it'd be better if Luke used one of his potions, Calamity. I mean, he's got two and it'd be better than running the risk of him not healing himself.

Warlen, we, um, need to start dealing with these free hits. Is it, um, at all possible to Hasten both me and you?"
